That other dental office changed management and suddenly was recommending several treatments and they were very intense about it. I decided to get a second opinion and was so glad I did. It turns out that I didn't need any fillings. I eventually moved to West Seattle and continued coming here just because they always did such a great job! The appointments were scheduled to be quick and efficient, but not rushed. Also, everyone was just so friendly and knowledgable. I unfortunately moved out of state, and just went to a new dentist here. Comparing experiences led me to want to give this review. I wish all dental offices were as great as this one! At the first appointment, it took multiple (5-6) injections - never had that many before. I experienced discomfort and pain for about a week after this first appointment, which I heard is abnormal for this sort of procedure. Then when the doctor could not successfully apply local anesthesia, yet again, at the crown fitting, he just went ahead with the procedure even after I told him and his assistant multiple times that I still felt pain. While anesthesia is not always required for this procedure, I specifically shared with the team that I wanted to be numbed due to my pain tolerance and teeth sensitivity. When I kept squirming in the chair and groaning, the doctor remarked, "Oh, you really feel the pain?" as if I'd been faking it all along. After this experience, my partner and I decided to look for a new dentist - someone who actually cares about his patients.

I took her word for it and went home. Then over the next few days, I noticed that on the same tooth the part that I had felt pressure was not missing because it had broken off due to this pressure that I had felt. I came in right away, but was told that I cannot be worked on because the bill was going to be $1900 without insurance. Needless to say, I feel misled. However, the more I think about it, I almost feel manipulated into now having to get a crown due to the integrity of my tooth being compromised and then neglected. She assured her that she will be there the entire time and to let her know if anything felt uncomfortable. Dr. Lin did the filling and he was gentle as ever. No numbing or local anesthesia needed! I was worried I'd be judged for my recently poor dental health (I was traveling overseas for the past year in countries where I couldn't drink tap water to clean my teeth), but they didn't make me feel bad about it at all. I left feeling very positive and hopeful that I can take better care of my teeth. Dr. Nartea has a very gentle hand which makes going to the dentist a lot less scary. I have a classic old, brick Tudor house with a steep roof, and as you can see in the photo he did an excellent job! He was true to his word on the schedule and price. He paid attention to details, even painting some roof vents to match the color of the shingles and when he was finished, he cleaned up so well that you couldn't even tell he'd been here. Today, about eight months later, I discovered some rain water leaking down through the ventilation fan over my kitchen stove. I called Scott and he was here within the hour. Turns out, it was the roof vent had a rivet joint that failed, which was nothing to do with the new roof that he installed. He still fixed the leak for me at no charge. Hiring contractors is always a gamble and I've run across some bad ones, but Scott is definitely one of the good guys. In addition to his professionalism, he's a friendly, calm, and pleasant guy.
