Dr. Pollack saved my life. Dr. Pollack has been my Neurologist since November 2011. I was experiencing horrific headaches upon waking every morning all over my head. I had been to Urgent Care 2x & the ER 2x, along with seeing a new GP who put me on BP meds as the pain was spiking my BP very high. No one could figure out the cause of my headaches even after CT scans and a spinal tap were done @ the ER. My GP prescribed migraine meds, tried different pain meds, but nothing worked. Ice is the only thing that seemed to help. Next, my GP sent me for an MRI of the brain. The results came back "Normal." But I knew it was not "Normal." I was referred to a headache specialist in Houston with a four month waiting list. There was no time to wait as I couldn't work or concentrate. I was nearly bed ridden. I called the location where my MRI was done since I noticed a Neurologist's name in the same building. They referred me to Dr. Lee Pollack. I was able to be seen quickly as a new patient. Dr. Pollack reviewed my MRI and immediately discovered the error the tech missed when he wrote the report. The MRI report was amended, and then Dr. Pollack ordered additional tests including a MRA, and MRI's w/w/out contrast of my brain. The results showed a large vein blocking the flow of spinal fluid, along with a possible Rathke cleft cyst on my pituitary gland. Dr. Pollack was so determined to figure out the cause of my headaches. He ordered another round of tests which confirmed his findings. Dr. Pollack would even personally email me sometimes @ 11:30pm with his thoughts of what could possibly be wrong with me. Next, Dr. Pollack referred me to one one of the top neurosurgeons in the country, Dr. Dong Kim with Mischer Neuroscience at Memorial Hermann @ The Med. Center in Houston. Again, I was seen nearly immediately. And Dr. Pollack nailed my diagnosis as it was confirmed by Dr. Kim. Within one week, I had a craniotomy on 12/12/12. My headaches stopped immediately after surgery. Had I not seen Dr. Pollack and not had the craniotomy, I would have been a walking time bomb. I was informed after my surgery I would have either had an aneurysm or a stroke, and/or most likely be dead. I found out later this condition is typically found upon autopsy. In Laymon's terms: The hole in my brain where the cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) flows through was smaller than normal. I was simply born this way. Dr. Kim enlarged the hole, and then moved the vein blocking the CSF flow causing the build up of fluid on my brain. I can't thank Dr. Pollack and his staff enough for the excellent care they have provided me with over the years. I still see Dr. Pollack since I have chronic pain stemming from severe stenosis in my neck and back. Again, I am forever grateful to Dr. Pollack. He's a determined genius. I was a patient of Dr Pollak several years ago, just as he diagnosed me with BOOM he retired, and made me try to find a new Neurologist and get my records transferred. He is very thorough, but he had the rudest staff I dreaded going in. Now I hear he is back practicing as I can tell, I love my current neurologist and his staff. read more

I have seen him for numerous ailments and this is the most knowledgeable, professional, deeply concerning caring doctor I have ever met. Poor bedside manner! Do not go to this guy if you want someone professional and empathetic to your needs.

I want to thank Yelp for providing a forum for consumers to post their opinions and experiences for the public to see. I'm not a super negative person (as seen by my 2% 1-star ratings), but the experience with this office was the worst I have ever seen first-hand. I emphatically discourage any new potential "customers" for this establishment. What I believe to be the most important attributes I can measure: customer service, sympathy, and tact are all things LACKING by the individuals in Lee Pollack's office. Reading and comparing older reviews, in my opinion, it seems as if he has let himself go into complacency and greed. We arrived to the office (~10-15 min.) early and had to wait nearly an hour to be seen....a recurring instance you can read in other reviews. His staff is rude and unprofessional, we walk in and greet the front desk clerk with a smile and hello....and get a "fill this out" with no eye contact or warmth. This should not be a huge surprise because to me, it's clear he prefers money in his pocket and will hire whoever will take the pay and throw on some scrubs. Walking into the office of this "private practice" you are immediately met with an inordinate amount of signage, most of it pertaining to making sure you pay or you will NOT be seen. Now this isn't an unheard of idea, especially with private practices, but the signage was obnoxious. Moreover, this place was dirty/dusty and sloppily put together (which is the complete opposite you see in normal private practices that require $$$$). The furniture in the waiting room and patient rooms were mismatched, old, and dirty, the walls were filthy, the floors needed to be swept AND mopped...the whole experience left you feeling uncomfortable. Turns out we were waiting for results that had been sitting in his office for some undisclosed amount of time. Now I understand that you wait for an appointment, but when the results are positive for a neurological disorder, I believe you should communicate sooner. When I asked about the time delay, he blamed the labs for not sending results in a timely fashion, but he did not comment on when our results came in. The onus was on him to call us and say "hey I can't see you in a decent time, but I suggest you try to go in and see someone else....or let me squeeze you in at the end of my day so you have all the information you need." He did not give us the respect or consideration. By the fact he let these results sit for any amount of time, shows me that this office is unorganized and doesn't care for their patients. Just about the bottom dollar. At the consult, he haphazardly explained lab results to us and when I asked more poignant questions about follow-up tests, his experiences with the results, and other things, he began stammering over his words, sweating, and once he realized that he was talking to someone that knew about the subject, began to exclaim he was uncomfortable with my presence there and tried to withdraw from the consult. This was not my consult or HIS consult....he made the time about him. When anyone answers a question without thinking or consulting necessary outlets, I feel this is a bad sign that they are narcissistic and believe they can tell you whatever they want...... He suggested we do some research and decide which treatment to start......WHOA WHOA WHOA.....isn't that is something YOU are supposed to do?!?! He had no treatment plan in place. He spoke about medicines from what seemed to be a vague memory, mis-pronounced some of them, and was unclear at what some of them do; clearly another indication of his lack of preparedness and consideration! I write this review of Dr. Pollack with great admiration. He has been nothing but patient and kind in helping me figure out the nature of my severe pain. Where most doctors would give up on you, knowing you are walking away lost and hopeless, Dr. Pollack takes the time to listen and consider all possibilities instead of shutting you down and making you feel like you're crazy! Do not go there!!!! The staff is horrible rude and unprofessional especially Amanda, the wait is long and they do not communicate with their patients.. Was there two months ago and have waited this long to be treated . A friend warned me about the staff but I went there with hope. I gave one star because Dr Pollack is very good but unfortunately the staff is not.. I think he's the smartest doctor I ever had and I've had quite a few at age 68! It's been a few years since I saw him due to insurance changes, and it usually took me a 30 minute wait in the outer office before getting into a room, and then another 45-60 minute wait before he came in (bring a magazine or your phone), but then he'd spend a good 20-30 minutes with you diagnosing whatever ails you basically. So I don't think you can go wrong with Dr. Pollack! If I ever need a neurologist again, he'd be my first call! read more

Dr.Pollack is a great doctor however his staff is unprofessional and rude! Monica in particular! She has no comprehension of what it means to be an assistant office manager! The office has poor follow through with their patients and even poorer communication capabilities. I will never recommend anyone to Dr.Pollack because of his terrible staff! Nancy also is another rude staff member. She pretended to have sympothy for my diagnosis however once i questioned why something was not handled, she told me I was being rude and placed me on hold to never come back! I am updating this review from 2015. It is now April 2017 and unfortunately my husband was still seeing "DrPollack" up until last week. We have spent thousands of dollars on blood tests, MRI's and even a spinal tap with no diagnosis given. My husbands health has continued to decline and we are not any closer to him actually diagnosing anything. Just more pills and test after test. I am completely convinced this office is nothing more than a front for a pill mill. If you are looking for an opioid addiction this just might be the" Dr." For you. He has wasted valuable time that we could have been treating my husbands condition. Thankful for us my husband works for a major corporation and they have stepped in to help us since my husbands health is declining fast all while under the care of "Dr.Pollack". Now even after receiving request from his new doctor they are refusing to release his medical records. Upon calling the office repeatedly we were treated rude and even threatened by the records Secrectary. We have been recording our last few interactions with the office and staff and fully intend on reporting this office for illegal practices and repeating testing to charge insurance companies.My husband has an appointment with a real Neurologist tomorrow so we can finally find out what is going on with his health. I cannot stress to anyone reading this PLEASE don't GO TO THIS "DOCTOR" if you value your health. He is not a legitimate doctor and is not looking out for his patients best interest. Depending on my husband diagnosis once we get a legitimate one I have every intention of going after this practice legally. OMG! Beware, run! Do not go to this office!! This doctor ordered a MRI of my husband spine and brain. A front desk RECEPTIONIST EMAILED my husband to tell him he may have a possible tumor, but did not say if it was in the brain or the spine! Why did the doctor not call him???? Why did a front desk receptionist EMAIL him with that news???? Then when I asked to schedule a follow up for my husband to speak to the doctor about the possible tumor she told me March! 4 months away,March?? Really??? You have a possible tumor but we are not going to discuss it til MARCH??? Only after I threw a fit did she decide to try and fit him in December, but still a month a way. At that point I had no trust in this doctor. Hes obviously incompent as is his RUDE staff!What doctor allows his front desk receptionist to email a patient to tell them they may possibly have a tumor?? I have been seeing Dr Pollack since Jan 1999. My husband and family have been against this decision for a long time. During the first years, he was treating me for fibromyalgia because he was not able to find any other cause for all my pain . He definitely believed in prescribing painkillers and when I balked at taking strong meds , he commented that it was mean of any dr to let their patient remain in pain. In 2007, I went to an ear dr to check on hearing loss. He proceeded to order a brain MRI. His office called me immediately and told me I needed to go to a neurologist because my MRI looked like Multiple Sclerosis. I passed this info on to Dr Pollack who immediately ordered two other tests and received confirmation that I did have MS. Needless to say my husband was very upset with DrPollack for missing it for so long. I accepted the heartfelt apologies and genuine concern of Dr Pollack and continued to see him. Now after all these years, he is trying to cut back on the opiates he has prescribed . I was finally at a treatment that was relieving the pain when I was told that they needed to start cutting back. In 2016 to 2017 my husband suffered from cancer and passed away and now I am spending 90% of time living at my parents home 200 miles away. This is not a good time to put someone on a lesser pain relieving treatment . Stress and being overly tired are two of the main triggers for Ms. Needless to say , my symptoms have increased. A few months ago , it became difficult to obtain the pain medicine I was taking. I contacted the office and told the woman at the desk , because the prescription nurse never returns calls, that I needed a different pain medication or I would be waiting two weeks for the other order to arrive .the front desk person told me she would give the message to Dr P0llack and Christine after work hours. This was a Friday and that would have meant I would have been without any medication for the weekend and probably part of Monday. When I tried to explain that I needed her to talk to someone then, she flew into a rage quoting policies and office procedures ,etc. I was told that my attitude would be noted on my medical records. The prescription was changed but I was informed I would be required to stay with the pain med that it was changed to because they would not change it back even if it did not work as well. I never minded the long waits to see DrPollack because I felt he would give the same attention to me as his other patients. The past few years the wait to see the nurse for a med check has increased to sometimes as much as an hour . I don't understand that. Recently, I have been told I would be charged for picking up scripts with no appt when the office had misscheduled me and for prior authorizations that are requirements from the insurance company. There is no way to avoid this. The only requests from pharmacies is done by fax. They will not return their phone calls. The so called billing clerk , who was the person at the front desk I spoke of sooner, is the rudest, most unprofessional, unknowledgable person I have ever known. I have heard many complaints against her. Recently, she began berating a patient who not only had neurological problems but is also bipolar and suffers from extreme anxiety attacks. When the patient tried to do all the things , she said she needed , she refused to ok the patients med check and would not reschedule her which caused the patient to burst into tears. At that time, the berating got worse, the office person accused the patient of causing a scene in front of other patients. A week later, the patient received a letter saying that Dr Pollack would no longer be her dr and she had 30 days to get another dr. All future appts were cancelled. None of the other staff members or Dr Pollack requested a discussion with the patient to get the other side. This office has changed 180 degrees from when I started and I am now looking for a new doctor. read more

Today was my last visit with this doctor. In spite of his terrible online reviews, I figured why not? Well, after almost two years of on off neurology appointments, today we came to the Fountainhead, when FOR THE THIRD time, I sat and waited in the lobby for one hour, and then another hour in the patient's room. My scheduled appointment time was at 11:00 and was not even thought of by any of the office staff until after ONE OCLOCK!! In addition, to his lack of timeliness, the doctor likes to order MRI's and other very expensive lab results, all paid for by the patient of course, that are not only NOT needed, but that he never even bothers to follow up on!! Could it be that Dr. Pollack owns Spring Imaging, and refers his patients there, so that he can receive the money from their MRI's but not discuss what actually came as a result of the MRI! To add insult to injury today, his very rude receptionist Ms. Dominguez, asked me to sign a form, giving Dr. Pollack the right to garnish 150 dollars for missed office visits!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! What about his three missed scheduled office visits with me??? Can I bill him for MY TIME LOST!! I work too, and take time out of my day to come and see him,... for NOTHING!! This neurologist has NOT improved the state of my seizure disorder, has not helped me understand why I have seizure disorder, nor has helped in anyway as a doctor. I hate to think of how he treats patients with more severe conditions... I only seized and almost died on the freeway, but imagine for those that have brain cancer!! If his staff can not schedule ONE patient PER hour instead of THREE, and he can NOT MAKE his appointments... imagine how he performs when assessing, diagnosing, and treating PATIENTS!??? read more

Dr Pollack has been treating me for migraines for a number of years., He has always made me feel like I am his only concern during my appointments, never makes me feel like he needs to get to the next patient or is ready to leave for the day. He will talk with you about whatever concerns you and will do what he can to remedy the problem. I started seeing Dr. Pollack after experiencing several siezures. (Each visit is a 45 minute drive and another 1 1/2-2 hr wait) After 3 EEGs, being diagnosed with having a brain lesion that is resulting in epilepsy and numerous attempts at different meds, I decided to try medicinal marijuana and CBD oil. Never having a patient to actually try this, it peaked his curiosity. He scheduled me for my 4th EEG and a follow up appointment to be done almost a month later. Due to not being able to drive myself for fear of having a siezure, I called early that morning, (before they opened) to let them know that I wouldn't be able to make it. (My appointment was at 11am)I then received a very rude phone call from his secretary who proceeded to lecture me and tell me I was irresponsible. Continuously cutting me off and not allowing me to speak. She told me that I would have to pay $100 penalty for cancelling my appointment before I could get results, meds or make another appointment. I sent an email directly to Dr. Pollack and he confirmed the penalty money. That's all. No apologies. No acknowledgement of his rude secretary. Nothing. I am now searching for a new nuerologist. read more

Dr. Pollack appears to be too busy to concern himself with what he is supposed to be doing: Helping his patients to achieve a better quality of life and giving them much needed information about their neurological condition. He didn't bother to discuss the results of the MRI radiology report he ordered. Never even mentioned it, sat there looking at us with a blank stare. I had to ask for a copy of the report so I could research the results.To this day he has made zero attempt to discuss the report (and the MRI was REALLY bad) or to explain what to expect from the brain disorder, or to proffer any prognosis or treatment plan. He seems terribly preoccupied, and not with the job at hand. I've seen many great doctors over the years and he isn't one of them. I suggested to my friend that we move on to find an actual caring expert who could help him, but my friend's brain doesn't function normally. So I have a dysfunctional doctor 'treating' a highly mentally compromised friend,,,,a true Catch 22. read more

I am in shock. I made an appointment with Dr Lee Pollack a week ago. I have not been to his office in a year. I suffer from migraines and have for more than 10 years. I was told by the front office after paying for my visit of course that he would not see me since I have been seen by him for this problem before. Wait, wtf? He doesnt see his patients if he has already seen you for a recurring problem? Is this his way of saying I cant help you? I cant figure out how to help you? I am only a neurologist?
