It's a nice vibe here because it's nestled right in the heart of the city. But, you can easily reach a huge greenway along the river, the art district, or walk across a long pedestrian bridge to shopping and parks. As a place to be a student, I found it to be pretty good overall. Now, with 25 years passing, I have no idea if the professors or education are like the past. But, I think the UT system does a decent job. I was well prepared for the future -- attending higher ranked graduate schools. UTC is what you make of it. Overall: Worth checking out if you want an urban campus that's not overwhelmingly big.

I recall going here right out of high school back in 1996. Although I didn't graduate at that time, it was a great place to go to allow me to transition from high school to college life. I've since earned a B. S. from another local school but Cleveland State is where I started. With the programs that CSCC offers and the emphasis that Tennessee places on higher education, if you live in the Cleveland area, there's no excuse for you to not be taking a class or two each semester. Even if you're not trying to earn a degree, the offered courses will still help you in your career or help you change a career. Stop by and talk to a counselor.

Their business office is completely ridiculous and will have you running all over the place giving you the wrong information, that changes every time you talk to someone different. The financial aid office is probably the worst department in the whole school. Not one person in the place knows anything, and they wont let you speak with anyone who does. Forget about reaching out for help if you are taking a Tn ecampus class, there is no help, and no one at the school will help you. No matter how many emails you send, no matter how many times you go up to the school, no matter how many times you call. CSCC is notorious for giving students and parents the run around. I would recommend driving to Chattanooga and attending Chattanooga state if you are planning to attend community college.

Admissions makes you run in circles and refuse to aid you in anyway other than informing you "oh... by the way we need this paperwork" that is not even in the Tiger web application as being required which is the system they go by to show what is needed to register. The VA reps and advisors won't even talk to you unless your registered to the school. Soo.... you have to be a student to get help to become a student?? They dodge any questions or concerns about Financial Aid until your classes are set up where.. of course... they ask for more paperwork which prevent you from registering for the classes/semester your already set for.. It doesn't make any sense how they do things. Attempting to understand their system to aid my Son has been a catastrophe... for a F**KING COMMUNITY COLLEGE!!!!!!!
