Brian was very easy to communicate with and took care of ordering all of the supplies. They came by the following week and completed the install as scheduled. They were very tidy using drop cloths on the carpet and cleaned up after themselves; unlike a lot of handymen/ contractors. Our staircase not only looks better, but is as solid as a rock and not all wobbly like it was before. The price was fair and I would highly recommend using them for staircase work or any other carpentry projects, such as molding or built-in's. I have uploaded a before and after pic to this review.

Well fast forward almost a year later and now there is a baby in the house that is ready to move. In my childproofing quest, I told my husband that now is the time to get the stair handrail fixed. He found The Finishing Company. We advised Brian why rods we would like and that our stairwell was loose. Brian said no problem. We got our stair handrail fixed and new rods added in less than five hours. It is such an improvement. Brian is meticulous. He made sure to vacuum up dust every little step along the way. Now when I come home, I get to not only see a beautifully staircase but I feel a great piece of mind that the stair handrail is sturdy enough for once my baby is mobile.

The "leather" couch I purchased is now falling apart (see attached pictures). I went to the store yesterday and was told that my warranty that I purchased only covered accidents and not quality of the couch. The lady that I spoke to didn't really want to have anything to do with me and told me this is a "La-Z-Boy problem"and I needed to call them directly. I called La-Z-Boy today and they said they only guarantee their product for one year, so basically they will not help with anything. I have had leather furniture from this company in the past and never had an issue. My couch is 4 years old and is now falling apart, so basically, I am out $6,000. I ordered a power recliner that cost over $3000. It was scheduled for delivery for 14 Dec. While…read moreout shopping, I received a text stating that the recliner would arrive in 1 hour and 14 minutes. On my way home (about 45 minutes before delivery was supposed to occur), I received a text from an inhabitant of my home (whom was not authorized to sign for anything) stating that it had already been delivered. Today, I inspected the recliner to find scratches all over the frame and patches of leather missing from all 4 corners. 1. I did not sign for this sofa, and this company allowed an unauthorized person to sign for it without inspection prior to the delivery time AND they never even called my phone. 2. I called La Z Boy's customer service line and got no one, called the local line where I ordered the recliner (4 times and a voicemail before an answer) and the person I spoke with told me she "couldn't do anything about it once it was signed for". This same sales person is who I bought the recliner from in August. I spoke candidly with her about my personal life, my time in the military, and my deceased mother for over an hour. What a sales tactic! 3. I refuse to call anyone else. I paid for this "made to order" custom piece, sight unseen, in total, the day that I ordered it three months ago. I don't want your repairs. I want my money back and nothing else to do with lazy boys. I'm currently awaiting the outcome for a disputed claim with my credit card company if the complaint I made with the BBB doesn't yield results. I won't make purchases from a company that operates this way. This "high end" recliner was supposed to replace one that I purchased elsewhere and it was substantially lower priced with better quality. Never ever again.

On January 18 I terminated our working relationship, due to weeks without communication from Abbey, multiple missed meeting/calls, a complete disregard for my budget, and a failure to deliver multiple agreed upon designs and renderings. After 3+ months, I'd received simplistic drawings - and only of the kitchen! Within a week of hiring my current contractor, I received detailed, 3-D FREE renderings. Abbey was well aware that I employed her because of her stated ability to provide rich 3-D renderings. What she provided looked like "stick-figures" in comparison to "portraits". Also, her kitchen design wouldn't even have worked because of load-bearing walls requiring columns. Abbey Bishop claims to have invested over 120 hours in my project, which is either untrue or pitiful based on the output. I'd be happy to show anyone the drawing of the kitchen she provided after over 3 months versus the detailed 3-D rendering from my current contractor - again FOR FREE, after only 1 WEEK! My loss of funds, time and productivity because my office is in my home, warrants raised awareness of Abbey's lack of ethics and non-professionalism. I have spoken to others who've experienced similar from her.

I tried and tried to communicate, confirm expectations and work with A. to resolve but could never get her to fulfill her promises. Even after a friendly conversation where we agreed on next steps (4 months after the original agreement), I wrote down our conversation and asked her to confirm that I understood correctly, all the things that were included in the "design" and her consulting services in that design. I asked her repeatedly to look at that document and tell me if I misunderstood anything and she would not confirm - or deny for that matter, what my understanding was. I don't even have a kitchen layout option with correct measurements. I have nothing usable. Just not professional.

She spent way too long deciding between the figurines, so I looked around in the shop while she stared at them. They stock lots of eclectic, unique home decor items, so if you're looking for a special pillow or fabric or random glass ball -- and have the means -- this is a good option to check out. The folks who work here are really nice too. They chatted with us about the twig collection (apologies if the figurines have a real name that I'm omitting) and mentioned that Lori had had an event there in the recent past.
