The Finishing Company - Scroll and Knuckle type iron balusters. Stair rail remodel in Richmond Va.

We used The Finishing Company to repair our stairs and replace the wood balusters with iron ones. I…read morefound the company through all of the excellent reviews left on AngiesList. Brian was very easy to communicate with and took care of ordering all of the supplies. They came by the following week and completed the install as scheduled. They were very tidy using drop cloths on the carpet and cleaned up after themselves; unlike a lot of handymen/ contractors. Our staircase not only looks better, but is as solid as a rock and not all wobbly like it was before. The price was fair and I would highly recommend using them for staircase work or any other carpentry projects, such as molding or built-in's. I have uploaded a before and after pic to this review.

Well fast forward almost a year later and now there is a baby in the house that is ready to move. In my childproofing quest, I told my husband that now is the time to get the stair handrail fixed. He found The Finishing Company. We advised Brian why rods we would like and that our stairwell was loose. Brian said no problem. We got our stair handrail fixed and new rods added in less than five hours. It is such an improvement. Brian is meticulous. He made sure to vacuum up dust every little step along the way. Now when I come home, I get to not only see a beautifully staircase but I feel a great piece of mind that the stair handrail is sturdy enough for once my baby is mobile.

A chair may be advertised at one price but to actually buy the chair it will cost twice as much because of any little modification that is requested. Additionally you have only 3 days to cancel or make changes even if the production has not begun. If you can find your lazy boy somewhere else you should consider buying there.

I contacted the Lazy Boy warranty dept and was told that I would be charged around $150 minimum for the first hour of labor and would also have to pay shipping cost for the parts. I reluctantly agreed and when the technician came to install the part, he informed me that the parts ordered were not what would fix the popping noise. He wrote an order for the correct parts and two weeks later I was contacted by Lazy Boy and told that the cost for labor and parts to repair the popping noise would be approximately two thousand dollars! For a year and a half old sofa that has only been used lightly by one person. I could have just bought any other reclining sofa and disposed of it and bought a replacement several times over for the cost of the Lazy Boy. The quality of Lazy Boy products is no longer what it used to be and the warranty is worthless.
