They did tests the "commercial LASIK" places didn't do when I went there for a consult. The surgery was the weirdest thing you can do, but I would do it again hands down x 1000000. The surgery itself was pain-free. Dr. Akler talks you through the whole surgery while she's doing it. I did have some pain for the first 2 hours when I got home, but it went away and hasn't been back. I've had no complications and I attribute that to a great consultation (ensuring I'm a good candidate), following the pre-op instructions, and the skills and knowledge of Dr. Akler. Dr. Hakim did such a great job. no scars, no dry eye, and no redness which I was worried. I was very happy about the result. I went to someone else before Hakim Eye Center and told me $3700 charge because they do not have a machine in their place and care about me after the surgery.
