Not many tables in the bar area so... we sat right at the bar. The bartender had all kinds of attitude... in the BEST way possible. It was awesome. We started with 12 wings tossed in their buffalo sauce. They were excellent - and this coming from a wing snob. The blue cheese was very good - thick and chunky. For the main course, I got the fish and chips with an extra piece of fish. The fish was great. Fries were above average. They had music bingo (maybe a Tuesday thing?) - that was a bit much but c'est la vie. There was one dude shouting out every song and singer. My guy, get a hobby! lol Highly Recommend! They have a "Culture of Generosity" where you can buy a beer forward. I actually got to be the recipient of one of those free beers. And of course, I paid it forward. The BEER: Seymour-Finnegan's Irish Red Ale 5.7%... smooth slightly sweet great tasting all day crushable goodness Hop Culture IPA 6.5% ABV... looks like a hazy, tastes like a west coast, definitely high in IBUs, has fruity pine nose, good if you love your IPAs extra piney, so very hop forward Pickle Sour 4.5% ABV... oh he11 yummm, I absolutely love this pickle sour. Soooo very good! Rum soaked oak barrel aged Big Hal 7% ABV... there was something I really liked about this. It is a brown ale with a whole bunch of personality Don't have the words though. Big Hal brown ale 6 8% ABV... now I know what I liked about the Rum Soaked Barrel Aged Big Hal this is an all day drinkable brown ale. LOVED IT! Most of the seating is picnic tables outside under an awning but there are also a few tables inside. High Springs brewery had a huge variety! 8 beers, 2 ciders, a hard lemonade and a soda. All of which they make in house as far as I can tell. I got my usual flight which consisted of a Hefeweizen, a kolsch, and 2 IPA's. All were solid but the Hazed and Confused was phenomenal. They don't make any food onsite but there were menus at the bar for Prohibition Pizza that is across the street. As I was leaving, I also saw a food truck pull up so plenty of options.

Kevin said that was a good location, but recommended I look at Sandy's Shack if I wanted better prices on brew. I went over the next day. To set the stage, Ocala is - surpriingly - a great craft beer city. In fact, there are other towns close by that also have a great selection in their taprooms. You can buy beer to go in many of the taprooms, but store wise, Ocala has two really good beer shops: Sandy's and Metro. This little gem of a shop sits in the Beall's shopping center behind the Outback on Silver Spring Blvd east of downtown. It is primarily a beer and wine shop and the shop owners, Sandy and Alex, were manning the fort when I went in. I started a conversation and Sandy showed me back to the beer section. There are 5 colors full of beer and the options are well curated. Many of the best breweries in Florida, with a decent selection of great brews from other states. I also ended up buying a bottle of wine, as they had a great selection of Italian wines: Sangiovese, Montepulciano, Nabbiollo, etc. And the knowledge the owners show for both wine and beer is fantastic. How does it compare to the Metro Craft Beer Headquarters? I think Metro may have a slightly larger selection, but fewer brews you can buy by the single. Plus, I found many of the beers to be a dollar or two more expensive per can at Metro (example: $8.99 for a 450 North Slushie Sour versus Sandy's $6.99). As such, it would be prudent, economics wise, to see if you can exhaust Sandy's Shack prior to Metro, unless you have a need for a particular beer you know is more likely to be at Metro. The shop also does some free tastings and the owners are more than happy to give you an education on wine and/or beer. Highly recommend.

The brewery has a welcoming, laid-back vibe, plenty of seating, and a unique setting that celebrates both Florida culture and international soccer. Watching the Ecuador match surrounded by flags from around the world made the experience even more enjoyable. The beer selection is impressive, and the tasting flight is a fantastic way to explore different styles before choosing a favorite. Every beer I sampled was fresh, flavorful, and clearly crafted with care. Whether you enjoy light, refreshing pours or something more complex, there is something here for every palate. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was lively without feeling crowded, and the overall experience was excellent. If you're in Gainesville and appreciate good craft beer, a welcoming crowd, and a relaxed environment, Swamp Head Brewery is definitely worth a visit. I'll be back to try more of their beers.

When we lived in Broward, we would go to the local breweries all the time so we were excited to stumble across this place. We actually never heard of Swamp Head prior to coming here. I cannot count how many times we have been here but I know it's more than 20 times. The staff is usually very personable, friendly, and attentive. We did visit a lot more when we were new to the area but visit only about once every 3-4 months when in Gainesville. We used to bring our dog and were scolded by a staff member because she was barking at another dog nearby so we stopped bringing her. Meanwhile, dogs bark all the time in there and kids are running around screaming more often than dogs barking. So that kinda turned us off. I do not drink beer anymore but when I did, I loved their Czech themed beers and every once in a while, they had some rotating flavors that I thoroughly enjoyed. Every once and a while I will order a beer and do some extra insulin but it has to be special. This place is always busy, except if you get there earlier during the weekdays. There is plenty of outdoor seating and most times there is a food truck. They have so many events so follow their pages on social media to plan accordingly. The inside is pretty spacious but gets crowded. The prices are okay but surprisingly enough, we have had their beers cheaper at other bars in the areas. A great dog friendly stop for lunch. Outside they have shaded seating and dog bowls for your dogs. The bartender Carley was amazingly friendly and helpful! There are fun games outside and the inside is spacious and has very cool AC! So important for Florida summers. Stop by and check them out! We are really glad we did! Unfortunately, they only…read morehad 4 out of the 9 wines available for tasting but they offered the tasting for free due to the limited variety. Picking your own blueberries is $5 per pound. It was peaceful just walking among the blueberry bushes. It wasn't busy the Sunday early afternoon that I went. When I arrived no other person was in the wine tasting area. I was able to roam the blueberries with no one else around for like 20 min which was really relaxing.
