Why? 1) there's NO help with measuring your screens, just vague, verbal, seat-of-the-pants "guidelines"...no specific or written instructions at all...unless you want to pay the high-high service fee and have them do an on-site. DIY is sketchy at best 2) looong re-screening lead times...and actually, looooong lead times if buying new screens. We did both, it took 5-weeks for a small job. Not a big house we have. 3) They say they'll "contact you" when stuff is ready for pickup...guess what? Never a call...or email...or text. Nada 4) Rudeness. The super friendly gal who greeted me walked me down to the isle where the plumbing supplies were and ask what I was looking for, I was looking for a 1 1/4 threaded pvc cap, she pointed and told me I would find it in that general area, sure enough there it was , I thanked her for the outstanding service and she told me that that was just normal. If you don't have a sufficient overhang and your door will get a lot of sun during the day, then you'd be better served going with a fiberglass door which is built to withstand the elements. Wood has to be taken care by sheltering it from the sun / rain with an adequate overhang. Seal all 6 sides, especially the top and bottom where water has an easier time getting in. Lastly, if you're buying a wood door whether its Rogue Valley or Simpson, do your research. Ask questions. Plan ahead. These are special order doors so will take time to be built. Hire a qualified finisher and installer. But before anyone touches your new beautiful door, inspect it for any flaws. If you see something, say something. Resolve any potential issues right away.

My new Rogue Valley door is cheaply made and will require day of finishing work just to get it to paint quality. DO NOT BUY ROGUE VALLEY. And shame on Soundview for suggesting this company: I ordered a wooden SDL French exterior door with two sidelights for nearly $8,000 (installation was an additional $2,500). Matt, the salesperson, was great throughout the sales process. Unfortunately, everything went downhill after the installation began. The door arrived with a broken pane, gouges & tears in wood, peeling primer, and large globs of adhesive in all four corners of each of the 35 divided-light panes, which would make painting the door extremely difficult.
