Great to see that all of the Covid rules are being followed here. They offer sanitizer for the carts and your hands. This was my first trip to Diamond so when I walked in I was greeted and asked if they could help me. What a clean and friendly store, I was looking for plumbing parts for a project. The super friendly gal who greeted me walked me down to the isle where the plumbing supplies were and ask what I was looking for, I was looking for a 1 1/4 threaded pvc cap, she pointed and told me I would find it in that general area, sure enough there it was , I thanked her for the outstanding service and she told me that that was just normal. This store offered plants, building supplies, all the things that you would find at the big box stores , only they were focused on customer service. Came in for a second time to try and get help in ordering blinds and blinds for our slider, not one available employee to assist. The ones we spoke to two had no clue how to help. read more

I love these guys and soooo wish I could give them five stars. But, this current rating is because they are choosing to not enforce our Oregon mandate that ALL businesses and customers wear masks or other cloth covering when shopping at business establishments. Other large stores, including our WinCo and Safeway, are doing a great job w/ enforcement, as are smaller stores including Cartwright's and Rogue Roasters. So, it's not just doable, it's VERY doable. I spoke to a manager who said that when a customer comes in w/out a mask, an employee offers a mask to said customer. But.... didn't see this happening and in the span of 10 minutes, noticed 4 customers w/out masks. I think they are afraid to ask a maskless customer to wear a mask. Employees also say they can't ask about pre-existing health issues, but, they can CHOOSE to tell a maskless customer to use the outside pick-up service instead. And, they're not doing that, either. FYI, a month ago, there was a LOT more compliance. No more. Very disappointing and very sad. No one I know LIKES wearing a face covering. And that includes me! But, y'know, just trying to do the right thing. read more

We purchased cabinets, showers and toilets from Diamond. We went with the one contractor who they recommended as qualified and experienced to install their cabinets and showers. What a disaster!! Not only did we have to hire (and pay) another to fix this joke of a contractors work, but Diamond would take no responsibility by saying, "that issue is between you and the contractor". It is not like they recommended three and said make your pick; Richard said "this is your guy who does good work for us". We will never shop at this store again! It is one thing to stand by your products and someone who is supposedly qualified to install them, but another to not take responsibility, even partially when things go wrong! read more

The store is all ov​er the place and completly disorganized and the prices are way to high; finally, the people who work there Stereotype their customers instead of welcoming them in we get shook down. BEING ACCUSED OF STEALING! HOW EMBARESSING. ALL BECAUSE I USED THE RESTROOM! I walk in the GP store around 7:30 AM on Wednesday to buy a set of metric and standard size wrenches. I started to do the potty dance asked the front desk clerk where is the rest room? I use the restroom and walk back up front to finish buying wrenches. I Get confronted by a male employee and he asks what is in my front hoodie pocket. I take out a bottle and tell him juice that's it. I said why.? He then proceeded to ask me if i had any other (merchandise) on my person. I said i have no merchandise yet. Why are you doing this to me? I've done nothing. I come in here atleast once a week in the morning and buy something. I was hurt and embarrassed. The employee said it's because i used the restroom and had a bulge in my pocket. He Stereotyped me and thought i was there to stel. WRONG. I told him I'm not buying wrenches from here no more and walked out. All in all the worst embarrassing experience I've had ever gone through and or hopefully have to go through. read more

Location is near my home. Selection is great. I shop there regularly. However, keep in mind that much of their staff is very young, and they don't know where something is located. They can't give advice on products either, because they seem to have no repair experience. I look for the older employees because they are more knowledgeable. I've gotten bad directions from the "kids" who are frequently listening to music on their headphones. I found a piece of wood in the remnants pile and took it to the register. Wood is billed by the foot. The kid at the register couldn't figure out how to price it. I had to tell him to measure it and multiply by price per foot. He wanted to charge me for an 8' piece when I had a 4' piece of lumber. So I like Diamond but I use it as a self-service place. For advice from experienced employees I head to Home Depot or Ace. read more

Diamond is one of my favorite stores as I frequently shop there. Staff is always very friendly and work hard to go above and beyond customers expectation. Recently got some Leyland Cypress on sale and I must say the nursery girls were spot on and very knowledgeable about the product! Must say I will always shop there. Very good at honoring prices and honoring ads! Never had a problem with them and just LOVE THEM. read more

If I can go lower than one star I would. STORE HAS GONE COMPLETELY DOWN HILL. Store manager John S the worst ever. Came in to buy 10 trees that were on sale for 17.99 and needed to come back with trailer, when returning the trees went up to 29.99 which is strange at that. Ask to speak with manager and John S store manager said best he could do is 10% off. I explained the situation and he said nope he won't go lower. This small town store should be better service to the locals because Home Depot that is now here will be my go to now. I RECOMMEND SHOP HOME DEPOT IN GRANTS PASS where they match and honor prices and really take care of the locals. read more

I shop at Diamond often and always get wonderful customer service. They staff goes out of their way to help a customer find the product they are looking for, even if it is at a competitive business! The nursery department has an amazing selection of fertilizers and plants. Seriously, the have so many cool plants I've never heard of before! Unfortunately, several of the reviewers on this platform have given negative feedback because they missed sale prices and such. But that is your responsibility as a customer to shop during the sales and if you don't come in time it is your own fault! It is sad to see people trying to hurt local businesses simply because they want things for less money. read more

I have always been treated well here and the last call I made, the gal that answered phone had the friendliest voice a great attitude. Then there is Richard in the cabinet department who was so helpful - He is just great. On top of that, Joey at the contractors desk, called me several days after I asked for a quote on windows, to see if he could be of service to me. This place just keeps getting better and better. I visited Diamond last week. Was very impressed with the helpful CS. I was surprised, as the reviews mentioned how bad CS was. Went to the lumber dept, nursery department, and hardware dept. Received great CS. Was very pleased all items purchased were cheaper than Grange or HD. I will go back. It's a lot less busy, great CS and prices. read more

Gotta say the Grants Pass store is one heckofa improvement over the previous layout prior to its remodel. Well laid out, and Diamond has apparently hired personnel with common manners and some good customer service. How refreshing! The store remodel is an amazing improvement. Stocking levels could be higher, and the garden dept really needs to be open more often, but now I'll be a returning customer instead of an avoiding customer. **Note: giving Home Depot competition should be pretty easy...only a few tweaks needed (the local G.P. citizenry is pretty tired of HD's race to the bottom. If I could actually give them ZERO stars I would. My husband and I went there yesterday to specifically buy American flags to put up for 4th of July. They had 3X5 flags on sale --- normally $9.99 and a sign at the top of the display that stated 15% off AND it was in their ad both on their website and the newspaper. The cashier (who had no power obviously) rang them up and they came up to $10.19/each and not 15% off. When I called it to his attention, he called a manager. She was rude and told us she would give us all 3 flags for the $9.99 price (which was the regular right price) but would only give us 1 for 15% off. WHAT? Your end cap display and 2 ads both CLEARLY state that it says 15% off. Then she proceeded to walk over and TAKE DOWN the price tags for the flags and the 15% off sign while we were still standing at the register (I took a picture before she did it). I was not going to make a scene over $3 but I find this type of customer service behavior totally unacceptable. We have given Diamond our business every year to the tune of HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS but yesterday was the last day. You have lost a long time customer over $3. I hope you go out of business, you deserve it. read more

First time shopping here and we were very pleased. We had been looking for some lumber for an outside bench and their cedar was gorgeous. We had it cut to fit in our vehicle. First 2 cuts are free and then they charge .50 a cut. Customer service was great, store was well stocked and clean. We will definitely be back. read more

I give them 4 stars because they would have to pay me to get 5. There is always room for improvement but in this case I can't think of what that would be. There is pretty much always someone around to help me when I need specific direction. The staff is SO friendly and helpful. ... and patient. My house is 80 years old and when I moved in - in 2002, it was sadly in need of TLC. With DiAmond's help, my home has come a long way. I love this place! I would have picked zero stars if possible. Terrible customer service. They will not make it I think in light of so many other new companies in the area that service the individual customer. I checked out with zero conversation -- I didn't think that was possible. It was a young man who was as flat as flat can be and never said hello, never asked anything.....told me the total and treated me like I was a piece of crap interrupting his day. I won't be back. Customer service matters folks. Even if there are 20% of your customers who are treated this way--it's the difference between staying in business or not. read more

Much better selection and service than the big chain store in town. Diamond has the best inventory of hardware in Grants Pass. I find myself visiting DHI for one bolt, and end up leaving with a new submersible pump, certified wood stove, five rooms of flooring, six bags of mulch, and a new lighting system! And of course the complimentary popcorn at the entrance is a nice welcome. read more

Diamond is definitely working hard to improve their customer experience and compared to the corporate big box store, Diamond is awesome. I called to see if they had a specific sized window in stock as I was upgrading my shop. They said yes. When I arrived, that window could not be located. Without hesitation they upgraded to a larger and better one for the price of the lesser one. That won't happen at the big box! A few months later I needed some obscure fasteners. Assistant Mgr. Dave found a supplier and ordered them special for me without even asking for a deposit. A few days later I had what I needed that could not be found any where else in Grants Pass. Message to Diamond management: You are improving your customer service, keep on that track and you will beat the big box that has awful customer service (read my past experiences there and you will know why I won't set foot in their store ever again)! read more
