His goal seemed to be find something wrong with you, exaggerate the condition and then exploit it for as much profit as possible. Heaven forbid there actually be anything wrong with you. Any type of physical ailment, he will farm you out to someone else to treat. If you have a permanent condition that requires a pain medication stronger than a 81mg aspirin, forget it, he refuses to place his name on any prescription that could remotely be linked to a skeletal or muscular pain killer, muscle relaxer or nerve pain. To question his actions or the actions of his nurse Kasey is met with lecture and criticism upon you for daring to challenge their opinions and actions or in most of Dr Hemaya.'s cases, his inactions. If I was a doctor, I'd loathe being represented by such a staff. The front office makes mistakes that will cost you money because they don't know how to process insurance. Their manager takes no fault and will not place fault on her staff. This office is also routinely known for minor infractions of patient confidentiality. I could not be more disappointed in this office and will not return. It is a shame that the doctors, nurses and nurse practitioner must shoulder the burden of such an inadequate staff.

I arrived at 12:10 a.m. and was not taken to a room until 3:30 a.m. I understand ERs triage by acuity, so the wait alone is not my primary complaint. My concern is what happened once I was roomed. The treatment room was visibly dirty--full trash and dirty-linen receptacles, debris/hair on the floor, and a dirty pillow underneath the bed. I reported it to the nurse and was told it would be addressed. I also took photos documenting the conditions. Dr. Cox was the bright spot of the experience. He was caring, compassionate, and took my concerns seriously. Unfortunately, after he ordered my workup, there were significant delays. Radiology came twice to perform my CT but couldn't proceed because the required IV had not been placed. Despite multiple calls for assistance, my IV wasn't established until more than an hour after Dr. Cox evaluated me. After the shift change, my experience with Dr. Burley was completely different. I found his bedside manner dismissive, accusatory, and lacking compassion. I felt rushed out rather than treated like a patient whose concerns mattered. Between the dirty room, poor responsiveness, delays in ordered care, and dismissive discharge experience, I was extremely disappointed. I appreciate Dr. Cox's professionalism, but based on my overall experience, I would not return to Saint Luke's East for emergency care.

I am extremely disappointed with my experiences at this emergency room. People come to the ER…read morebecause they are sick, scared, or in pain and are looking for help. The last thing they need is to be treated without compassion or empathy. The triage nurse I encountered was extremely rude and made an already difficult situation even worse. If you work in healthcare, especially in an emergency room, kindness and compassion should be part of the job. Patients may already be having one of the worst days of their lives. A little patience, understanding, and even a smile can make a huge difference. The wait times are also absolutely insane. Waiting 5-6 hours to be seen is unacceptable, especially for people who are sick and suffering. Every time I come here, the wait seems to be the same. Perhaps the hospital should consider expanding the ER and adding more doctors and nurses to help meet the demand. It may also be worth considering having separate areas for patients with less urgent illnesses and those experiencing true emergencies, so that people can be treated according to the seriousness of their condition. I truly hope the hospital takes these concerns seriously. Patients deserve to feel heard, respected, and cared for when they come to the ER for help. Compassion costs nothing, and it can make all the difference to someone who is already hurting.
