My experience with Kevin, the owner, at his shop was absolutely wonderful. After my father and grandfather both passed away, I received their ranch belts. I had been wanting to be able to wear them, of course, but needed to have them sized. Recently, I was heading to Virginia City for a wedding, and very last minute, it crossed my mind that maybe someone up there specialized in leather. I'm so glad I looked it up and came across this shop! I took my favorite pair of Wolverine 1000 mile boots to Kevin and he did an amazing job in less than 24 hours. The new soles are fitted perfectly and will provide much better winter traction than the slick soles they came with. He also conditioned the leather so they shine like new and are protected from the elements. I was so impressed with his work that I brought him a second pair of black Cole Han shoes that I had thoroughly abused the soles of and the toes were scraped and ugly. Somehow Kevin was able to resole the shoe and put an amazing shine on the toe. While talking to him about my boots he recommended putting a protective sole on when a shoe/boot is new to preserve the leather sole. I just happened to have a new pair of boots in the mail, which I immediately took to Kevin for a sole. He once again did an amazing job, the traction sole looks like it came from the factory, and I won't be falling on my but every time the parking lot freezes over. I can't say enough about the quality of work done at a fair price and in a timely manner. read more

Beautiful shoes and wonderful care in their production. Leffler makes shoes. He does not see himself as a cobbler, someone who might fix leather-products he did not make. The previous leather-worker at this location, Randall Tobey took such good care of my family's leather products for so many years. He will be missed. I once took Mr Tobey a bag I'd purchased from a high-end retailer. The bag had cost more than I'd wanted to pay but it looked great. After only four months of light use the leather straps had given out and all the leather on the bag was showing less than stellar quality. It felt broken down. Busted. I took it to Mr Tobey. He not only replaced the busted straps but he reinforced the handle. He discreetly embedded metal supports in the bag that I couldn't even tell were there. He replaced the faulty leather. A bag destined for the trash became a treasure. Mr Leffler is a craftsmen and may make you a treasure. But if you give him something precious he didn't make he will probably turn his nose up at you and tell you to go find someone less expert. If someone knows a decent cobbler let me know. Love the shop! The coolest part is the atelier is right there so you get to see the process! And they have such cool leather, the sting ray was so interesting. The friendly and approachable Kevin did such an amazing job with the first two pair boots, and I was so impressed, that I brought in a third pair of boots for him to work his magic. I try to reuse as much as possible, so when I wore holes the soles of my boots, and a boot hook broke on a pair of hiking boots, I wanted to see if they could be repaired before tossing them in a landfill and buying new ones. He did a masterful job and the turn around time was much quicker than I expected. He also have my boots one hell of a shine. In addition to repairs, he also makes custom shoes.
