Hands down, the BEST decision we made about our trip to Paris. I absolutely can't recommend Left Bank Scooters, Thierry and Marion enough. This was truly the highlight of our trip and offered such a unique, intimate way to see the city. I felt like I fell in love with Paris the moment we hopped on our adorable pistachio and cherry red Vespa's to go explore. We opted for the half day Paris tour with Thierry. We arrived in Paris on April 28th for my 30th birthday and had some rainy weather predicted for our tour date. Marion was incredibly accommodating when we asked at the 11th hour to switch our tour date from April 30th to May 1st instead, hoping for better weather! We're so glad we switched - the weather cleared up and we just had a few scattered clouds whiled we cruised around Paris with Thierry. We had already been in Paris for a few days taking in the usual sights, so Thierry happily obliged to take us to some other neighborhoods and sites we still wanted to see. We got to see the university, the Latin Quarter, The Père Lachaise cemetery, Montmartre and the Sacred Heart, Hemingway's house, the Marais neighborhood with its boutiques, the Louvre and so much more! Our favorite aspect of Left Bank Scooters was the ability we had to keep the scooters for the rest of the day/overnight. This allowed us to take in the sights on our own and really get to see all of Paris at our own pace. It was absolutely magical! My fiancé and I, and our two friends literally drove all over the city. They provide comfortable helmets and gloves, which were much appreciated on the chilly day we had. If you're on the fence on whether to do this activity or not - DO IT. It's 110% worth every penny. You will get to experience Paris in such a unique way that no hop-on-hop-off bus tour could ever do. As a side note, I was nervous about driving in a foreign country, but my fiancé and his friend drove while us ladies rode on the back. Best decision made! We originally just wanted to rent a scooter and just explore Paris on our own. But since the price for a private tour was very reasonable, we opted for the tour as well and we are definitely recommending this to everyone. Daniel was our guide and he was awesome! We knocked out all the main attractions and even some hidden gems in just 3 hours! Daniel not only tells us the history but also add stories to each of the attractions so we can remember them better! This was an amazing way to see the city. I would highly recommend doing this especially if you are comfortable driving a scooter yourself! Our tour guide "Terry" was awesome! We had a private tour, just my husband and I, and the fun facts and knowledge he had about the city was great! We rode a bit, stopped and took in the sights, learned about the history of monuments and churches, then back on the scooter! Our 3 hour tour went by way too fast! There were a few showers however they supplied us with jackets and gloves as well as helmets! I would definitely book them again for another tour!! read more

My husband and I did the highlights tour with Thierry. It was so amazing and definitely a highlight of our trip! My husband has experience driving mopeds and motorcycles so he felt comfortable jumping in, I would not have been, but Thierry was great at being aware of where we were and showing us as much of Paris as time would allow. I heard about Left Bank Scooters from Trip Advisor and read the great reviews. Well, everyone was right -- Adam is great and easy to work with when making your reservations and Mark, our guide was fantastic. We took the 1/2 day tour and Mark and Adam arrived at our hotel promptly at 10AM to begin our tour. We were the only people on the tour which made things nice as we were able to customize where we wanted to go! We saw the main attractions and monuments in Paris and had a chance to learn all about the history. Mark was very knowledgeable and also gave us some tips on where to go shopping and what was worth seeing. If you're limited on time (or not interested in seeing all of the museums) but want to see the lay of the land and get great shots outside the most important monuments, the tour is the way to go! Paris is very scooter friendly and we felt safe the entire time and had a complete blast! Although the tours are pricy (for Americans right now anyway), it is definitely worth doing and being part of the city just as the Parisians are :) read more

As part of the deal when the Boyfriend and I were planning our trip to Paris, I had to give him one day of the 10 day trip to him to plan out. He wanted to do extra-ordinary for our trip to Paris. Left Bank Scooters is a worthy choice to make any Paris trip memorable; however they are pricey as you are looking at about 250 euro if you want to drive the basic Vespa, and additional 50 euro if you want to ride along. The tour the Boyfriend had chosen was the scooter trip out to Versailles. One thing to know is that the scooter will take you there, but admission to Versailles is NOT included, I recommend that you definitely pick up a 4-day Paris Museum Pass for your trip and block off one day to go and visit Versailles. The tour covers the guide and getting you there and back on the Scooter, everything else like lunch is excluded. Our tour guide,Theirry, picked us up on time at the studio we had rented for our trip, for the week. There was a quick crash tutorial on how to drive the scooter and off we went. Left Bank also provides "wet weather" gear; which was needed for our trip; since it was a gray and drizzly day. But I would recommend that you should definitely check out the weather report before your scheduled day, because the wet weather gear protects your upper body, but your lower half will definitely get damp. Riding through Paris streets early in the morning is probably one of the most magical things that we had done while we were there - the route chosen took us up the Champs-Elysee and through the roundabout and on to Versailles via Bois de Boulogne and Parc de Saint-Cloud. Theirry was amazing as a tour guide, telling us a few neat things about Paris that we, as tourists, might not have known at all. Another thing about this tour is that there was only one other couple with us; and they were a bit better at keeping up with Theirry. I should, also, mention that unless you have had at least some experience driving a scooter/motorcycle or something very similar (Cars not included in this catagory), you will find it difficult to keep up in some cases, especially getting used to driving in traffic on a scooter as they seem to go every which way, with no discernable direction. One master tip from Theirry was that if the vehicle is coming from the left ignore it, if it is come from the right, yield. ( or at least that what I remember him saying....- Either way, you may need to pay attention to the crash tutorial) Arriving at Versailles, scooters are actually pretty much allowed to drive up to the gates and park off to the side. Theirry took us on a tour of the Versailles Gardens and gave us a few insights on the gardens that we probably would not have wandered off to see - then off we went to do our own exploring of the chateau itself on our own for about an hour or so. Then we got back on our scooters and drove off to explore the Trianons, which was pretty nice since we got to explore Trianon and the Hamlet on our own just ambling along. Coming back from Versailles was probably one of the scariest things of my life, as we had hit Paris Rush Hour Traffic, and it was nuts! but memorable, weaving in and out of lanes and between trucks and buses. Overall, Left Bank Scooters is definitely a splurge type of activity for a trip, but I did find it worthwhile. Memorable for a few reasons, for riding a scooter through the streets of Paris; experience European traffic and extra bonus, is that it is a great way to talk your Significant Other out of getting that motorcycle license without actually having to do anything. read more

I'm so behind on writing this review. I fell in love with Paris but one of the best parts of my trip was taking a tour with Adam. My friend was able to set up our reservation with him via e-mail and from my understanding, he was very easy to deal with. On the morning of our reservation, Adam arrived promptly at our hotel. We went over a lot of into including safety, what the tour entails, blah blah blah and then we took a test spin! Adam is extremely knowledgeable even though he was not born and raised in Paris. I was a little scared at first going around the Arc de Triomphe (um hello, that traffic is intense!) but Adam kept at a pace I could follow. I don't know much about Vespas but man, the ones you get for the rental must be the creme de la creme because tourists were taking photos of me AND I had Parisian guys riding up to me hitting on me. NICE! Anytime I have friends going to Paris, I recommend a tour with Adam. Do yourself a favor and book one! read more

Just got back from an epic whirlwind of an adventure with Thierry from Left Bank scooters. What an incredible experience overall. I feel like I've experienced every facet of Paris in 9hrs! Picked up at the hotel at 0900hrs sharp, a quick tutorial and we were off to the Latin quarter to pick up another wonderful couple. Then the adventure really started. Thierry is extremely knowledgable, professional and friendly. It felt like our friend from Paris was showing us around his neighbourhood. Very personal and engaging. We ripped around Paris hitting all the popular spots. We even had lunch at the cafe featured in Amelie. (Gotta rewatch that) The entire trek was completely exhilarating. It got a little scary a times, but Thierry always guided us to safety. The all day Paris Vespa scooter tour is a "must do" if only in Paris for a few days or a whole week like we are. It really helps shrink down the City and surrounding areas. I'd like to pretend I know my way around now, but that's not the case. I couldn't imagine hitting even half the spots without a guide. All you need to need to do is follow your guide. Once at the key spots, Thierry provided us with an excellent commentary and historical facts of what we were experiencing. So much knowledge and experiences in one day. We've really enjoyed our time in Paris, but I'm certain this will the be the absolute highlight of the trip. I totally recommend these guys if your looking for an adventure. It's definitely a great way to see Paris and all the sites. I decided to rent from Left Bank Scooters while in Nice and that was pretty much one of the best ideas I've ever had. My boyfriend and I had so much fun that I decided to rent again with them on a later trip to Paris. Riding a scooter through the French seaside is the BEST way to see it. Especially if you're planning on visiting Nice, I highly suggest booking a scooter and taking a thirty minute ride up to Monaco. They are extremely polite and professional and showed up fifteen minutes early to drop off our scooter. I am planning on booking with them again in the future. P.S. My wife and I spent two weeks touring in Paris from the catacombs to the towers of Notre Dame. And the first thing we mention to anyone is riding scooters down the Champs-Élysées. Thierry and Marion promptly booked the tour from their website and delivered and picked up scooters at our apartment in the Latin Quarter. And Thierry safely guided us through the morning traffic down the Champs-Élysées, around the Arc de Triomphe, and out to the Palace of Versailles. We skipped the long entry lines and tour of the palace to walk through the gardens with Thierry. (He can explain how for a few extra euros you can skip the extremely long lines for a guided tour. Our recommendation is to come back another day by RER train and enjoy your time with Thierry on the scooters.) Our guide Thierry was a wonderful companion, spoke English like a native (having worked in Australia), and freely shared his love and knowledge of French history and current events. After leaving the gardens of Versailles, we visited La Salle du Jeu de Paume (The Royal Tennis Courts) in the shadow of the palace where the French Revolution began (before the storming of the Bastille). Let Thierry tell you about the block of original stone from the Bastille carved into a model of the Bastille at La Salle du Jeu de Paume. Afterwards, we toured the valley of Versailles visiting Villiepreux and Chavenay and the boundaries of the palace grounds. When we returned to Paris, Thierry gave us a quick ride through the Latin Quarter near our apartment and showed us his favorite cafe (L'Epoque) which we enjoyed on another day. We kept the scooters for an extra day and that evening did a self-guided "City of Light" tour of Notre Dame, Les Invalides, the Eiffel Tower, and Arc de Tromphe. And the next day we used the scooters to do some shopping in the Marais and up and down the hills of Montmarte. This was the BEST way to see Paris! read more

I would be very cautious with renting with this company. The photos provided on their website are nothing like what they look like in person. While I personally have scooter experience, these ones are very large and extremely hard to handle. Before booking the scooters, the host informed us that the scooters were meant to be for single passenger, yet they were more than large enough for at least two passengers. After letting the host know that the scooters are nothing like the ones displayed on the website and that we were uncomfortable with the size (especially since she had also just mentioned that many people get into accidents on her scooters), she agreed to a refund. However, after leaving the country, we followed up with the host and she then let us know that she would not be refunding any amount, even though we had not taken the scooters even out of the garage. In addition to not refunding the money, the host then charged us each an additional $30 without notifying my group. We have attempted to email her and she is very unresponsive, taking over a couple of days to respond each time. This was a very bad experience during our vacation in Paris, if you would still like to enjoy a scooter experience, I would most definitely look into another company. Just returned from a week long trip to Paris with my wife which included an all-day Paris scooter tour with Left Bank Scooters and Thierry as our guide. This was definitely the highlight of the trip. Definitely worth the money and time. There is no better way to see Paris than on a scooter and Thierry is the ultimate tour guide. His knowledge of Paris history is second to none. I hadn't drove a Vespa in some time so I took a half-day lesson in the US before coming over and I had no problems driving the scooter on Paris streets. My daughter and I rented scooters from Left Bank scooters in June. It was the most awesome experience one could have, especially if you already like dirt bikes or motorized things. Dealing with Adam and Adele via email made me nervous, but worked out extremely well. Adam and Adele could not be nicer to work with to schedule what you want. We did three tours; the Paris night tour, the Paris day tour, and the city of Versailles. We were lucky enough to get Pablo for a guide. Pablo was funny, witty, and extremely knowledgeable about Paris and French history. Even though we were already avid riders, we felt extremely safe with Pablo. This was absolutely the most awful experience I've ever had with a company. My friends and I were so excited to be renting scooters in Paris, and when we met with the representative to pick up our scooters, the "scooters" were definitely not that. These were more comparable to motorcycles, and were nothing like we had driven before or what we had expected based on the photos provided to us prior by the representative. We did not go through with the experience because of how aggressively these "scooters" seemed. When explaining the situation to the representative, we mentioned how these did not look anything like what was on the website or in the photos provided to us via e-mail, and were much too powerful and large for our comfort level. Due to this misconception, we asked for a refund and she agreed. However, when following up with the company afterwards, the same representative said that she would not issue us a refund, and instead charged us additionally even though we did not use the "scooters" at all that day due to the misconception from the company. This is absolutely a scam, do NOT rent scooters from this company. They have awful customer service and made us think the scooters we would be renting would be much smaller than they actually were, which is why we had decided to book with them in the first place. the hubby suggested we rent scooters for our recent paris vacation and it was the best part of our trip! we opted for the half day tour but a full day rental. they will drop off the vespa at your hotel in the morning around 9am and then come back in the afternoon for the half day tour of the city. the cost to rent the scooter is 90 Euros per day + 40 euros per day for GPS/navi (a must!) and 50 Euros for each additional person. it truly is the BEST way to view and get around the city of lights! read more

My brother recently took a vacation to Paris and after searching on the internet I found Left Bank Scooters to surprise him with a one day Vespa rental. I communicated with Adam from Left Bank Scooters through email and he made everything so easy!! He was always so quick to get back to me on my emails and made the process of buying the gift certificate so easy. He additionally took it upon himself to make up an awesome gift certificate which he attached on email so I could print it out for Christmas to give to my brother. Unfortunately, when my brother arrived to Paris the weather was horrible so my brother didn't feel comfortable driving the Vespa. Adam was completely understanding and refunded my money. After day dreaming about riding a scooter through Paris, I did some googling and came upon Left Bank. I did their 24 hour rental. Adam dropped it off at the flat we were renting and picked it up the next day. He gave me a quick once over and I was off and running. The Vespa was the best way to get around town. We rode all over town during the day and then did the tourist sites at midnight when nobody was around. So amazing. I will definitely be renting from Adam next time I'm in town. read more

My girlfriend and I had a Paris highlights tour with this company. Marion kept great communication with me and was able to accommodate our request for a red Vespa. Nicolas was our tour guide and he was very nice and informative about all the places we stopped. Even though the weather was wet and cold, he was in great spirits the entire time. He constantly asked us what sites we wanted to see and made sure that the guide was tailored to us. He even went out of his way and walked us to our exact destination at the end of the tour. Great way to see everything. But without the lines! We did a full day tour at versailles And we did a night tour of Paris When you visit paris. You always hear about the lines and you always hear its a lot of wakkng and metro. I personally dont getting lost and i hate looking like an idiot. And especially sincd i dont speak the language. Thierry was our guide both days. And was wonderful. We got to feel like an ACTIVE part of the trip instead of sitting in a tour bus or spending half the day lost or finding the right bus or metro. My wife and i felt like were really efficient because Thierry had it all figured out for us. So no planning was needed! The motorcycle with side car was perfect for the two of us and we could therefore take a bunch of pictures videos and selfies. For an english speaker Thierry is the best! read more

Left Bank Scooters was great. My wife and I finally got a chance to visit France and had two quick days in Paris before our Sienne river cruise. We visited the Louvre the first day and had booked the Vespa tour of Versailles the next day. Our guide Thierry was absolutely fantastic! I had not been on any kind of motorized bike in over 20 years but after a quick run-down of the features and a crash course on French traffic rules, off we went. Because I was inexperienced, my wife rode with Thierry which was great because it was like getting a guided tour of Paris on the way to Versailles. We had to stop to pick up one other couple so we had quite a nice little ride through morning Paris traffic. Although inexperienced, I was easily able to follow Thierry and my wife and when traffic separated us, Thierry always stopped somewhere visible and made sure I knew where he was. We added the other couple and then we were on our way to Versailles. Once outside Paris, the country rides were fun to ride and the scenery was fantastic. At Versailles, the line to get in was extremely long so Thierry suggested that we your the gardens first. We took a nice long walk around the enormous Versailles grounds and Thierry provided excellent facts about the various fountains, gardens, and sites we visited. When went back to the front of Versailles to check out the line and it was still long so Thierry suggested we take the Vespas and visit Marie Antoinette's Chateau, Le Petite Trianon, which we did. That was a nice ride and tour, again we a lot of interesting history and facts provided by Thierry. The thing I liked most about Thierry was that he had a great sense of humor which really added to the tour! We then went back to the front of Versailles and the line was shorter so we finally decided to wait and enter the estate. It was magnificent and again Thierry added quite a bit of "color" to the tour with interesting tidbits of information and humor! After the tour, Thierry took us to an amazing creperie for an outstanding (and very filling) lunch! We strolled through some gardens after lunch and then grabbed our Vespas and headed back to Paris. Thierry took us back a different way which was great as we saw new things on the way back as well. The trip back was more relaxed as we went through woods and secluded country roads until we re-entered Paris and had to navigate the round-about at L'Arc Du Triumphe at rush hour; talk about an adventure! Thierry, though, was great and made sure both Vespas following made it through the madness safely!! The tour ended right back at our hotel where we started with good-byes to both Thierry and the other couple!! I highly recommend Left Bank Scooters and a Vespa tour of Paris or Versailles, it is a fantastic way to really experience Paris! Also, while I am sure the other guides are great, I strongly recommend Thierry as he is kind, patient, funny, interesting and enjoyable to tour with!! We rented scooters from Left Bank Scooters in June and had a great experience. We had my 70 year old mother with us (she rode with Adam), my 15 year old daughter rode with another guide and my husband and I rode on one together. We took the Versailles tour and it was the highlight for my husband and daughter. I loved it too, but was a little more worried because I'm a mom and we worry a little more - the risk of injury was always on my mind! Seeing Paris on a Vespa is an incredible experience and the only way to do so with ease and efficiency is through Left Bank Scooters. The service was tremendous!! They dropped off the scooter on time and exactly as planned and they picked it back up from us in the same location after we had logged possibly 200 miles and ran through close to two tanks of petrol. We explored areas of the city we never would have ventured into and zipped around day and night, seeing what is arguably the most beautiful city in in the world. My husband and I rented a scooter the first part of July 2014. I hoped for normal weather; 70-80 degrees and a little sun. It was low 60's and rainy but we stuck with the rental. Adam delivered the scooter, twice, since Air France delayed the flight by 2 hours.The scooter ran great; that was all that went right. The Garmin I brought along could not connect to satellites so we were stuck with paper maps getting wet. It was exciting driving, splitting lanes and jumping ahead of other vehicles. We will not go back to Paris, people are kind of nice, food just ok, hotel room was small. As far as the city of lights, we saw one; Adam and I think he was from Australia. Nice young man. read more

We just returned from an amazing trip to Paris!! The city itself is breathtaking but seeing it from the view of a Vespa made it incredible! Taking the Vespa tour and keeping the bike for another day made out entire trip... The idea of driving a Vespa to me was a bit scary but once Adam met us and showed us how it worked, it was quite easy. I am not a "motorcycle guy" but I didn't need to be to drive these. I was also concerned about traffic and other cars but Vespa's have been around in Paris for so long they make up about 40% of the traffic! That was good news for us because we felt completely safe and found that cars respected us and shared the road. Now on to the good stuff! I first contacted South Bank Scooters after reading some great reviews. Adele' was pleasant to speak with and really helped create our plan. We decided to do a Private Full Day Tour with Adam which turned out to be perfect. They really listened to what we wanted to see and they tailored our day completely around our interests. We saw more of Paris in those 8 hours than most do in an entire vacation! Adam took us to all the major monuments but then added in some authentic French stops that we would never get to experience on a "big tour". For lunch we went to a quaint French Bed and Breakfast. The food was amazing and the inn keeper was extremely nice. The history behind the Inn was also astounding. It had been in business since the 1500s! It really showed us a truly a unique and intimate side of Paris. After lunch, Adam asked if we went to the top of the Eiffel Tower yet. We hadn't because the lines had been so long. Almost excited by the news, Adam then suggested our next stop should be La Tour Montparnasse, France's tallest skyscraper that offers better views than the Eiffel Tower. We arrived and instantly boarded an elevator straight to the top without even seeing a hint of a line. The views were truly incredible but the best part was the skyline actually included the Eiffel Tower so it felt more like Paris! After a few more stops, Adam then took us to a little Café to enjoy one of Paris's favorite past times- coffee! The Café was once again authentic and impressive. All around us were local Parisians enjoying their midafternoon break. The best thing about this particular Café was the view. Adam had selected a shop that sat on one of the few hills in Paris so we once again could enjoy the views overlooking the city. Just as the sun was setting, we arrived at the Sacré-Cœur Basilica. What a perfect place to enjoy the sunset! The church had magnificent views of the city plus tons of "street entertainers" to appreciate. There was also an area with all kinds of paintings and images by local artist. The prices were reasonable and it was a great way to buy something unique. (I don't like any of the cheap tourist trap stuff so this was perfect...) We had so much fun on the Vespa's that we kept it for the second day. I definitely advise keeping it because you will certainly want to go back to some of your favorite spots and you'll also want to see stuff that you didn't make it to yet. When you keep it for the second day, get the GPS!! It was the best investment we could have made!! Having the GPS allowed us to pick and choose anything we wanted to see, plug it in the GPS and off we went. It also kept us on track and never let us get lost. Even when I missed a turn or went the wrong way, the GPS simply recalculated and put us back on track. The streets of Paris are a bit confusing, having the GPS saved us time and allowed us to go and do anything we wanted. (like a computerized Adam!) With the Vespa, you never have to look for parking and it's a lot cheaper than trying to take a cab to all the spots you want to see... Definitely worth the money!! One thing I forgot to mention- The Pictures!! Not only did we get to take tons of great shots but Adam offered to grab our camera at almost every stop and took pictures of us in front of all the sites. It's great to go home with pictures of what you saw but even better when you both get to be in them! Now that we are back, the pictures are 10 times better with us both in them. It was like having our own professional photographer along for the tour! Conclusion: Take the Tour, Keep the Scooter for an extra day and get the GPS! Worth every penny!! read more

Renting a scooter from Left Bank Scooters was a really great experience and smooth process. I was a bit worried about how safe it was to run around Paris on a scooter with my newly married wife behind me but it turned out that I had been worrying in vain.
