Paris Bike Co. is the best! I have ridden twice in France now with an intrepid group of French and American cyclists. The first randonée, summer 2012, we carefully boxed our bikes and mine arrived in Paris in some disarray after TSA had rifled through and repacked it carelessly. Had to fix that crazy bike's derailleur three times before it was right. Fast forward two years and our club's French president found Sam. An angel (he can fix anything), hero (he will fix anything) and clown all in one great guy with a heart of gold, a love of cycling and a fleet of high end bikes. The two-week rental fee was less than the cost of shipping and no bike box to negotiate through customs! With careful attention to detail before we arrived, Sam delivered a bike (and 20 others for fellow Yankees) to our hotel day 1 that felt as good as my own - actually it was a much better bike than my own. We were doubly lucky that he rode the ~1000 km with us and I'm a better rider now thanks to his always positive, spot-on tips along the way. Thank you Sam!! read more

When I was going to France decided not to carry my Bike with me.Decided to rent one. Thru the friends and Bicycle club members suggestion We rented Bicycles from Paris Bike Co. then Sam (the owner) contacted via e-mail and ask the dimensions for my bike, and sent a sketch where to measure.. I thought that was great, maybe this time from a bicycle shop I will get something smilar to my bicycle.. When Sam brought the Bike which I rented and will be using next 15 days... I was so impressed I thought, I was riding my own bicycle. I had to look down and check if I was on my own bicycle, it was sure a different brand then mine. The service we got on the road from Sam was incredible. He even clean the bicycles during the night time, and tune them up.The bicycle worked like a champ and never missed a beat.. Sam, the owner of Paris Bike Co., is the best. Sam has that rare combination of being a great guy and a master of his craft. I rode and shared meals with Sam on a two week Normandy club ride last summer. Sam provided high end road bikes to most of the riders. Sam gathered everyone's home bike measurements and set up his bikes to match your fit. He did an excellent job. It's delightful to be a tourist in Paris and visit all the historical sites. But if you have a passion for road biking, I highly recommend renting a bike from Sam and experiencing the beautiful countryside around Paris. Sam will set up with a bike, directions and anything else you need. He'll even come along if you want a guide. Paris, France is many kilometers from my local bike rides. Paris Bike Company is superb, owned and run by Sam Weaver. I (along with most of the others in a group of about 35) rented bikes from him in late June / early July, 2014, for a two-week tour around Normandy, starting and leaving from Versailles. He provided high-end bikes (carbon-fiber Cannondales), for a very reasonable fee, fitted the bikes perfectly, and joined us on the tour as a mechanic fixing any problems or break-downs that occurred. He was not only a joy to be around, but also went far above and beyond what anyone could reasonably expect for such service. The two week cost was less than what I would have had to pay to have my bike shipped to Paris for such a trip. I would strongly recommend him for any bike rentals or tours you might consider in France. read more

This is really a top-notch service. I contacted Sam a couple of weeks prior to my visit to Paris and reserved a bike for a week. When I arrived in Paris, he dropped off the bike at my hotel with a helmet, flat kit, and a map (and later picked it up when I was done). The bike was in tip-top condition, with no problems in my week of riding. Sam even invited me to join him on a 100 km ride through the region southwest of Paris for some good hill training, and I had a wonderful time seeing chateaux and hitting some of the Tour de France routes outside of Paris. This service enabled me to continue my triathlon training while out of the country for a week, and may have helped in me to race a sub-10 hour Ironman a few months later. Thanks, Sam! read more

I live in the USA and signed up for a bike race/ride between Paris and Amsterdam in Sept 2013... I wasn't too keen on shipping my own bike across and searched for a rental in Paris without any luck... until i came across Paris Bike Co. It was the best experience - nice, responsive, friendly, super easy to do business with. And the bike (Cannondale Synapse Six) was even better than mine back home! We had exchanged the fitting measurement by email and was perfect fit right away. It was in perfect condition and came with everything i needed for the ride and they even offer delivery / pick-up of the bike before / after the ride! Sam and his Paris Bike Company made my February Paris trip perfect. Sam loaded GPS courses of varying distances and made sure I understood how to ride in Paris. With a shakedown ride to Versailles together on a Sunday, there was no better way to get to know the region around Paris than from Sam. This was my first trip to Paris and I was a little concerned I might not be comfortable with transitioning from US road cycling culture to France. First experience, 2013: Sam met me at my train station destination to deliver a bike. Can't possibly ask for better service than that! Second experience, 2014: Sam took care of our bike club. He delivered beautiful Cannondale carbon fiber bikes fit precisely to specifications we'd sent ahead. The bikes were flawless. Sam's service was above and beyond the call of duty: he was really helpful and great to be around. The rental rate for Sam's bikes is about what I would have paid the airlines to ship my bike both ways. Renting from Sam is much less hassle: you don't have to drag your bike to the airport, and then from CDG to the train to the metro to the hotel etc. I can't recommend Sam's service any more highly. read more

One of this weekend in paris in the middle of a business trip... rather than queuing at the Tour eiffel, I decided to do what the locals like to do every weekend: jump on a bike and explore the countryside. Amazingly enough, Paris is a very big city and you'll hardly believe you can ride the country with farms, horses and chateaux in just about 30mn. Rather than picking-up the local "velib", I opted for the best of the best, Sam's Paris Bike Co top notch cannondale. We left early in the morning with a bunch of "petite reine" enthousiasts coming from all horizons and that was it, felt like riding the Tour de Francein the outskirts of "le ville de la lumiere". This was my second time renting a bike from the Paris Bike Co. Sam had other clients that day, so I rode with his colleague, Louis. We had a great ride around the south of Paris through the Chevreuse valley. The bike, a top end Cannondale, could not have been better fit or tuned, and was ready and waiting when I arrived. Sam and Louis were more than accommodating, by finding in the perfect route for my time and the weather. Louis rode at my pace the entire time, spoke excellent English (being from California), and made sure we were always safe and on the right path. Excellent communication and service. My wife and I planned a trip to France and we wanted to include some time on the bike. We sent Sam our bike fits as well as the type of saddles we were using, and he nailed it! We went for our first ride for 50 plus miles the only difference we noticed was that the bike were different, but the fit for both me and my wife was perfect. I, too, was part of the group of 35 who rode in France the summer of 2014. I took my own collapsible bike and then regretted it when I saw the high-end bikes that 21 of my fellow cyclists had rented from Sam. They were lightweight and fit everyone well. When two of his bikes became available due to cyclists' not being able to stay until the end of our ride, Sam kindly fitted the 2 different bikes to me so that I rode our last 2 80-mile days on bikes that were much lighter than my own. Sam is a gentleman, an athlete, a comedian and a downright legend. I wanted to ride when I was in Paris - he made it so ridiculously easy. Gave me a great bike and a map and I had a great ride at Bois de Bologne. But the cherry on top was a ride out into the French countryside with my father - 80-oddkms of beautiful countryside, and Sam made us feel safe, comfortable and gave me one of the best experiences in may trips. Sam rigged my Surly LHT touring bike which faithfully accompanies me on roadtrips throughout france and beyond, all I can say he did an extraordinary job, so far I haven't even got a puncture. I joined the 31 . Lafayette Ride from Versailles to Omaha Beach June/July 2014 with my wife. We rented our bikes at Paris Bike.
