Hired this Company for a day out side of Dana Point Harbor sport fishing. We asked for a day of fishing off shore and would really like to see some ocean mammals as well please. There were two of us women with fishing experience looking for a fishing adventure for the day in this area. We were not disappointed from the start: the Captain of Left Coast Sportfishing was very polite, personable, kind, knowledgeable and very helpful!!! The boat seemed to be a newer Parker, clean, comfortable, well equipped and fast. The weather was perfect and the water smooth with a little wind. The bait guy seemed to know the Captain and gave us lots of bait. ( this Captain is a friendly sort). Anyway to sum the day up, it was a great day, just what we were looking for. Fished four locations, ( this company has lots of cool fishing gear, well equipped tackle) we fished Kelp forests and a sunken boat. Caught lots of calico bass (in the Kelp) didn't keep those too small, mackle (kept we like oily fish) and some large sand bass (kept) caught over the sunken boat which the Captain was skillful to place us over several times. Saw barracuda caught one but too small. The Captain found a large pod of Common Dolphins, that stayed with us swimming the bow as the captain motored forwarded slowly. That was just so much fun to watch the Dolphins swimming with our boat. In Conclusion I will say we will be recommending this Company to family and friends that visit the area and want a positive ocean adventure, fishing or just out on the ocean. read more

We had SUCH a fun time on the boat with Chris. He's hysterical, first off, and makes you feel very comfortable right off the bat. I honestly haven't laughed that hard in a long time, my cheeks hurt from smiling. He's incredibly knowledgable and hospitable as well. He filleted our fish and packed it all, ready to go home. I also loved how clean his boat was and he really kept it clean the entire trip and hosed it down every time he brought in a fish. He knows the best spots and we caught 10 fish in 3 hours! He's also very patient, I'm a novice and my hubby has lots of experience and he gave me some tips that really helped and I was able to catch a fish right after he gave me a few pointers! It was a great time for a beginner like me and a more experienced fisherman like my hubby. It was such a fun day! We went on a full day trip with Chris to Catalina Island early April and had to much fun, it was an incredible experience! Chris kept us hopping if the fish weren't biting in a certain location, and tried new techniques. At the end we came into some bonita which was a ton of fun. We came back with some nice rock fish, white fish and bonita, had to throw back a halibut but fun to catch! If you are looking to book a trip, you gotta call Chris. He's the man! read more

Great private fishing charter to escape the crowed open party boats in Dana Point CA. Captain Chris is experienced, friendly and personable. His boat is well maintained and loaded with everything needed for fishing. Fished the local islands and caught yellow tail, bass and bonita. Came home with lots of meat for friends and family. Chris is the man. Relaxed, friendly, nice and on the other side professional and well organized. All worked perfect. My son caught his first ever fish. Chris is excellent with children. He also never gives you the feeling you are a paying costumer. He also does not count every minute of service or gives you an extra-bill petrol or water. Excellent from start to finish. We used Left Coast Sportfishing for a whale watching excursion. We have been whale watching from Dana Point several times in the past through commercial outfits, but did not see as many whales or get as close to them. Best time on the boat with Capt Chris. Would not go out with any other. Very knowledgeable of the local area and knows a good time. Had the chance to go lobstering off Catalina. Fished this parker last week with a friend. Great boat and great Captain. We hit up San Clemente island with no problem. Fished for yellows but they were not being cooperative. So we got some giant calicos instead. Overall a fun trip and nice day on the water. I would recommend this boat for a private charter read more
