This place is awesome! Blake was supper friendly and very knowledgeable about jets skis. I really appreciate him going above and beyond to ensure we had fun and were safe. Parking was super easy and there was no waiting! I called them to make sure they had availability and within 5 minutes of parking I was on the jet ski getting an quick tutorial before heading out on the water. I've been on a jet ski before, but not like these. They have two modes: ECO and SPORT. We've never jet skied before and looked for a halfway point between LA and San Diego so we could rendezvous with our daughter. It was easy to find since they sent specific gate instructions. The hunk at the boathouse was the owners son and he was adorable. We had a great hour cruising around the gorgeous Dana Point coast line. Went to Capo Beach jet ski in July 2014 (about 2 weeks ago from now). I called in and reserved a rental for 2 people on a single jet ski. Show up the next day at 1:00 and found the staff to be super friendly and down to earth, pretty straight forward experience. Prices were not great, but they were fair. The day i went was pretty overcast, and only about 71 out, but we went out anyways. The splashing water didn't bother my girlfriend or I, which was a relief. Seriously had a blast, worth the cost every now and then. The water wasn't very rough, and I think because it wasn't a super warm saturday it deterred a lot of people from going, so it wasn't crowded out on the water. I paid for an hour up-front, but since it wasn't busy they told me I could come back later if wanted (paying for it of course). I went out planning for only an hour, but it takes 10 min to get out to non 5mph waters and 10 mins back in .. so we ended up doing an hour and a half, and I could have easily stayed out there longer. Good time and I would rent from them again. The jet ski's were in great condition, comfy seats, plenty of power, the life jackets were pretty standard, nothing fancy. read more

So we normally rent kayaks on the other side of the harbor by baby beach, but will only rent from Bronson and the boys here! This was out second time renting from them and love it! The kayaks seem brand-new, such good shape and comfortable. Bronson was very informative and helpful in regards to getting on and off the Kyak and inquiring how are adventure was.( not to mention easy in the eyes ) The best part, $20.00 for 2 hours! That's double the time than what we were paying across the harbor at baby beach. I highly recommend the professionalism and quality of the products that are used here, not to mention after I found out it's a family owned and operated business that is been there for years I want to support our local community!! Went out with my boyfriend yesterday afternoon and Bronson (the employee) was super helpful. They were a little busy because they were close to closing but they were really accomedating and did not rush us. They explained everything to us and let us head out. It was 125 an hour because it was a weekend but super worth it. The experience was great. The jet skis are FAST. My boyfriend had said he didn't want to steer it but changed his mind once he had seen how exciting it was. It was a first for both of us and was defiantly something we'd do again. I love the ocean, I love all water sports, and I love a good workout so fourth of July weekend I hit the harbor of Dana Point to get my kayak on. Capo Beach Jet Ski Rentals quenched my thirst for ocean rowing. Jet skis, also available for rent, did look fun, but I wanted the workout while being on the surface. The price for one hour is $25 and for a day is $60. The boats are right on the deck and the lady that assisted me was cool like that. She showed me two routes to take. One will encircle the harbor where you can get a view of the boardwalk, boats, and the pirate ship at the end of the harbor. The other route spits you in the mighty Pacific where you can just paddle out and dodge oncoming boats. "Hey, this is a boat lane, watch out!" Ahh yes, he was very helpful too. Ignore all the people crying about rude service. Been coming here for years and these guys are just straightforward and to the point. If you can't appreciate that then rent somewhere else. We got here, the first guy who helped us was a nice guy. Then Bronson, who I think is Bills son starts going over the map and asking who is driving. We were all gathered around, and he kept telling us to step forward. We kept stepping forward and he wouldn't tell us the directions because another person in the party wasn't fully buckled in his life jacket. Then he told someone else in the party to step closer, then when the guy said he could see, "oh you have eagle eyes?" Then I asked for my money back, and he called me an asshole, threw the paper instructions down and walked away. Then Bill, his dad came inside to do the instructions and to reprimand us, then I said, "I just want to leave and I want my money back." Bill then allowed his adult son to start screaming obscenities at us as we waited for our refunds. It was insane. read more

SOOOOO!!! MUCHHHHHH!!!!!!! FUNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!! We made our way over to Capo Beach Rental on Saturday morning for our 11AM jet ski reservation. When you pull up to the parking lot, the parking attendant will open the gate arm for you and direct you to the store front. From there, you sign waivers, have the option of storing things in the lockers (free locks provided, but the lockers are RUSTY), and head over to the dock where you'll be briefed on how to operate the jet ski. We rented for an hour and that was plenty of time, even factoring in the ten or so minutes it takes to get in-and-out of the marina. Once you're out past the buoys, the ocean is your playground! It is SO MUCH FUN going full throttle on the jetski for as long as you want, wherever you want. I loved the wind brushing against my cheek, the bounce of the waves below my feet, and screaming at the top of my lungs while going top speed on the jet ski! NOTE: During your safety briefing, you are warned to steer clear of seaweed because if it clogs up underneath your jet ski, you have to get underwater and remove the debris otherwise it could burn out your motor. While I was riding, I saw an army of seaweed approaching so I made an abrupt turn and ended up getting thrown into the water anyways. Irony at its finest... TIPS: -Bring SUNSCREEN and apply liberally! I totally forgot and was left with a stinging sun burn on my shoulders afterwards. -WATERPROOF SHOES and FLOATING SUNGLASS NECK STRAPS are recommended because if you get thrown off your jet ski like I did, you WILL lose your shoes and/or sunglasses in the water due to the momentum. -There is a WATERTIGHT COMPARTMENT on the jetski for you to store your phone and/or camera if you want to take pictures while riding! -Up to THREE people can ride on one jet ski. -DO NOT WEAR DENIM! It apparently ruins the jet ski upholstery which costs $500 to replace. I wore jean shorts and was given the option of either wearing a complimentary body suit halfway (to cover my jean shorts) or changing into cloth shorts that I brought. I opted for the latter because I didn't want extra arms dangling from my waist. read more

The ocean waves definitely add to the drama and enjoyment though I personally prefer it on a lake. Contrary to some of the other reviewers below, the owner was really nice and helpful. Great place to rent kayaks (we didn't have a chance to rent the jet skis) we had a blast renting from these guys this past Sunday. We highly recommend coming here when you're down in Dana Point it was easy hassle free and our 3 and 4 year old had fun kayaking with us and seeing the seals and what else the harbor had to offer for the day. Great place to rent a Sea-doo! My 12yo son and I took one out this morning for an hour and had a BLAST! Bill was friendly and a great instructor for us first timers and made us feel very comfortable before setting us loose. We had plenty of room once out of the harbor to zip around full speed - and these things are really fast. Regarding the reviewer who talks about the deposit, for us it was only $500 and he gives you a VOID receipt immediately after you bring the watercraft back, so there's no reason to worry about that.
