Found Left Field Brewery and from the first visit, I felt very welcomed by their kindness and friendliness. The people are knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions you may have about their selection of beer. I sampled a couple of their beers before getting a pint of their Ice Cold Beer which has become my all time favourite. You can also do a flight of beers where you can try many of their great tasting beers on tap. Seating is available at the bar area and in the main space as well. Unfortunately this location does not serve food but you are more than welcome to order food in. Left Field has a fan club where you can sign up for free and collect points. Recently updated, you can now redeem for merchandise and beer. They also offer a birthday reward as well as long as you provide your info when signing up. Overall, this place always has good vibes and has become one of my fave spots for a beer and a good chat. Beer is available on tap and for grab n go. Shoutout to Alex, Pam and Mike! When left field brewery opened up quite a few years ago, they used to be absolutely packed. I recall lining up with my friends outside on weekends to get a seat. It was always worth it! Although it's not as packed these days, the brewery still holds its classic charm. There's always a great crowd especially during baseball season! One of my favorite things about their beers is that they're available in small cans... Which is perfect "snack"! Even though their beers are available at LCBO these days, it's still a great time coming by the brewery and trying new things, and hanging out with good people. read more

All of their beer beers are excellent. Love Greenwood or Laseshow IPA, their Squeeze Play or Bang-bang sour series, but my favorite series has to be "Blackburn" stout. This weekend there was Tap room special that we could enjoy 4 different Blackburn Series( Original, gingersnap, rye barrel-aged & bourbon barrel-aged) as flights($18). I also added $5 salted caramel & gingersnap chocolate from Soul Chocolate next door to pair with beer which was excellent. I find stout is very festive beer to enjoy during Christmas season. It's low key brewery and love the open space to sit down & enjoy samples different beers on tap. They offer beer flights, both 6oz & 13oz beer and even offer a pitcher size for Ice Cold lager & Greeenwood IPA. Continuing to discover and support the local breweries in my neighbourhood and this time it was Left Field Brewery. It's easy to miss them as they are located on a very easy to miss laneway. They sell their brews in packs of 4 or a variety pack of 6. I was happy to support them and got a pack of 6. I really wished they still had the Reggie Bar because it really is the liquid form of that chocolate bar! Other than that, they have a little tent set up with very clear signs so everyone is safe while shopping. They have a debit/credit machine on a hockey stick so you know you are at a safe physical distance when cashing out. read more

The theme is unique, a baseball style scoreboard to list what's on tap, baseball themed logo which is very well done. Stopped by this past July, the place was packed and we had to wait on a line for the occupancy to free up. Once inside I had the Go-ahead which tasted great, especially after a 9 hour drive. It was the only beer I had here, as it was super packed with people and strollers; so after finishing our beers my fiancé and I headed out. Large interior with bench seating to the right, table seating to the left, and bar seating in the middle (still overflowing despite that). Managed to squeeze into a seat up front and ordered a Sampler of Four ($10). The four options from best to worst: Lizard Show - DIPA, juicy hops, even finish Beer For Corpses - IPA, easy light hop, limited floral taste Crypt - IPA, limited hop, sweetish flavor Bricks & Murder - Porter, smokey aftertaste, only a hint of coffee Overall acceptable beers for a dreary night. 4.5 stars... I feel Toronto is really embracing all these new microbreweries that are popping up. With so many micro-breweries opening up, it's hard to stand out and keep your attention. Left Field not only stood out but it made us write down the name to figure out where we can get more. Ever since trying Left Field at Aloette, it's been on our top 3 breweries we've tried. Left Field is a fun spot that has a baseball spin to it. It's brewery that is fully open to the public. It welcomes everyone ... even if you're in a stroller or on a leash and have 4 legs. If anything, it's so dog friendly that I saw at least 10 dogs come in and out or sit nicely by their owners the entire time I was there. The spot is industrial as it is the brewery and it only serves its beers. So dont come in expecting food. Though it seems they're ok if you bring some in? I saw a few tables have a few items brought in. It's not a huge spot ... there's a few bar height tables off to one side and a few more picnic tables to use on the other side. It is busy on the weekend... though it's not a huge line up the door, a lot of people came in to drink their flights and didnt leave for at least an hour. It is definitely busy here. They have most beers on tap but also have a big fridge for to purchase the cans and bottles for your home. I have been told their seasonal limited editions sell out fast... and once they're gone, they're gone. We were told the first release of Whip sold out in 2 weeks and that was it. They're doing their second release. That's a hint to buy if it wasn't obvious! Love how they offer a very reasonable price ($10) for 4 small beers in their flight. You really get to try the different types and flavours before going over to the fridge and picking up your favourite for later. Bang Bang - This is a dry hopped sour that is probably more similar to conventional LCBO beer BUT Left Field does it a lot better. The hops give it a strong citrus note but also a bit resinous spiced and mildly bitter ending that I've come to known hops for. It does have a strong punch of citrus at first sip and then slowly mellow into more of a sweeter tropical fruit note. They say papaya and pineapple... I didnt taste the papaya but I could be convinced there was a bit of pineapple to it. I could drink this which means it's good. 4/5 Squeeze Play - This is visually striking... it's a beautiful plum ruby shade. This is a plum sour ale and it definitely was one of the better summer beers I've tried so far. I found the flavour really refreshing as it doesn't have the bitterness of most beers. It has a bit of a floral taste to it but it's quite light as the sour plum is really front and centre. It's a great drink and I liked it a lot. Perfect for summer. 4/5 Sunlight Park - My favourite of the flights! It's a grapefruit saison and it's another perfect beer for the summer. It boldly citrus and reminds me a lot of a very good sour grapefruit lemonade but just happens to have this really nice rounded malty note at the end. I'm assuming that last bit of flavour is from the malted wheat in the beer. It's not sweet at all.. nice and dry which I think it characteristic of most saisons. 4.5/5 Whip - Whoooa ... this is completely different. Would it be terrible if I said that this came out of Left Field? Yes? Ok, bad pun out of the way. This is a smoothie IPA and I never knew this existed. It's a dessert for those who dont want to eat dessert. It's bold, fruity, and very interesting. Absolutely creamy too. It reminds me of a pineapple orange creamisicle ice cream. There's supposedly guava, orange, passionfruit, and lactose in this that makes this beer be completely unique. I can definitely taste the orange as that is the most prominent fruit flavour... though I would say this was more like a sweet tangerine flavour. Definitely interesting and a must try. 4.5/5 Eephus - This is for all those who love beer and think IPAs are like juice. This is a much dense & richer flavour and you can smell the malt before your first sip. First thing that hits your tastebuds is a nice malty sweetness that has a bit of nuttiness to it. I'm thinking something nutty sweet like a hazelnut or almond. I dont taste oats but this is not a fruity drink at all. Then the flavour goes into a moderate bitterness of a good ale. I still taste a bit of the sweetened malt lingering but that bitterness definitely dominated. I dont like bitter beer but I can at least appreciate this one. 3.5/5 I love local Toronto stores, restaurants, and breweries... I want to see them succeed and Left Field deserves to be at the top. Their flavours are so good, everything tastes great, and it's a great bunch of people here who are working to make a great beer. On top of all that, it's super affordable compared to many other spots. It also helps they have the cutest dogs parading around inside... gotta love that. That'll keep me coming back! read more

Fantastic local brewery. When I think of breweries, I think of Left Field. Left field is a baseball themed brewery with a bar and shop for take aways. They an awesome double IPA called laser show, a nice IPA called green wood and a smooth brown ale called eephus always on tap. They also have 5+ seasonal and rotating beers on tap. When I went there they had a mocha marshmellow stout that was perfect for the fall/winter. The rotating and seasonal brews plus the amazingly friendly staff are a good reason to revisit this lovely local brewery. Remember to tip your bartender/server. read more

There are a lot of other breweries I would rather drink at more than here which are close by. I would definitely continue to buy their beer though. I really enjoy coming here during the summer as it is dog and kids friendly. You'll see a lot of locals there and the staff is very friendly and attentive. I usually bring my dog with me as you can't bring your dog to most establishments in Toronto. There are two line ups on busy days, one for sit in and the other to buy beer to go. The line up wait can be long if you go on a busy summer day. Their selection of beer is great as I'm not a beer drinker but I do enjoy their beer, particularly the Whip. You can also try out their different selection by ordering a flight which comes with four samples for $10. They also have pop up events during specific weekends where food trucks will come and sell food for you to enjoy with your beer. read more

The beer was good and well priced but the service was inconsistent - we were barely greeted (it was our first time there) and spoken to but the two groups after us got a lengthy welcome and orientation to the menu (also their first times). Was out by Left Field this weekend to visit Hype Food Co for a Yelp Elite event, and stopped by Left Field to purchase beers for a friend. With COVID protocols in place, there's a 3-person limit inside and only one person can be at the fridge at a time. There's also no patio space if you were hoping to drink a tap beer. Had to wait in line a bit in the blazing heat, so I don't recommend going at 2 p.m. Got a six-pack for friend, plus the Gigante. I'm on medication from a recent surgery so limiting my alcohol. I tried the Gigante and a sip of my friend's Squeeze Play (in a separate cup) that day. They were both excellent. read more

It's no secret that I love beer. So craft breweries are practically my haven. I've always enjoyed any Left Field beers on tap or when I've snatched some up from the LCBO. It's been on my list of to-dos to pop by the brewery. Being a west sider, the east end is always out of the way. But am I ever glad that I visited the east end! I figured Left Field would be the perfect first stop of a mini-beer crawl. It was. My friend and I got a little tour and geeked out over beer. Everyone was super friendly and chill. I definitely would just come by to relax and enjoy some beer. You're more than welcome to bring your own grub and enjoy a flight or a few pints. Ample seating plus kid friendly. Great tap offering and bottle shop selection. Shout out to the tasty sweet Jesus mocha marshmallow stout. It was everything I wanted it to be and then some. The bae and I randomly entered into a euchre tournament here and had a total blast. We met lots of fun people and enjoyed some great beer. My personal fave brew was the stout (can't remember the name) but it was delightful. Bae, a noted hop head, enjoyed their Laser Show IIPA - delicious. We tied for last place in the tourney but in my mind I feel like we earned an A for effort. First place winners took home some awesome brewery swag. BOTTOM LINE: Hmmm...fresh beer... Stashed away on a nondescript street in what feels like the middle of nowhere is the cozy home of Left Field Brewery. In my opinion, one of the better microbrews in Toronto, they have a small retail and seating area that's probably best enjoyed in a small group. I wished they would serve food as well, but hopefully this can be part of any future expansion - it would be nice to have an East end "Bellwoods". At the very least, they do welcome take out food! I'm also hoping they're able to expand their space seeing it is pretty tiny. The beers speak for themselves and won't be the focus of this review, but you do owe it to yourself to try what they have to offer! read more

We stopped by here trying out a few breweries one day. In all my experience, this has been one of the best and simplest experiences. The staff are helpful, they have beer flights and they are averagely priced but great tasting beer. The place is located on a quiet street just off a busy intersection. There isn't much in the area and I suspect Left Field is hopping with customers at certain times of the week. I'm pretty sure I saw notices for events too. A well run, clean cut, tasty operation. First tried a Left Field beer at the nearby restaurant The Borough on The Danforth. My friends and I quite enjoyed their Eephus Oatmeal Brown Ale, and were intrigued when we were told it was from a new brewery opening in the East End by Greenwood. Since then I've kept my tabs on when the brewery would open, and as luck would have it I was able to make it to one of their "spring training" events. They only had two kinds of beers in bottles for sale because the rest was sold out. They also only have larger bottles because they don't appear to have a bottling machine yet, but they did have 6 beers on tap. So we tried 5 of the beers we had yet to try and all were very flavourful. The hoppy beers are definitely hoppy, which I'm a fan of. The coffee porter had a strong coffee flavour and I believe the grounds are brewed next door. The prospect beer had a great citrus flavour with nice balance. All of them deserve your hard earned dollars. The location has washrooms, a tasting area with counters and beer taps, fridges of products to buy, and a merch table. At the time, a 5 oz sample was 2.50. 12 oz for 5.00. And bottles had a 3 dollar deposit. Not sure if these prices will stay the same though read more

Wow. What a find. I was tired of all the touristy places on Yonge street so I decided to hop on the 506 street car and go for an adventure. As I got off the street car, I was thinking to myself "this can't be right" as it's a 3 block walk through a residential neighborhood to get to the street this brewery is in, and then you turn right, then left, then right into an unmarked alley to find the place. But, having found the place, I felt right at home. It's housed in an old industrial building with a very tastefully decorated tasting room. Once the brewing is done for the day, they also pull out picnic tables in the brewery area for expanded seating. Most everything has a baseball them, hence the name of the brewery, from the score board on the wall, to the names of the beers, to the baseball bat inspired tap handles. The beer was good as well, I had both the IPA and the pale ale. Also got a bottle of their collaboration coffee porter to go for a friend that lives both baseball and porters, and look forward to trying it with him over the holidays! If you're looking to explore breweries in Toronto, don't limit yourself to just the downtown area. Step out of your comfort zone, hop on the streetcar, and give this one a try! read more

Great beer and great environment. Went there on a Sunday afternoon when there was a pop-up event. I didn't know about the event, as I brought my own burger and poutine. The waitress was kind enough to let us set our own space with our own food. Ordered a flight of light beer and they all taste refreshing. The place was packed and I had to sit at a corner of the bar with people squeezing me for making their orders. Overall, it was a great experience. read more

I loved the theme of this place because they executed it perfectly. Even down to the merchandise for sale. The staff was friendly, but super relaxed and helpful. I appreciated that. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't as busy as I thought it would be. However, there were a lot of people stopping in to get beers to go. That's always a good sign. Sorry, when a brewery makes good beer I want them to stick around so I can continue to drink the good beer. Well, I guess, the next time I'm in Toronto. But, chances are you're in Toronto and you should definitely check out the Cannonball Helles Lager. I know, I know, You're thinking, "A lager? No way,"Oh, yes. If it's a hot day this will save you from the heat. Talk about a thirst quencher! However, if you must have an ale you can't go wrong with the Laser Show or the Lolly, which are both delicious IPAs. You might as well give me season tickets; I live not too far from this place, so regular stops becomes an easy habit. The baseball themed microbrewery has become a home run derby of hit suds in Toronto's craft beer scene ever since it secured a location hidden in an old discreet east end railway industrial alley/street-thing. Amazing people, family and dog-friendly atmosphere, and products that reeks of a passion for good go-to beers and experiments--fruity, hoppy, dark--that don't swing into foul territory. Left Field has grown so quickly that it can be hard to keep up with the lineup of new beers. The Sunlight Park saison and Eephus Oatmeal Ale are decent regulars to default to. The brewery itself is one of a few that has a TV for showing games (not always baseball). Flights and pints are served, but no food--bring your own grub or help yourself to whatever food truck/event setup they host almost every weekend. Could this be the best brewery in the east end? They certainly are in my books when it comes to IPAs and Sours. From their "Turn Two" series where they make a traditional American IPA with 2 different hop combinations, to the east coast hazy stylings of Greenwood IPA, Rally Cap pale ale, and the ever impressive Lazer Show IIPA... Throw in a tasty Sunlight Park grapefuit saison or a Bang Bang sour for the afternoon day drinking types... And there is pure awesomeness is being brewed at this tucked away operation. The tap room is pretty cool, a good amount of tables and bar stools to settle in and enjoy a flight of tasty beers. They also have tv's for the Jays game, which apparently is a pretty good option as well. I don't get to the east end very often, but this place makes me want to visit more often. read more

Great brewery, staffed by friendly folks. Especially love they are welcoming to everyone - even babies, children and dogs. Not sure why anyone would complain about mothers being there. They make a number of very hoppy IPAs, which I am a fan of, but also some great darker beers. My current favourite is the Mango Lassi IPA. The staff was amazing and super helpful when I needed to charge my phone and since I was alone chatted to me about what happened to my truck The beer was also amazing and the prices are also amazing.
