Upon entering the venue, we received a free bottle of hot sauce for the event and made our way to the bar. I ordered the mango and cherry sour beers - mango was my favourite. To order food, you also go to the bar and give you a number to take to your table. We ordered the beef brisket and pulled pork sandwiches. Both were fabulous and the fries were one of the best I've had - perfectly salted. The ambience was a warehouse but decorated with a large indoor palm tree, string lights and plenty of bar style seating. I really enjoyed both the event and the venue itself. I was a bit disappointed with this one. We went pretty far out of our way for it and they were having an event so only their booth was open. They gave us some samples in plastic cups and when we asked if the beer we got couod be used in the same cups they thre them away and put them in more. The service in general seemed a bit off and the beer itself was okay. I won't mark it down too much since my wife went back and said it was better when they had their main room open but that first experience wasnt worth the walk. read more

It was like a margarita had sex with a beer that was a sour. It was also nitro which made it so smooth. We didn't try any food, but their sandwiches looked really good. The beer here is great and the inside is so nice to hang out. It's a nice place to go with friends that isn't a dive bar but doesn't feel like you have to be fancy and is more laid back vibe. I do want to mention the service, though. Every time I come here it is like pulling teeth to get served. You are seated and will wait 30+ minutes until someone comes to your table, usually because you have flagged them over. We were sat by one girl and were sitting for 25 minutes when we flagged her over and asked if we could order. She said she wasn't our server but would let our server know. Usually once your server has come they are decently attentive but it is a strange pattern that seems to keep happening. I usually am not critical of service because I am sympathetic to the busy job that serving can be, but this has happened on multiple occasions. Also, one time in the bottle shop the guy working there told me and my boyfriend (we were holding hands) that we looked like siblings and when we said we weren't he was defensive and said he was just making a comment. A great local brewery in the stillness of Geary Ave! Although known for their sours, I prefer their stouts instead. Service is fairly quick on weekdays, gets busier on the weekends. There is quite a lot of seating available to my surprise, even more during the summer when the patio opens up. You feel like your sitting right in the middle of all the brewery action sometimes! They offer a small but delicious menu to snack on. We tried the beef and chicken tacos - delicious. The wrap is divine and don't feel like it was going to break apart on ya! We also tried the fries supreme, it's like a healthier and tastier version of Taco Bell's but with crispy fries and quality toppings - would get again if I was craving fancy fries. Umbrella Toss, Smoothie Sour with guava, coconut cream & pineapple(4% ABV, 8oz $8.50) & Tahitian Teehee, IIPA with passion fruit, peach, wait-iti & el dorado hop. Both were excellent. Especially I have never had beer actually looks like smoothie and tastes like smoothie. Amazing atmosphere to chill. Lots of cool beer options. I've been wanting to check out Blood Brothers Brewing for years. They always have interesting sour and funky beers (aka. their Paradise Lost and Autopop lines). We dropped in on a Thursday afternoon (around 2:30pm). Most people were outside on the picnic tables and keg barrels. Service was decent. The drink menu is a mix of sour & funky, pales & lagers and one stout. They also make seltzers and carry Revel ciders. Lame that they don't offer flights (only 8oz or 12oz offerings). Food menu is from Beast. Beer cans are in the $3.95 to $6.95 price range while their barrel aged bottles (500mL) are $14.00 to $16.00. - Paradise Lost: guava ($5.25 8oz) - medium-bodied, slightly creamy and faint tropical notes of guava. - Paradise Lost: soursop & lychee ($5.25 8oz) - I enjoyed this one more than the guava. Lychee note came through and more balanced. - Okonomiyaki fries ($8.00) - fries were a nice snack. The togarashi added a slight kick. Wish the bottle shop had more of their sours to buy. The beer here is awesome as usual. Blood Brother has remained a favorite for years, but they have upped their food game. The folks from Beast seem to have taken over the kitchen. And even though we only had one little thing, it was so good I had to write about it. The crispy deviled eggs with ham - Ham and Eggs - really are the best thing ever. The white of the egg is coated with panko and the inside yoke is cured, and it is topped by a creamy yokey florette. Ham was an added touch. I think we will definitely be back and the next time we won't be sharing a plate. They are too good to share and we don't want to start a fight. You can get the crispy deviled eggs by themselves as well and they are probably just as good - although also probably less hammy. We did have a beer we have never had before - ENTHEOGEN : IPA w/ Vic Secret, El Dorado & Sabro * 6% ABV - a hazy hoppy brew that with every sip hits you with a clear distinct note of pineapple for one glorious moment before collapsing into a murky swamp of deliciousness. read more

Four choices are limited but good, and not expensive as sometimes happen in a new/cool/edgy space such as this. Lots of seating on benches and tables. Service was friendly but scrambled. They were quite busy but twice they mixed up our drinks. The server left the drink on the table and scooted off. Their beer is pretty good. We really like the soursop and Lychee one. They are a little pricey though.. we bought two cans and a bottle(500 ml) to take home and they were about $22. A bummer that soursop/lychee one wasn't available to take home. They had some bottled cocktails to go as we They have appetizers from Momofuku, which is a nice touch. We ordered two of them, both were okay. The chicken plate ($25) came with two pieces of crispy fried chicken and two pieces of Korean fried chicken, carrot coleslaw, hot sauce and scallions. Blood Brothers Brewing is worth the trek to at least a visit. I have been drinking Shumei and Paradise Lost for awhile which are available on taps at Good Catch Boil House. And here I was, finally here and able to try out more of their beers! You can either order a sampler or a half pint or a pint from their ever rotating draft list. And in case if you rather just want to pick up a bottle or 6 of them from the shop, you can also ask for a taste before committing. If you are into sour beers, you would be delighted with their interesting IPA, Sour Ale which used different kind of fruits. And their Sour Ale White Lies series uses different grapes was also quite interesting too. Come by for a drink or 2 and enjoy their casual setting with friendly service and of course some good beers! Excellent beer (which is good because its gotta be a main reason, if not THE reason, you are coming here). The Inner Eye is my favourite (I find it difficult to order anything else when I see that on a menu). One of the friends I was with had the Blood Light and the other had a Black Hand (a stout) - both ordered a second round of the same, so we can assume those are tasty as well. Food wise, only I ordered something - specifically, the Buffalo Cauliflower appetizer. It was delicious, crispy, and had a good amount of kick to it. Would definitely order it again, although the rest of the food menu looked really good too so there could be some tough decisions to make. In the winter (i.e. when they don't have their patio open), the atmosphere is cosy and intimate. Would be good for a date, but not good for groups (i.e., even 4 might be kind of tricky depending on how busy it is). read more

I am so so upset at the service at Blood brothers brewing. I was there last night and I ordered a pulled brisket and fries meal which arrived COLD. first off when I got there no one was allowed to order.. I was in shock what restaurant at that time 8:30pm did not allow someone to order food. then to tell me an hour later you can order but the worst of all you bring me cold food. Restaurants/ bars want to make their customers happy and I don't think they did. I know someone posted a bad review yesterday but instead of messaging the person that posted the review Blood Brothers constantly emailed and went to the person that set up the party and complained in person in front of everyone about the review. . Blood brothers didn't bring it up with the person that posted the review but did bully the person that set up the get together. I saw mice and we have videos of the mice at Blood brothers. it was disgusting to see mice in a bar that MAKES FOOD for their customers. This is horrible and unsanitary . Bllod brothers you need to correct the cold food issue and mice issue before you complain about getting a bad review.. just so you know this is not a good look.. bullying customers instead of correcting your issue is not good business practices. When mapping out some cool places to visit in Toronto Blood Brothers Brewing popped up on the list. In all honesty, the name captured me followed by its occultist influence. 489 miles later, Andrea and I visit. Furnished with a pentagram chandelier, tap handles adorned in wood and most importantly: good beer. The two that stole the show for me were Cactus Head and Paradise Lost Guava. Paradise lost guava- guava-y, tart and gorgeously unfiltered. A pale wheat opaqueness greats your glass. Cactus head- was filled with hops but finished very smooth. Cheers! read more

Small place in an industrial neighbor but that makes parking extremely easy. Appealing gothic type aesthetic where the beers are poured. They also have a nice outdoor space which would be nice if it was warmer out. They have a ton of sour beers - I personally am not a fan of sours so I got a flight of the 3 IPAs and the amaretto coffee stout. Their flagship beer (shumei) was just ok. I really enjoyed the devils trill III (hazy IPA) and the under/Italy (amaretto coffee stout). They have small plates to order, but I didn't get any. I think I saw a sign that says they DO NOT allow outside food. Staff wasn't particularly friendly or attentive. After having been, I do not have anything in particular to recommend. Service was lacking, inside the music was too loud to talk. We did not find any beers that we liked between my group. Got a two-seater in the middle of the room overlooking the draft menu and the bottled options to the side. Started off with the Devil's Trill #2 ($5.75) - a supper hoppy and crisp IPA that's more of a punch in the mouth than anything else. Also ordered the Shumei ($5) - again, mostly just the flavor of hop, though not as intense as the other beer. Bartenders were mostly chatting amongst themselves, so didn't get to see what's up in the area - seemingly a nice neighborhood to chill. BOTTOM LINE: One of my top 3 microbreweries in town. With an expanded space extending further back, Blood Brothers just keeps on getting better. I've been coming here for some time now and, hands down, they brew some of tastiest suds in town! I don't say this lightly when I place them in my top 3 fave breweries in Toronto! Consistently, they produce interesting, flavourful, and consistently delicious offerings. They're probably best known for their line of Paradise Lost, and I've yet to be disappointed with what they've put out. They don't have a kitchen so only snacks are offered, just so you're aware. This local brewery is such a neat addition to the area. They are nestled in a neighborhood littered with old school businesses and new "hipster" ones too. I really like their selection of seasonals every year. They generally range in the more sour beers which I love in the summer months in this city. They don't have much for a kitchen and they serve only snacks, so come here after you've had your lunch or supper. Before Covid, you could easily spend a good few hours hanging out with friends on the patio but given the current situation, you can visit their bottle shop or even order delivery online. read more

As a non-beer expert, this place was awh-ight. Interior is fairly small. There are only a few tables and a stand-up counter. Garage door was open and they have additional picnic tables outside. There's no shade though, so if sun's not your friend, you'll hafta stand at the counter...inside. "Bar" where you order is disproportionally small to the soaring ceilings. I came primarily 'cause I wanted to check out the other businesses on Geary Ave, including Blood Brothers. And what I learned was that I am not really a fan of sour beers, but I do like fruity beers. So although I chose all fruity beers, 2/3 of them in my flight were sour. My only real comment was that I wish that the bartenders were more friendly and gave more recommendations. A super small brewery in downtown! I loved it right away. The music is rocky and ol school, so it's a great place to sit down and chill if you like that sort of thing. They have seats both indoor and out, and I suggest sitting outside if the weather is agreeable. Blood brothers switches up their beers often, so who knows what will he available for a flight when you go. However, this brewery has a large collection of sours. They have both strong sours that last on your tongue, as well as more mild sours that kind of vanish from the palette quicker, so if you've never had a sour or if you like sours, this place is good for an intro/to define your experience. The service was really great and flight prices vary, but mine came out to $9. They also sell snacks but I didn't get any. My favorite beer was the Paradise Lost. It's a strong and refreshing sour. One of the top 5 breweries I've been to in Toronto. Not too conveniently located via TTC, but worth the trip. It's a small brewery with a few tables and bar seating. It's got a really cool theme as well as t-shirts and other merch on display. The brews available on tap are not necessarily in the fridge and vice versa, so make sure you take a peek at what's in the fridge too. Their sours and stouts are on point. YESSS! I love their beer and I love their tiny little brewery with a few wooden tables, a lovely shrine to the beer lords and a fridge stocked of bottles to purchase. It's a no-BS spot. Walk into the tap room and order beer. There is no food here except for bags of tortilla chips and beef jerky for purchase. It's really small inside so you'll likely be standing, I feel like the capacity is like 25 to 30 people? Not sure. In the summer though they open up the garage door and put out picnic tables which makes for a fun patio area. It's a great spot with some of my fav beer in the city :) read more

Hole in the wall local craft beer brewery with a patio that you can sit down and chill with friends on a good day. You can also take home beers out of a good selection of beers they have. I am a big fan of IPAs and we asked for recommendations of the darkest beer they have. They were super welcoming and recommended UNIFY OR DIE for us. Full-bodied, chocolaty, coffee, a good roasty flavor. I love their patio, the customer service and just how simple it is. Lastly, washroom is clean is definitely a bonus. Nothing as I expected, I really don't know what rating to give but I think a review is warranted. I arrived with no prior knowledge other than that it was close to my next destination. Small tasting room area, lots of beers to buy home, and an interesting list of options. I was happy to see good variety - sours, IPAs, pale ales, stouts...boasting different flavour profiles that got me curious. I'm a fan of stouts, so a flight of stouts was procured before me: Captain Howdy, Guilty Remnant, and Black Hand. Overall, they were not particularly memorable to me aside the fact I haven't been able to find unique stouts in a while. They did not stand out as something I'd want a whole pint's worth, but there were some interesting flavours and attractive descriptions. The Guilty Remnant was a memorable one, a white stout! Never heard of that before so was expecting something still amber in colour, but with the richness of a stout. When it arrived it looked like the colour of lemonade - completely surprises! It boasted white chocolate flavours and it turned out to be quite sweet and smelled like vanilla candles. Not sure I could handle a full pint as it was quite rich and sweet , but without the freshness one may get from a stout on tap. A friend tried their sours and we only concluded that we don't enjoy sours - a mystery for another time. These seemed to be their highlight, so unfortunately I don't think I'll be back. Seating is open air in the summer with a garage door style space, it's not large but does the trick. Unfortunately there's no food other than some chips and dip that come prepackaged, so don't come hungry! read more

This was a brewery I was really excited to visit based on non-stop positive reviews. Not the hugest fan of Blood Brothers, and not for any particular reason. It's a nice, quiet location off busy Toronto streets. Service at the bar was friendly enough but hardly worth gushing about. There's definitely a testosterone vibe in the air - manly, rough.. maybe it's the location and industrial decor. The beer samplers we tried weren't our favorite - they seemed to trend towards sour or bitter. Yahoo, Blood Brothers is my favourite new patio / tap-room. This no nonsense neighbourhood joint is open from noon to 9 every day. There's a tiny tap-room with a handful of high tables and stools, a super-cool beer altar where the pouring action happens, a couple of fridges as the bottle shop, a huge garage door that opens onto the sidewalk with 3 big picnic tables. It was busy, but there was room for all, on this warm Sunday afternoon. It draws a friendly crowd of all ages and their cute dogs. There are taster pours, too, but we opted for the 12 oz., which are $5-6 each. The menu is updated by Sharpie on a cool rolling paper scroll (which suits the quasi-religious-icon branding very well). What a stunner! Anyone would be so lucky to have this kind of local brewhouse in their neighbourhood. And since I was the First To Review Famiglia Baldasarre (ahem, autographs later), I think I can safely say that Geary Ave. is the place to be. I've tried multiple Blood Brother's offerings, both at their facility and in the many Toronto establishments that carry it. The combinations and inventiveness of the beer is such fun. I went in recently on a Sunday to find they were hosting a Island Oysters pop up. Oysters and beer are a great thing. Also, love a good Paradise Lost Guava. In the summer, the patio is plentiful and basically triples the amount of table space. The line up for beer bottles to go may be snaking out the door, but at least you know it's worth it. read more
