Decent selection and pretty good beer. The venue is cute warehouse vibe. They had live music while we visited. Dog friendly too! They were slammed when we went but the beer tenders were slaying.

(Drank 09/02/25 TU @ 5:30pm): I came in flaming hot to my first brewery visit in Toronto! I headed to Old Flame Brewing Co. which was the closest brewery within walking distance of my Airbnb while I was in Toronto for the next two weeks on business. I always sought out breweries to visit wherever I traveled, and they were the lucky winner on my brewery exploration. Old Flame Brewing Co. was founded by Jack Doake in 2013 and named after its flagship Port Perry location, a historic building that experienced two previous fires. Doake, a serial entrepreneur, was inspired by dissatisfaction with macro lagers and a desire to brew quality traditional German lagers, a focus that led to multiple awards, including being recognized as the most awarded craft lager brewery in Canada. The brewery has been known for its commitment to preserving the history of its buildings while brewing high-quality lagers. They also had a location in a historic fire hall in Newmarket and in Toronto's Distillery District. Did their flame burn bright for this not-so-old brewery!? PURCHASE(S) Old Flame Brewing Co. OVERALL Old Flame Brewing Co. was a nice introduction to the Toronto beer scene, and I would definitely return. The beers were tasty albeit limited in availability (ten on this visit) and variety (no IPAs). The prices were very comparable, they had minimal snacks and onsite food (I always loved something salty to munch on while I drank beer), and they allowed outside food. The service was easy and straightforward, and at least pets were allowed on the outdoor patio. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $40.00CAD BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... Great beer, great space, great staff. I particularly love the decor--where in the world did you find multiple sets of antique velour couches and chairs that are still in good enough shape to stand up to the wear and tear of brewery patrons?! Well done, Yinz. Naming your beers after lost loves is also a nice touch. I had the Blonde and Brunette on my visit and they are both top notch.

A fitting brewery in the distillery district. It's a grab at the bar and find a seat kinda thing, but they offer a large selection of staples and experimental beers. Since it's a brewery, the menu is beer first with a limited selection of snacks/ food. They have live music to add to the atmosphere. Had the 4 beer flight, 2 experimental and 2 of the standard ones. They were all really good. Would come back to try more!

We were on the brewery tour, and it ended up being the highlight of our evening. Thomas, our tour guide, was outstanding. What could have been a routine explanation of how beer is made became an engaging and entertaining experience. He explained the brewing process and the company's history in a way that was both informative and enjoyable, while keeping guests involved through interactive demonstrations, ingredient samples, and fun questions. The brewery itself is beautiful, with a great atmosphere that makes you want to stay and enjoy the experience. We will definitely be visiting again. Before this visit, I had never purchased Steam Whistle beer, but that has changed. We were served a beer at the beginning of the tour, and it was exceptional--crisp, clean, and perfectly carbonated. We genuinely enjoyed every part of our visit and highly recommend both the brewery and the tour.

They had a wonderful array of options, and I did the tasting flight back then that consisted of two whiskeys and two gin's. I don't remember most of the visit because the spirits were very strong, but I do remember the elderberry gym being fantastic! I remember sitting at the bar and being taken care of and the bartender, being very thorough and polite with explaining each spirit and what hors d'oeuvres it would pair well with. I love the old factory/warehouse vibe of the distillery. The building looked very old from the outside with a more modern interior. It was definitely a highlight of the trip and something I would highly recommend for any avid whiskey drinker.

If you knew me, I always researched for any breweries that may be near wherever I was traveling.
