I spent my entire childhood watching my grandmother, mother, father, and uncle sew. They sewed everything from clothes, to curtains/drapes, and even kites (yes, my father and uncle made custom kites for years). I tried my hand at their machines several times, but was quickly overwhelmed and frustrated...mostly by the darn bobbin process! LOL Instead, I learned how to hand-sew. It's been a useful skill, but I was finally ready to make the leap. Thanks for my husband for buying me a machine for Christmas and then Jen @ Thimble Bee's starting up a beginner class in early January, I am well on my way and have my first series of classes under my belt...and an adorable pillow for my granddaughter as a result. Jen is incredibly knowledgeable and SO SO SO patient! The studio is awesome, roomy, well-equipped, and welcoming. I felt at home there from the first night. I can't wait for Beginner 2 classes to begin next month. Jen also offered classes for kids and teens. The teen class was on the same night as the adult beginner classes and they were finishing as we were coming in. The energy in the room was great and you could tell they were loving it. Their projects are so cute (pillows, bags, etc) as samples are on display in the studio. I can't wait for my granddaughter to be old enough to take classes. Oh - and as an added bonus....it turned out that the machine my husband gifted me for Christmas is the exact model Jen uses in the studio. It has made for a great transition from class to home.

This spring was our first season on an HQ4 travel team, and it was a fantastic experience. Coach Deja and Coach Max made an incredible coaching team. Each time, Coach Caleb takes the time to explain the "why" so that my son can understand the correct way to approach his swing and pitching motion. Drop-off and pick-up are incredibly organized, quick, and easy, which makes a huge difference. Coach Conroy has been wonderful, introducing the kids to a variety of sports while keeping a great focus on teamwork and sportsmanship. They even got some fun swag from local sponsors, and I really love that community-first aspect of supporting the kids through play. ​The best part of the week was seeing my son discover a real love for basketball. He is already asking how he can play more and dive deeper into the sport. We are very pleased with the experience, would absolutely do this camp again, and highly recommend it!
