Pastor Ray is a wonderful teacher who keeps to the word and does not stray from it. I find his sermons ALWAYS pertain to my family/life and I never feel bored or lose interest when he is preaching and that says a lot coming from me, the queen of ADD! We feel at home here and so glad we came for that first Easter service. What I found at Hope City is a gathering of people who genuinely care. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming. It's truly a "come as you are" environment. The worship is dynamic and helps me to lay aside the things of the previous week and focus on the Lord. But the best thing of all is that sitting under and applying Pastor Eric's teaching has changed my life. But they do care for the "unchurched"... In other words maybe you didn't grow up attending church. They just accept you and they allow you to grow the way God allows it . They just opened a new Elementary School for the children and they support sending kids to summer camp with scholarships.

Apparently very active K of C group here, with 90 members. Super-comfort pews .... the best in San Diego, I think. Sound inside the church is excellent: professionally designed. Over the years, there are so many priests who do not speak English as their native language and to me, they are VERY difficult to understand so it's very difficult to feel a part of the Mass when I say to myself "what did he say?" Please note, I do not have a hearing loss. Also, it would be nice if Saint Martin's had a Women's Club. I understand there used to be a Women's Club and then that went belly-up with Covid and was never re-established. I think the only club for women are Women of Faith, and perhaps the Bible study group. The Knights of Columbus might want to consider doing some kind of an outreach program to get more members. It would be nice if there was something specifically for seniors, both men and women seniors, who would feel more connected to our faith and social connections outside of Mass.
