sure wish that the owner would contact us about why we weren't given rain checks!! we paid you for 28 players but only 4 were able to play due to the hurricane that tore thru our hometown while we were in Pinehurst . Practice facility: Legacy sports one of the better practice facilities in the Atlanta Metro area. - They have a huge range that can accommodate a lot of golfers, hitting off grass. - Their practice green is similarly large and has excellent grass and contours. - There are three practice chipping areas with small 'greens' which are not well mown, so you really can't practice chip and putt. I have seen people chip onto the main practice green, though. - No practice bunker, which is a big negative. They really should install one. Course: An 18-hole, par 58 executive course with par 3 and par 4 holes. No par 5s. - Greens are in excellent shape, roll true and are fairly fast. You'll find some contours that demand green-reading skills. - Fairways on the par 4's are not too good. The grass is poor and if you don't have a tight lie off bare spots you may find yourself hunting for your ball in the fairway. They really need to improve the fairways. The grass around the par 3 greens is similar. - Design is good but it's fairly easy. This is a good course to practice your iron shots. Overall, I really like Legacy, mainly for the practice range. I've come here a lot. I may play the course again, too, for no other reason than to better my score (I took a nine on one par 4. Ugh). read more

Legacy Golf Links is a course I've played on and off for 15+ years. What makes this course appealing: 1. It's a short executive course (par 58) where you can finish 18 holes in under 3 hours. 2. The regular weekend rate the last time I played was $25 - a relative bargain. 3. The course isn't located too far from town. It's only about a 20-25 minute drive from Midtown Atlanta. 4. There's a large practice facility and it's open at night. If you're just getting started with the game of golf, Legacy is the perfect place to begin. The pro shop offers a variety of lessons from different instructors. The driving range is big (about 50 stations) and popular. You hit off grass as opposed to mats. This is great except the driving range sees so much use, it's sometimes hard to find patches of grass to hit off of. You just have to get lucky. There's a practice putting green by the first tee and there are two chipping areas on either side of the clubhouse. There is no bunker practice area, however. The driving range, chipping areas, and practice putting green are all generally in good condition. The grass in the chipping areas is more like rough grass, but it's better than nothing. Technically, you can bring your own balls to practice chipping and putting for free. At the range, a small bucket of balls costs $6, medium $9.50, and large $12. The range balls (Wilson Premium) are decent. As for the course itself, it was designed by former PGA Tour pro and three-time major winner Larry Nelson. There are three sets of tees (black, white, red) and the course measures 2,954 yards from the tips. It currently does not appear to have a rating/slope, though I'm sure at one point it did because I've entered scores from this course to calculate my handicap index. There are 14 par 3s and 4 par 4s. The longest par 4 measures only 326 yards. For the reasons stated above, this is a great course for beginners. It's got a little bit of everything too -- undulating greens, elevation changes, bunkers, woods, and water hazards. The greens are Champion Bermudagrass and they are in fantastic shape. They are the best thing about the course. The tee boxes are in good shape too. In contrast, the fairways on the par 4s leave a lot to be desired with swaths of dead grass and patches of dirt leaving you plenty of dried out, tight lie opportunities. At least they have their priorities in order. Some of my favorite holes are right at the beginning: Nos. 2 and 3. No. 2 is a downhill par 3 with a big green guarded by a bunker on the front right. It's fun to watch your high-arching wedge shot plop down on this green. You have to be accurate with your tee shot on No. 3 because the green is an island green. This is one of the most beautiful holes on the course because of the water. For the same reason, No. 10 is another one of my favorite holes. No. 10 is a par 4 with water down the right side. If playing from the white tees, this hole measures only 190 yards. It's fun to try and drive the green. With eagle and birdie opportunities abound, this hole will make you feel like a pro. Most of the other holes are pretty straightforward and not the most scenic nor memorable. The clubhouse is small and simple. The pro shop is stocked with essentials and there is a bar and grill which looks like it was updated in the last 5 years or so. It's got nice and relatively new furniture and a lot of TVs. Not a bad post-round hangout spot. Service is fine. In June 2016, the Marietta Daily Journal reported Legacy may be converted into "AllStar Golf," a golf entertainment and restaurant/bar facility similar to Topgolf. In the proposal, Legacy would be reduced to a 9-hole course. The plan was to open the new facility by the third quarter of 2017. At this rate, I don't think that's going to happen. I'm still new to golf however I can confidently say that in the last 4 months I've been playing...going to new courses just about every week all around north and metro Atlanta this seems to be the only course I continue to come back to...starters are awesome pro shop guys super cool price is unmatched for quality of course the greens are amazing and just the all around vibe to the place is great other then that dang water on the 3rd hole that seems to have a crush on all my balls I guarantee you'll be back for more golf with the boyz Hands down the best public executive golf course in Atlanta P.s...I heard when pros are in town they rent out the entire place to practice short game...that should speak volumes read more

I don't have much experience with golf courses, as this is one of the few I've ever played on, but I absolutely love Legacy. It's a great par 3 course with a few par 4's, which means for newer players like me it's not as challenging or intimidating, and you won't feel like you're holding up players behind you. I've played perhaps 5 rounds of Legacy in the past 3 months, and the greens have always been great, the teeboxes always in good condition, and the fairways always in nice shape as well. You'll find the occasional person who doesn't follow all the cart rules, but that's the exception not the rule. I think courses that provide carts in the regular round fee are just the best, though I know lots of people prefer walking. For the (very) casual player, the carts are cool. The course also offers a couple challenging holes, but not too many to make the game stressful. Two holes have a water hazard, one dog-legs, and there are plenty of bunkers spread around the other holes to avoid. For the most part, you can play 70% of the holes with a pitching wedge. I know this turns a lot of people off, and perhaps in the future I'll tire of it as well, but for the new player I think it's great. The driving range is also solid, but I have only used it once. The practice greens and chipping greens are great additions as well. read more

Update: The manager contacted me a This was a very nice course. I brought my friend out for his birthday and we enjoyed most of this course. We had a great time. But the problem was that our cart died after the 11th hole, so we sat for 10-15 minutes waiting for them to bring us a new cart. Instead of bringing 2 golf carts and having one employee push the dead cart while the other steered it back, they brought one cart and had one of us steer it back. One of us stayed and waited for the new cart while the other was helping bring the dead one back. Then after another 10-15 minutes we were back to playing. But after we finished 4 holes, with 3 more to play, they told us they were closed and had to come back without being able to finish. It was unprofessional in my opinion and could've been avoided by a little bit of thought. I hope others enjoy this course but I will not be back. read more

Great executive course. As a beginning golfer, I've made a point of playing the short courses before I graduate to the "big boy" courses. I love this course for so many reasons from the above average driving range to the friendly staff. Most of all, despite it's executive status, it has it's share of challenging holes and I feel like I'm playing a bigger course (not to mention it's dirt cheap greens fees). My only complaint is how well loved some of the tee boxes. Divot repair doesn't seem to be a thing at this course. read more

WAY too many tees times booked! The pace of play was incredibly slow because of the backlog of players. Course should be done in 2 hours, as many Par 3 courses are, but it took upwards of FOUR HOURS due to the pileup of players at each hole just waiting to play. Additionally, the ranger himself literally advised us to "go ahead and hit our balls" while previous players were still ON THE GREEN to "pick up the pace of play"....mind you, these are 80 yard holes!! Not only dangerous, but absolutely heinous golf etiquette. To be fair, it *was* a beautiful and well maintained course, but whoever is running this shit-show needs to find a new job! read more

I'm uncertain what I do can strictly be consider "golf". Granted, it involves golf balls and golf clubs on a golf course, however, I am definitely not playing the same game as Mickelson let alone Tiger. In any case, whatever it may be called that I am doing, Legacy is a decent course for it considering the price and convenience. I'd call it a 2 star course and 3 star driving range. Legacy offers a golf course and driving range and is shoehorned between Dobbins ARB and Windy Hill Rd between Atlanta Rd and Cobb Pkwy. It has a very short course full of mostly par 3's and 4's that are good for noobs like me to practice their short game. It is also nice to be able to squeeze a round in after work on a spring day (as long as you avoid the rush). Leave the drivers at home because this is a short course. Course conditions are often not great with muddy packed sand in the traps and spotty grass on the greens but the twilight prices and convenience make this place hard to ignore (especially for a hacker like me). The standard full price does seems a bit steep considering the quality and size of the course. To me, the bigger draw is Legacy's driving range. It is decent but gets really busy and can get beat up with the number of people using it. Fox Creek next door gets much less traffic and has much better tee box conditions on the driving range. However, the elevation of the tee boxes at Fox Creek is really high and not typical of those on a course. Another detractor to Legacy is that they close the range at noon on Wednesdays for maintenance which always seemed crazy to me considering it is a convenient range to hit during lunch time. So, all in all, Legacy is convenient, green fees (twilight) can be inexpensive and the range is decent. So I will keep going until I can start hitting my long clubs with greater consistency and feel like it is worth it to commute further and spending a bit more money for a course with better conditions. read more

Legacy Golf course is an executive golf course conveniently located on windy hill. By executive I mean par 3 and 4s and very forgiving to new golfers. They have an excellent driving range and the prices are very reasonable. Attire is everything from T-shirts to polos. For being an executive course you would expect it to play faster. The price seems a little high for a course that is basically a pitch and putt. If you want to use their driving range thats fine but I would look somewhere else for playing a round of golf. What they should do is combine both of their rinky dink executive courses a make a nice golf course. read more

Toilet at 9th hole is not flushing and bathroom needs to be cleaned. Paper towel dispenser is dispensing an inch of paper towels at a time. It seems stuck. Beautiful course and great staff! read more

This little par 3 course is excellent for how close it is to me, and how inexpensive it is as well. The greens are well kept, and they place the pins in pretty difficult locations, especially on the 95 yard holes. The greens are usually hard and fast, which makes it much harder to stick the greens. It even rained the last time I played, and the greens remained fairly firm. I am a fan. I will be back for sure, as they offer a good student rate. read more

Had time from conference to play this course. The staff is very attentive and polite. I rented clubs that were ok. As I have experienced renting clubs from other courses while in the road, I wish the clubhouse would simply clean the clubs before handing them out - would take just a couple of minutes. Played 18 and while the t-boxes were worn, the rest of the course was in good shape. Par 4s will provide a challenge after hitting par 3s repeatedly. Finished up and staff was appreciative. Slowest round I've ever played. Took over 4 hours to play a par 3 course. Waited approximately 15 minutes to tee off on a few holes. No variation in holes. I won't be going back and do not recommend. read more

The private lessons with JR is definitely worth it so give him a try if you need to improve your game! About the course: My husband plays this executive course a lot. Now that I'm starting to get serious about my golf game I've been spending more time here myself. The driving range is pretty good, we can always find a spot, and they move the tee boxes often (a good thing because they can get worn pretty fast). The price is very reasonable. The only downside is that it's close to the dobbins airforce base and I can't imagine that the occasion practice flights are not distracting to your golf game. read more

It is close to my place so I can always drop by and grab a quick round and practice on my short game which as most golfers will tell you is the most important part of a golfers game. What a great little executive course. The greens are fantastic and the course is well maintained and managed. The greens are also quite large so you don't want to get too excited about hitting a lot of greens in regulation. Nevertheless, it's a terrific place to work on your short game. Legacy is an "executive" par-3 course (there are four short par-4 holes; all in the mid-200 yard range) that is generally very well maintained. The fairways (except for Hole No. 11, a par-4) are in good condition with ample turf for chip shots. The holes are well bunkered and provide a good challenge for errant shots. The greens are hard, fast and well-kept thereby requiring solid putting skills. My husband enjoys an occasional round at Legacy as it allows him to use different clubs that often remain in his bag at longer, Championship courses. Additionally, I find the course enjoyable because it suits my "low-power" game. Finally, the greens fees are very reasonable; especially if you book tee times via GolfNow.com. read more

I have been a long-time user of the driving range at Fox Creek, but do not plan to use it again. While parked in the Fox Creek parking lot next to the 9th green, my car was hit by a golf ball that broke the windshield. I tried without success to get Fox Creek to pay for a replacement windshield, but they refused. Their insurance didn't cover it, and the general manager Al Morrison refused to provide any restitution. My advice: Choose another driving range or course where the management cares more about the patrons. If you decide to use Fox Creek, park with caution. read more

Legacy is an executive golf course. Their sister course Fox Creek is also an executive course but it's a little bit longer. The length at Legacy is great for a quick round when you don't have much time and the last time i played the greens were in better condition than most greens i have played in the winter. Compared to other golf courses in this area, Legacy is a good bit cheaper. I frequent the driving range more than i do the course and it is great place to practice. They have two different layers of grass tees and they are always in good shape. And natural grass is way better than rubber mats. The range basket price is cheaper than any range I've been to in the area They also have a player partner rewards program and has earned me several free rounds of golf and range baskets already. read more

This is a great course to work on your game. Most are easy par 3's with only one or two chances to use your driver and the course is in good shape. With the addiction of the 8 inch holes in the center of each green, it has made it more enjoyable for beginner and advanced players alike. I see more younger and older player playing golf at Legacy. People are having more fun playing because of the two hole system there. I have made more birdes playing a Legacy then I ever had in the past. I love playing this little 18 hole executive course. Four par 4's & 14 Par 3's. Well maintainted. Tee boxes, greens and sand traps are in great shape these days. Flowers planted in some of the golf cart turnarounds are a nice touch. The staff is nice and friendly. My wife is just learning and it is a non-threatening environment for her to get some golf course experience. They've added a second set of 8" holes cut into each green for kids, beginners and hackers alike. I use to prefer Fox Creek next door because it is a little longer but I've recently begun to fall in love with this place. Don't expect to find long holes with a long second shot to the green. Do expect to find more opportunities to put it close to the pin or at least on the green from the tee box. don't expect to find rangers breathing down your neck to move it along. Do expect to find others out there with a more relaxed attitude toward enjoying their round. This is a good place to take kids as well. If you want to rush through your round there are lots of opportunities to play through a slower group given all the short holes. Don't expect to find a small flat course in a field. Do exepect to find varying elevations with winding cart paths, lots of trees and a couple of water hazards. This is also a course that I have walked and enjoy walking. There are steep hills that may be difficult for some walkers but if you are fit and able, then it is a great way to enjoy the course. They have carts for riders and they are in good shape; electric not those smelly gas carts like some courses have. They have a nice driving range (clean balls, grass tees, good targets), as well as chipping and putting practice areas. They have a Players Partner Rewards program combined with Fox Creek where you earn points on every purchase toward a free round so don't forget to ask about that up front. I hope this doesn't sound like an ad. I've just really enjoyed my golfing experience here everytime I've gone. read more

This was my first time golfing and I have been to a few courses since. This was by far my favorite executive course I've played. The staff is incredibly friendly and make sure you are having a good time. The environment is not intimidating and great for learning. The price was an excellent deal compared to other courses I've done since. The cart girl came by every 3-4 holes and made sure we were all set on the affordable beers and the water jugs were all full. The overall aesthetic of the course was a pleasant surprise and it was not very crowded either. I will definitely be coming back quite a bit! read more

Definitely a course I would recommend, especially if you do not have a good driver. This course gives you all the luxuries of a normal par 72 course at the fraction of the cost. The marshalls are always friendly and courteous. They have nice fairways and excellent greens. If you are looking to work on wedges and irons I would go play here, there are plenty of birdies to be had and i've even seen a few eagles around there. read more
