Horrible pain or not you better be willing to sit and wait Without anyone telling you why. Not a professional way to treat your patients.

UAMS Health - Simon C. Mears, M.D. - Orthopaedic Hospital…read more Dr Mears is an excellent surgeon. I'm very grateful he did my left hip replacement after I fell. He was precise and I have zero complaints. I would recommend him to anyone. Dr. Mears staff at UMAS Orthopedic Hospital were wonderful. Every one except the APRN were great. The APRN I believe was on a power trip and wanting to show me who was in control. She did nothing to help me and was very condescending to me every time she was in the room. However the Techs, Nurses and Dieticians were amazing. Such great people and very helpful. The nurse in the recovery room was awesome. She even came to see me the next evening in my room. I totally felt blessed to have the complete staff that I had. I wish I could remember all the names because they deserve recognition. I recommend UAMS Orthopedics Hospital 100%. Sarah my last Nurse was so helpful in finding me a pain Med that wouldn't lower my BP when the APRN wanted to give me low dose Toradol which does nothing for pain. Nurse Sarah went above and beyond to find something that was truly helpful at least for almost 3 hours. It was tough having no pain meds for many hours but I made it.

It's been a nightmare from Day One…read more Dr. Ironside was an incredibly intelligent, efficient, quick doctor who actually seemed like he was listening. Dr. Bao was really great as well, and took my case with literally no appointment because the schedulers screwed everything up. LITERALLY everything else has been completely horrid. Our first appointment with an endocrinologist wound up getting cancelled the day of with no phone call from anyone. We drive from Greers Ferry so we got there after a two-hour drive only to be told the appointment was cancelled and the doctor had already left. Luckily, the patient care person (also seemed to care about patients) was able to snag the other endo who was in the building and he was actually able to see me. Also a pretty great doctor, honestly. Then it all went downhill. Yep, even further. I had to get a lumbar puncture, and had to call and pester the doctor's office for TWO WEEKS to get a phone call back. Let me be accurate: the test was on a Wednesday, I finally got a call the Monday before it would have been two weeks. I called to see about pain meds for the day or two after the LP: no answer. No pain meds. No relief. No F&ks given, clearly. During all this, I went ahead and sent my doctors my history with a timeline, because my shit is complex. We're talking endocrine (secondary adrenal insufficiency), neurological (intracranial hypertension and some other minor things, empty sella etc), and also autoimmune (celiac, sarcoidosis, and autoimmune hepatitis all biopsy-confirmed, as well as lupus and RA); sending this info is helpful. See again: complex case. Zebra, not horse. Rather than any follow-through or any communication amongst specialists (or even with me, the patient) despite my many requests for such I've been ignored, told I was hostile (because the girl doesn't know the difference between hostile and frustrated, the idiot) HUNG UP ON when I asked for a supervisor, and neglected. The standard of care here is zero. Go there if you want to actually die from neglect in a first-world country. Ooh, especially fun if you like wanting to punch someone through the phone. Good times.

UAMS Family Medicine Clinic - Look at the values section. I noticed no one follows these other than the Doctor LOL. I only visited the office in the back entrance.

Staff - Very poor co-ordination between different departments. Of all the Four visits I have been…read morethere. The staff is complaining about how other departments are not doing their duties properly and forgetting that they are not doing their work properly. I felt like I was in a nursery with kids fighting over candy. LOL Service - The service was ok. My expectations of UAMS was high so I was disappointed. But they did deliver my medical exam result without fail. My only concern about this place is they are not there to help you. They are there to work and make money. They will make sure they get paid with your money but not to make sure you get the top quality service. If you are expecting them to be responsive and proactive with their duties then you will be very disappointed. If you have time and patience to deal with unprofessional and lazy people then this is the place to go. I also wanted to mention this. The nurses are definitely not well trained and their knowledge of the services they offer is not on par with the standard that UAMS name projects. The hospital definitely has potential. But they need more co-ordination and respect towards the patients and definitely definitely more training and skilled workers. Pros: Availability of services Cons: Unfriendly staff Poor co-ordination between departments. Delay in the time frame for the services Final Verdict: I would not recommend this place for anyone. I am already taking care of two kids at home. I don't have time to babysit and follow up with more kids at the hospital (Staff). This si the duty of the hospital management and they are not doing their job. If you have time and patience go here and waste your time and money. Good Luck. :-)

I have been a patient at the UAMS Family Medicine Clinic since 2002. During 99% of that time I have…read morereceived exemplary care. The only time I was unhappy with my care was ONE time and on that occasion a different resident was covering for my PCP. She was clueless and her supervisor had to be one of the rudest people that I had EVER encountered. Neither one of them are there now. Thank goodness! That being said the clerical staff are very helpful and friendly while the clinical staff are extremely professional and do their jobs very well. I have ZERO complaints and I have multiple complicated to deal with medical conditions so I have had many visits to this clinic. I have had my primary care physician for 12 years now and my only concern about her is that she is moving toward retirement and I do not know what I will do without her. She has been a most excellent PCP. I would recommend the UAMS Family Medicine Clinic to anyone who needs a PCP.

I got the feeling she did not know what she was doing They took everyone back (except 1 person) before me that arrived AFTER me Editing to add- because this provider was extremely incompetent I had to go to a different urgent care the next day. I was struggling to breathe even though my pulse ox showed a good result. Today I saw a provider at a different urgent care (Chenal urgent care is the place to go to)that listened and cared. He did a chest X-ray that showed really bad bronchial inflammation and gave me a steroid shot. I do not recommend Baptist urgent care even if you think you are dying. They do not care. They are incompetent. Also, someone who works there smells horribly of cigarette smoke. It was floating around everywhere. I know it's an employee bc they came into our room to turn off the machine that was making our room freezing cold and when she came in we got the horrible cigarette smoke smell again

Urgent Care is a joke! After checking in I sat for a full hour even though their website update…read moresaid "check-in time 5:27....0 patients ahead of you" All I had was a splinter of foreign object in the bottom of my foot I needed someone other than my wife to lay eyes on....Then an admin person takes my vitals and wants me to go through my entire medical history...I'm 68 years old...with a splinter in my foot...really? On top of that, I told her I was registered with the Baptist Health System with all my information. She says, "Oh, we're not affiliated with Baptist Health." I say, "Wait a minute, you're called Baptist Health Urgent Care and you're telling me this organization is not affiliated with Baptist Health?" She says, "That's right...yeah it would be a lot easier if we were..,," That's total misrepresentation not to mention I'm now sitting in an examination room with no Physician seeing me for another 30 minutes...for a splinter in my foot...really? Finally fed-up, I walk out of the examination room and there's like 4 employees sitting around behind plexi-glass wall. I told them I was leaving. They said, "We only have 1 doctor or nurse practitioner available...they get to you!" They were all surprised to see me pop out of the examination room and announce I was leaving...it looked like they'd been caught doing absolutely nothing...which is exactly how should. This was the worse minor emergency clinic experience I've ever had. I've got more to say...but I've wasted way too much time for a silly splinter. NEVER AGAIN
