I played Legendary Run today and very much enjoyed the course. It is well maintained and an excellent layout. My only complaint - and it is a big one - is that it takes far too long to play the course. This was the second time I have played the course in the last few weeks and probably the last. Both times I played it took well over four and half hours to finish. Today it was about four hours and 45 minutes. The problem is that they book tee times at 9-minute intervals. That puts way too many people on the course and results in very slow play. read more

Played here recently for the first time in a decade and while the course still has a great layout it has deteriorated significantly. It appears they do not have the money to maintain the course properly. It had rained a lot the night before, and I was surprised they were letting carts on the course. While I don't like cart path only this is the only way to protect your course. There are much better maintained tracks to play in the area. read more

My son and I played on a Monday afternoon. Staff was great pace of play was good. Greens were pretty awful. Nothing but ball marks. Also went to fix my divot and carts had no sand container. It's great for the PGA industry that they added about 10 million people because of COVID but can't they have a internet course that teaches you about course and play etiquette and then you have a card to prove you passed the course. If you don't have the card then you can't get a tee time at any PGA recognized course. This isn't the only course that has beat up greens and fairways to be fair. read more

This is a very nice, clean facility to have events inside of it. The place is fairly spacious and is able to fit a substantial amount of people in it. We enjoy having my husband's family meet us there and celebrate like Christmas every December. read more

The person who runs this place needs to be fired immediately... had a outing here they yelled at us for pace of play, when it's there fault they scheduled tee times in front of our outing.. we had a two man scramble, 2 teams so two carts a teebox. god this place sucks they wouldn't let us stop at the club house at the turn, and even made us skip hole 16 which is a par 3 where we had closes to the pin set up for our OUTING. I wouldNT trust these people to run a Damn Burger King Right they'd definitely forget your order of fries, and giving you a chicken sandwich when you ordered a whopper. The people running the show act like they are better then you and have zero clue how to run a course. If there grounds crew wasn't good this would be the #1 worst course in god damn America. read more

This course is great, always in solid condition. Priced fairly for the quality of the tee boxes, fairways and greens. Only gripe is the pace of play sometimes during busy days can stretch 5 hours. The condition of the greens was pathetic and unacceptable. Just astonishingly bad. Not sure I have ever seen greens with that many rough spike marks and ball marks. The spike marks reminded me of the old metal spike marks where the turf gets shredded. Even some of the holes were slightly damaged. When you mark your ball, you cannot place it back where it was, because you have to avoid placing the ball in a severe spike mark, yeah, it's that bad. Hard pass, will not play here again, which is a shame because the facility, pro shop, etc. is nice. read more

Course is nice, but pace of play is unacceptable. I've played this course about 25 times now and it's always 3 1/2 9, or a 7-8 our 18 waiting 25 minutes on each tee box. There are a couple of nice rangers but the bald guy at the front desk and the ranger with the Mario mustache are very rude when it's their fault they stack tee times. read more

To be brief, this was a big let down unfortunately. I was super excited to play this course, I had seen it mentioned in a lot of articles as one of the best courses in the area and had high expectations. Pulling up to the Clubhouse, it appeared to live up to the hype; the driving range is nice and neat; the clubhouse, pro shop and carts were high quality. What killed the day for me was the fact that my 18-hole round took almost 6 HOURS!!! They say on the website that pace of play is enforced and that they expect you to finish a round in roughly 4 hours; this is far from true. If that were true, they wouldn't book groups 5 mins apart. I'm not exaggerating when I say, every single tee box had 3 groups waiting to go! I waited 10,15,20 minutes on every single hole to tee off. When you finally do get to tee off, you feel rushed and nervous because of the gallery of other golfers that are now waiting on you to get out of their way. I was by myself and I had planned on a laid back day at a slower pace, but I never imagined it would take 6 hours to get through 18 holes (I don't think I've ever had a round last longer than 4&1/2 hours, even in the rain) The course is beautiful; the layout is challenging and unique; the facilities are nice; the price is decent; those things are true, but because of how disappointing this experience was for me, I don't know if I will be back... and I can't say I'd recommend it. I guess if you're looking for a special occasion type of round, and you don't mind driving out to Batavia/Anderson area, it might be worth it... but just plan on spending your whole day there (spending most of your time watching other people golf). Don't just take my word on the pace of play issues, there's plenty of other reviews that say the same thing, and I've had 6 people tell me about similar experiences they've had there. It would appear that it's pretty standard of this golf course; which makes it all-the-more confusing and frustrating that they feel the need to advertise their 'expectations' of a round lasting 4 hours. Also: They will pair you with strangers, "every time on weekends" per one of their employees, which they do not tell you ahead of time... some people don't care to be paired up with strangers, but if you're like me, if I book a round for just myself, it's because I want to be, by myself. Sometimes it's nice just to have a day to yourself and just play golf. If I wanted company, I would have invited people to come with me. But if your just going to jam as many people on the course as you can and force people to go in 'groups' with strangers, then be transparent about that; make it explicit that if you book a tee time for 1 person that you will be grouped. I wouldn't have booked a tee time here if I knew that ahead of time. Overall I was just really let down by this experience! I had much higher expectations for how this day was going to play out. And for me, in this circumstance, the value of the course layout and conditions were lost because of the pace of play. It's hard to get in a rhythm when there's 10-15 minutes in between each shot, yet you're constantly feeling pressured to move-along. Most disappointing outing of the year so far, and it's a shame that it happened to be on one of the courses that I was looking forward to playing most. read more

Played this course since it opened and always enjoyed it and recommended it to others. Played yesterday and it was horrible. Teed off at 1:30 and was making the turn at 4:05. Stopped to get refreshments and the line was crazy because of leagues ordering their drinks before going out. When we got to # 10 the league play already had begun and we had to jump into the mix which was not a popular idea for the league players. Greens were a mess with ball marks. I don't want to complain without recommending solutions. 1) MANAGE THE PACE OF PLAY, groups that are slow need to skip holes if necessary, that is what you pay rangers for. Please quit catering to slow players. 2) Have a special line for golfers making the turn. To speed up play they should always have priority over other customers. 3) #5 hole is always backed up. Place a sign to direct carts to be parked behind the green on the makeshift path so golfers do not have to backtrack to their carts while group behind waits to hit approach shots. Use orange cones to block any other option until people catch on. 4) communicate to all players to fix their divots. What happened to sand bottles on carts? Also communicate to fix all ball marks on greens. Monitor this and manage. 5) if you cannot maintain bunkers then eliminate them. Terrible shape! read more

Course is challenging but damn do they need new management. We had an 8 in front of us. Really? So of course pace of play was 5.5 hours. That is just insanity. The cart situation is bananas. They pack so many people on that there are no carts available until 5 mins until your tee time. Seriously need to invest in more carts. Really frustrated. Will never be back thanks to the poor management and interpersonal skills of Mike Chandler (general manager). Grew up playing this course but what I just experienced not even close to what I remembered. Now I understand why they are begging for memberships and offering them at such a discounted rate. Nice golf course. Front is walkable. Back 9 you must have a cart. Course is around neighborhood. I like the yardage markings throughout the course and the marked sprink lerheads. Fairways, greens and traps are in good condition. Good restaurant. Late night 9 hole deal. read more

I have belonged to many fine courses throughout my life. Belonged to Oasis for seven plus years and I was finally at a point to get a membership somewhere more local to where I currently live. I use to play this course in high school as a local player all the time and wanted to check out how it has developed over the years. It has been about 10 years since I have been. After calling in, I was told I would receive a free round due to my interest in a membership with the club. Needless to say I was very excited and thought that to be very professional. Long story short .... kicked off after 9 holes while coming in to buy lunch. General manager Mike Chandler called me a liar and said no free round was granted. I showed the receipt, but was rudely kicked off the grounds. Mike Chandler lost a lot of future business over his unprofessionalism and calling me a liar. I would have easily understood if there was a misunderstanding but Mike just called me a liar and said get out. Worst general manager ever!!!! read more

Golf course ok. Rough extremely high, takes forever to play. Pick another course if you can. Elks Run is much better!

Let me just start by saying I really love this golf course. I play mostly on public courses and I found this one on Google and it was a little far away. However it was well worth it. The course runs through a series of beautiful neighborhoods and the course is kept in just as good of shape. I've played here twice now and for being spring, the course was in great shape. The course was in mid August shape already! The staff was very friendly and the pro shop was stocked up. I over heard the cashier calling 4 sums to make sure they were still coming for their tee times. Good business ethics and customer service. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the back 9. The front 9 is very good and coordinates well. The back 9 requires you to ride. So if you wanted to walk, you can only walk the front 9 and then they'll provide the cart for the back 9 (they have it waiting for you when you finish hole 9). I haven't done my research but it seems like the back 9 was created later on because you have to drive everywhere! And it's not very well posted either. You could easily go to the wrong hole because there's not many sign. But the back 9 is really pretty. They have nice hole creations and a lot of ponds that come into play. read more

Front nine is gimmikie, lots of blind shots and hidden trouble. Back nine is more straight forward, rewards for good shots and such. Greens were horrible. Was told they were cut and rolled but they were bouncy, rough, and SLOW! Think aerated greens minus the holes. read more

Not sure how this course doesn't have at least 4 stars compared to some of the other public courses in Cincinnati. Not knocking the other courses but Legendary Run is far superior in my opinion. Well maintained and challenging. The type of course that makes you really think about your next shot before you hit off the tee. My only complaint is I wish it was closer to where I live. read more

Buyer beware! I recently purchased 2 gift certificates from them A "Legendary" day for you and a guest to enjoy a large bucket of balls, a round of 19 holes, a cart, two drink vouchers and $40 to be used at The Pub at Legendary Run Golf Course Questions were asked, reservations were made, reservations were confirmed; very friendly and helpful. Showed up to golf and they refused to take the certificates because of stipulations on the certificates which THEY had chosen to override when we made our reservation. Plus the young manager does not know how to contain his tongue. Not good to cuss at paying customers not to mention customers who paid 2 times for 1 round of golf. read more

This course was kept extremely clean and well maintained. The course was forgiving and offered a lot of redemption. The greens were in pristine shape and for a public course this is the place to play. The cost was affordable. read more
