Zielgler Park - YOU DA BEST! Created with the local community in mind, the renovated park features a new pool, upgraded basketball courts, a children's playground, a game grove, great lawn, ping pong tables and more! My favorite part has to be the POOL! (2018 season passes now available. Call Andrea at 977-8002 for more information.) The other AMAZING PART?! Passes are available based on a sliding scale and income so that everyone in the community can enjoy. Another plus? You can even rent out the pool for private functions! How cool is that?! The pool features go ON and ON! - A single, connected pool with three distinct areas featuring varying depths - Zero depth walk-in zone with spray and bubbler features - Handicap accessible entry ramp with handrails - Large central section of pool perfect for swimming, play, and swim team events - Five regulation 25-meter lanes with diving platforms - Diving well and diving boards - Climbing wall slightly arcing over water - Large, family-friendly deck space - Fully accessible Pool Service building with restrooms, showers, first aid and concessions After living in OTR for 8+ years now I don't think I have ever seen such a wide range of people come together (seriously!) All ages, races, sizes and shapes. This pool has done something really special and it warmed my heart to see. Highly recommend checking this place out next summer!

This is a great new pool in the heart of OTR (also a small splash park and a playground). I've been here a few times this summer and here's some tips: - get here before noon if you want to ensure you'll get a lounge chair. They open at 11am. - feel free to bring a cooler and snacks. No alcohol though. They also sell some food like chips and popsicles. - don't worry about kids. There are not usually many here. The crowd is mostly 20s-30s I would say. This is one large pool that wraps around to varying depths. They also have a rock wall and diving board. They play popular music and the staff is friendly. Entry is only $4 for adults, $2 for kids and seniors.

Went here for the doggy swimming event and was very impressed with how orginzed the event was. Tickets were pre-sale, and there was no issue checking in. Staff was making rounds checking on dogs and being fun and playful. All the dogs seemed to love it, what a cute idea! Would come back to next year's event.

Slow Tuesday afternoon. Plenty of spots.

SWIMMERS BEWARE. UC…read moreRec is a world class facility, and I have been a community member [read: ADULT with ADULT schedule] for several years mainly for the joy of swimming in the natatorium. So, what's your two-star beef, lady? I swim long distances. I prefer deeper lanes for cooler water temperature and less turbulence. In order to ensure that I will procure my preferred lanes, I check the Aquatics Department's calendar and schedule my swims when the calendar states that 10 lanes will be available for lap swimming. A month ago, I was asked to vacate my lane and squeeze into one of the 5 shallow lanes in order to make room for a community swim team that had reserved the deeper lanes for their practice. Check my math here, but I think the calendar should have reflected that only 5 lanes were available at the time of the reservation. (As a side note, why does the team's reservation (or revenue) trump my monthly membership fee?). I left the Aquatics director a message to this effect. No call back. Fool me once. The same thing happened again today. Fool me twice, shame on me. There will be no third time. I've already cancelled my membership, as I indicated that I would in my message for the Aquatics Director. I will join a facility that values my time, schedule, and membership, in part, by keeping an accurate calendar. However, if you are ok with this type of shoddy operations' management, UC Rec is a fabulous place.

We rode the free streetcar here from Findlay Market in Cincinnati (May 2026). There's street parking on all sides of the park, and 450-space underground parking on Elm Street that you can check for open-spaces online. We strolled through the flat paths, pausing here and there on the many sometimes-shady benches. Us adults read various historical and commemorative markers. The kids played a little in the fountain, then played more in the sunnier playground to (mostly) dry out before the return ride to Findlay. There was a nice open-air bar in the middle of the park, nice restaurants and bars within a couple blocks in all directions, at least one vacation rental, and at least one rentable event venue in a historic building. There's Wifi! Public restrooms :-) A dog-park. Woof! The website said food trucks, but we didnt look for them. There are free concerts and movies and yoga and monthly flea markets, but not midday on the weekday when we were there. This is a nice relaxing easy-to-reach 8-acre greenspace with lots going on, in the western part of OTR, and a destination for all kinds of activities. Well done, Cincy!
