Which was OK as others were pretty accessible. | On a few holes, a driver is not required, and on others, a long drive buys you nothing. If you are going to play over the Xmas break the greens are fast and it is best to keep your ball below the hole. The course is in good shape (for the winter), the price is right, and the folks are friendly. I will definitely return in the spring. A strong 4 stars!

You want to take what it gives you on the front 9 and do your scoring on the back 9 I must admit we did have a lot of good course info provided by the golf staff prior to play. what an experience from the moment we arrived we could tell the staff was very proud of this Muni, well groomed and the greens were very nice for as hot as it was and the fact it was a city park course, with that said I am not giving due justice to this track. Would I play it again ABSOULUTLY. A little advice to long hitters playing from the tips DO NOT HIT Driver on number 2 even though I was warned before hand I failed to take the great advice given and left a Pro V1 out there LOL, Maybe with a little helping wind there would have been a different outcome. My advice is if you are a beginner or a seasoned golfer and visiting Fredericksburg Texas DO NOT PASS this one up. Unfortunately we were pretty hot and spent after our round and was not in the mood to eat and the restaurant but what we could see the burgers looked awesome. Site 5 is absolutely the best site with direct views of the water but 6/7 (right next to one another so good for groups) and 8 are all lovely sites. Good tree cover and you can take the small trail down to the water for swimming/fishing. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table and lots of flat land for tents. For the hotel/restaurant, we stayed in K1 which has direct views of the water. These are not fancy rooms (no tvs or fancy furniture) but it was so relaxing and beautiful. The restaurant is good with a full bar and beautiful lake views.

It's the Llano Crawfish Open, a small country town festival and golf tournament taking place for over 30 years in the 2nd half of April. Of course, 2020 messed with all the fun, but they are back for 2021 and I personally can't wait to go get my share of tasty crawfish on the banks of the Llano River. Knowing that some good ol' boys from Beaumont are managing the boil gives me confidence that this is one not to miss. Prices for crawfish are usually $25 per flat, about 2 lbs of spicy mudbugs plus corn, potatoes and sausage. Major charitable recipients of the proceeds include the Llano Special Opportunity Center and Meals on Wheels, two nonprofit organizations who serve the community and promote dignity for our elders and neighbors with disabilities. Different years have had different events over the course of the weekend, but you can be sure there will be live music (zydeco and country) until midnight, BBQ, beer, and crawfish until sold out. I've heard 2021 will include sports like motorcycle run, team roping, and corn hole, in addition to the usual golf. Entry fees for 2021 are as follows: Friday - free noon - 7pm, $20 per person after Saturday - $10 from 11am - 7pm, $20 after Ice chests not permitted. Come on, now, this is a benefit for charity!
