I had bought my car there back in 2015. A couple months ago, I had it taken in for a couple recall…read moreparts to be changed, and for something that was going on with my car. They stated that I needed new tires, brakes, pads, and rotors. I paid to get all my issues fixed which came to just over 2 grand. Not even 3 weeks later, when driving, I started to smell burnt rubber. I pulled over and noticed that my back left tire was smoking, and my plastic hubcap was even starting to burn. I already had an appointmwnt with Big Bens Auto for an oil change, so I asked him to take a look. He stated that though the brakes and rotors were done, my caliper had not been replaced and it had now seized the the point that it was overheating. I was terrified my tire was going to blow due to the heat. I called the service desk at hyundai and was told I would reviece a callback by the end of the day. By the end of the day, I still had not received a call, so my friend called them again. This time, we were transferred to the answering machine of the employee that was in charge of fixing my car, where my friend proceeded to leave a message about our experience and the terrible job done to my car, demanding a callback. They never did. Life gets busy and I did forget to follow up again, but when it seized for the 2nd time while driving, I knew something had to be done. Because I had gotten nowhere with hyundai, I decided to take my car back to Big Bens Auto. He took a video documenting that my brakes on the driver side had overheated so much, the pads were melted and white. He replaced my brakes and caliper, and I ended up paying another $776. I had him do up an invoice, send me the videos, and I took them to hyundai to get a refund. They told me because I took it somewhere else, that they would not help me out in anyway. I told them that I had tried to call, never got an answer back, and that I was terrified something would happen and needed to get it fixed ASAP. That if they hadn't done the terrible job in the first place, I would not be in this situation, and because I have my young child in the car, for hers and my own safety, it shouldn't matter where I took it, as long as it got fixed. They took the invoice from Big Bens Auto and viewed the video. I was then told that they would have to take it up to their boss, and I would receive a call back in max 2 days time or less. I did receive a call back by end of day and all they told me was, "nope, sorry, we will not do anything at all for you." I have heard a couple people tell me how terrible this dealership is, and now I have experienced it first hand. I will not be returning, and will make sure that those closest to me do not take their business to them, unless they want a below par job done, and to have their safety risked by shotty workmanship.
