An independent safety inspection from Canadian Tire on September 12, 2025 confirmed multiple safety failures, including damaged rear brake lines. Despite returning the vehicle to the dealership on four separate occasions, the core issues remain unresolved. I am deeply concerned about the validity of the original safety certification and the dealership's refusal to acknowledge independent findings. Additionally, the conduct of the dealer has been unprofessional, with repeated attempts to discourage outside inspections and shift blame. This situation raises serious concerns about public safety, consumer rights, and regulatory compliance. I have filed a complaint with OMVIC and submitted all documents. Depending on the outcome, I may also pursue Small Claims Court. The mechanics, at autosolve told me i was lucky to be alive. When I finally reached David Tavazoei at the used car center at the dealership after being run around in circles by the other staff he offered me 2k for the car in the state it was in, to "do the right thing and make things right with me" as well as 2k off the next car we bought with them. After hearing this I then reached out to another dealership in midland and showed them detailed pictures and told them my incident and they offered me 3k for the vehicle, but 1k more if the engine was in good condition. At this point, It was clear David was not offering me any sort of deal to make things right, after I had told him my situation, and was only trying to make another sale to get more business from me, and to get my review taken down to better their reputation (which he asked me to take down). We have a 5 month old baby who my wife needed this car for emergencies for, and also appointments since we live in the country and cant take a taxi/uber. We are now in the hole 12k now with our loan, and we are already struggling enough as it is just to get by. At this point, I have reported this business to the BBB for their shady practices, contacted the Newmarket National with my story, and spoken to the consumer protection board to file a complaint, and have now have gotten a lawyer (pro bono) to make a claim to take this to small claims court against the dealership as well. This has all been so much stress for our entire family dealing with this massive financial issue, and all the calls that needed to be made, I will be posting this everywhere I can to get the word out . we trusted this dealership to provide us a safe car!! Awful experience trying to purchase a Subaru…read more In Feb 2023, I wanted to purchase a Subaru but was told that there would be a 3-4 month wait for the vehicle. I put a deposit down because in the contract that was signed, there were terms that stated after 120 days I could cancel the agreement with a full refund on my deposit. There was no where on the contract that stated the refund was not refundable. This month, my financial and personal situation have changed. It no longer makes sense to purchase the vehicle. It had also been more than 120 days since the contract was signed and the vehicle has not been delivered still (No VIN or new ETA either). I asked my salesperson, Travis, to cancel the agreement and refund me my deposit but they were unwilling to refund my deposit. Travis' reasoning was that the car was custom built, however in communication prior to signing the contract there was no mention of the car being custom built. My understanding was that Subaru was simply allocating cars to their dealership. I'm also pretty sure they would have no issue selling the car to another person as soon as I cancelled. I WOULD RECOMMEND ANYONE THINKING OF DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS DEALERSHIP TO TAKE THE CONTRACT TERMS WITH A GRAIN OF SALT. DO NOT GIVE THEM DEPOSIT MONEY UNLESS THE CAR IS AVAILABLE ON THE LOT OR JUST DON'T PURCHASE FROM THEM AT ALL. See the photo with the cancellation condition from the contract. They also didn't notify me after the 120 day window like they said they would according to the contract.
