Our child is comfortable being left there and sometimes tells us that we picked him up too early and that we need to come back later, which means that he's happy there. I have used 2 daycares, both thoroughly researched alongside all the other local options, including checking violations on the state website. I have never seen a single daycare without multiple violations, but I check that they are being responsible about them and that none of them are a deal breaker. I highly recommend ALC-Fogelsville. The one thing that I would advise is if you need to communicate about an individual question, you may need to ask in person and then keep track of it yourself in order to get it handled. Please also keep aware that what you communicate to teaching staff may not get to office staff and vice versa, which is a very normal things that come up at child care centers.

You need to go with your gut, and must visit the facilities and speak with those in charge. But here is my bottom line. Once you walk out of the building, those people are now in charge of your child's life. Period. Perfection is impossible. But in my eyes, my experience, and my 20 month old sons reaction every day we pick him up, Active Learning Centers is as close as one can get. They are like family. They always have time to speak with me or my wife. Funny thing is, I think our son eats better for them than us! I would often say, he ate what snack??? We can never get him to eat. He is so fussy! Infants and toddlers cannot be forced to eat or drink. Hey I'm an old man and you still can't get me to eat tomatoes! The things our son is learning is amazing. He loves to give everyone there a hug and I have never, felt more secure leaving my son with others. FYI- I am not new to this. I have three children in their 20's. I would do anything to protect this new little man. From the infant room to now being in toddler 1, my wife and I are thrilled that our son feels at home at Active Learning Center.

Around 6 partial weeks . she ended up with a goose egg on her forehead the 2nd day because she supposedly fell from a seated position. The Dr. Said she couldn't have gotten that big a bump from a seated position. Now yesterday she was bitten by another older child to the point the skin was broken,because they put 2 classes outside in the play yard at the same time. Apparently our Dr. Over reacted as well according to them because he put her on an antibiotic to be on the safe side. When we spoke to the owner about our concerns we were told we were over reacting and our child was no longer welcome but the child who bit her could stay. We are seeking legal measures. Please if you care for your child's safety go somewhere else.

It was started by a very wonderful lady named Mary. I swear she was sent from heaven. I started going there when I lived in Pottstown and they were only Friday nights. I was a fish out of water and Mary took me under her wings. She saw how frustrated I was getting so she spent time with me until I was enjoying myself. She was just so sweet. I didn't know her except for Bingo but when I just think about her I well up in tears. You can't forget her. Present time she is everywhere in the Bingo hall Pictures everywhere to remind you this was all her idea. And ALL THE MONEY goes to helping people that have to do with organ donation. Whether it's needing an organ or a family that can't afford it or even to fly people where the organ is. I made that up but I know they would do that. They also help with small business in the Pottstown area. So how can you not feel that when your there. It is just an awesome family and and an awesome business. AND AN AWESOME BINGO. The rooms seem over crowded with children. Most of the teachers seem ok or at least they provide adequate service for what they are paid. I know the ownership has changed in the last few months and the new director seems to be cleaning up a bit. She focused on her office first. So that shows some priorities. The play ground is a big rubber mat no grass. Most of the toys are old and broke,and the balls look like they should all be thrown out. Parking is pretty bad when it's busy but you can just park in the handicap spots like all the other people that do and shouldn't. All in all there are much better places in the area for the same price or just a few dollars more.

Found a jacket in the no tag section where prices go based off the sign. At the check out, the lady tells me that this coat "should have" a tag because it's Columbia brand, and that it would be $4 more than what the sign was BECAUSE they up-charge for Columbia. She asked if that was okay, and told her that the sign said $8 for jackets. She then proceeded to say "it's okay not to buy it". Maybe $4 is not a lot to the average person, but it is a lot to most people going to thrift stores, including myself. You got the item for free and I'm coming to a thrift store because I can't afford to buy retail as a student... I ended up not buying because of that increase in price. Again, the jacket was in no means "good condition", it just fit and I needed a jacket. It's unprofessional to up-charge a worn item at the cash register just because you THINK it should be more.
