Bob Link came to our house reviewed all the information and told us they could handle all the final paperwork, billing, permits and adjust our gutters to better handle rain runoff. JTR replaced the roof and gutters in a timely manner and were very easy to work with by handling the final claim processing and paperwork. Initially we were told it would be done by Thanksgiving and it ended up going through Christmas. Throughout this process there were numerous issues. They installed a bath fan that still did not work appropriately and the contractor put his foot through the newly finished knockdown ceiling, floor tile improperly laid, improper grouting (they had to reapply multiple times), electrical outlet and switch not installed level, they damaged the bathtub, the entire tile surround in shower was installed badly and waving. Not to mention the mess left outside, drywall compound/grout water being dumped in my backyard and damaged my siding/grass; and a piece of plywood in the front yard that was buried by snow during the project and killed my grass when found in spring. Due to this, I reached out to the GC about my complaints in March of 2025. The GC was shocked by the quality of the initial job and stated he would correct the mistakes. They finished corrections in January 2026. After the "corrections", the bathroom fan doesn't work and drips a lot of water when in use. The entire surround was replaced and still not done well, the tiles aren't aligned and in one spot i have a cut myself a few times from the tile jutting out. Not to mention, I purchased this tile for the contractors and didn't receive payment until the fix was complete months later. This was brought up during the second surround installation and the solution was to add more grout to the bottom of the jutting out tile. This grout has since deteriorated and it is sharp again. Grouting was done incorrectly and redone 3 times during the fix. Multiple attempts to patch the damage to the tub were done, damage still visible in 2 spots. They tiled over a water pipe that held the shower wand, so we had to wait for the GC to drill into the tile to reveal the pipe. The plumber came out to the drilling being incomplete and had to reschedule multiple times. To the plumber and I's dismay, this delayed the process. On the other side of the shower there is a closet with an access panel which has began to show increased signs of water intrusion at the top of the wall near the shower head. In the end, I was compensated for the tile I purchased + a little extra. (this did not cover the cost of tile plus interest due to delays). Plus a bathroom with improper tiling, a steam issue (to the point it has rusted the light fixture in the bathroom), and incredibly messy finishes (including towel racks falling out of wall). We wasted 20k dollars and will have to pay to have the bathroom remodeled, yet again. BEWARE, please think twice before using this company. I will not be recommending/referring them to any friends, family, or clients.

In both cases Chad Donnay was extremely helpful and got the problems resolved in a very timely manner. Neither I nor my wife are very good at making many decisions all at once (which there are when building a new home) but the process was quite painless with the help of everyone at Donnay Homes. Overall we're very pleased with our home both inside and out, it's been a great first home and we would likely have them build us another if we move.

It required a lot more work than we thought, but the wood was completely rotted and basically slumping off. This is a long term property so we wanted it done right. Fast work and cleaned up the ground below with a magnet to grab any nails. Nice customer service.

Driveway could have been completed in June but we asked if driveway can be delayed till August/2023, we had a whole bunch of landscaping needed to be finished first. He said ok call him when I'm ready. We were scheduled to plant 16 Maple trees down our driveway when we found out the property stake was incorrect we were on our neighbor's lot (empty at the time) and according to our city ordinances you have to be 10ft away from our neighbor's property line. We now have to move the driveway, can't plant trees can't put irrigations driveway is lay with class5 rocks it had to be dig out. (All conversations posted on Yelp) long story short driveway was moved, driveway went in first week of September, two weeks later got an email balance needed to collect for driveway. (Loan closed driveway included) First email from Tiffany, an invoice for rebasing/digout/weeds. Second email from Justin, billing not for those reasons. Here comes the ugly side of Justin when I said I will not pay. You should never call your customer "dishonest" how are you going to bill me after my loan has closed. Yes we have talked about a bigger driveway which I was never quoted for, no change order was signed off by me like all previous upgrades. 1 year warranty was approaching I emailed over the list and this was the response I got (email Oct/23 MUST READ) they responded quick when I reminded them of state requirements. (Nov/4 email) Took awhile for everything to be scheduled. Jan/2024 I was still waiting for paint, emailed couple time no response. Finally received a email saying all warranty required by the State of Minnesota has been completed. Pay the $1200 and we will come finish the job. (In other words Feb/8/2024 email) I would never recommend TJB to anyone. A builder supposedly been around for so many years would be this petty over $1200 over mistake they made themselves is mind boggling! I would've just finished the job and move on to the next! Last few photos are how they left my home looking after they sanded down ceilings and filled in the wall cracks. The audacity for leaving a 2 million house looking like this. TJB "Luxury home builder" this is what luxury finishes looks like! I only wish I did more research and homework. We love our home and our neighbors, too bad we ended with a shitty builder. Not a reputable company in our neighborhood will continue to warn others!
