When we lived locally we often had take away food from China Diner and it was always very good. There is a good choice for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. The staff were always friendly and remembered us and treated us well with the occasional freebie. The parking can be challenging as there are only a few free spaces close by and they are often all taken by shoppers but on street parking can be found for free not too far away.

Ordered three main courses for two people, but felt like we had three large appetizers. Prices are higher than normal for casual Chinese food. Appetizers starting around 6-7 pound! The tofu had smooth orange sauce, not at all gooey like you would sometimes see. The shrimp Szechuan had a really good sauce, but again not enough food on my plate. And having to pay 3 pounds for plain rice is not cool. The Singapore noodles had a nice smoked flavor. Top tasty noodles actually. I'm used to getting a mountain of noodles. Not here. However I would not say that the interior decor is modern or very out dated that it need renovation. It was more of the feeling "I know I'm in a Chinese restaurant" Dim Sum is ordered by marking on a menu sheet and then handed to a staff. I am not sure if there is an English version as ours where in Chinese. I'm sure staff happy to translate if there is not. The quality dim sum is comparable or even better than many places in London Chinatown. They even have Yolk bun which is not found in many places in London. This is a steamed bun that is smiliar to custard bun but is has a creamy runny salty egg yolk center which has a slightly sandy texture. This bun is best enjoyed hot so when it arrived make sure you eat it first. The mini egg tarts is made well and on a busy weekend they will run out. Once gone they are gone! I love the congee (savoury Chinese rice pudding) because they are huge portion compare to most places and it come served with Chineses savoury doughnuts. But the prices does reflect the size of the portion. There is a lunch rice and noodle menu. On there is a handmade cuttlefish ball noodle. You won't get this anywhere else so worth trying if you ever visit Go Sing.

In the end, we decided to take them up on it, on the night of the final of the World Cup. When we walked in and asked for the Chinese menu, we were initially told that there is no such thing (mind you, we were speaking in Mandarin, but are Caucasians), but after insisting it miraculously appeared. The waiter was clearly not happy serving us from this "secret" menu, but my cousin knows the owner, and when he came around, all went more smoothly. Our food came in due course, and was all surprisingly good. In fact, the people at the neighbouring table, who were ordering from the English-language menu, even asked what our dishes were, since they did not appear to be from their menu, and they looked infinitely better than the slop they were served. When we left, we took the Chinese menu back to our flat and I translated it into English for the owners to use with future guests who want to try some authentic Chinese dishes. We'll see if they follow up with that! The comments about the atmosphere are spot-on, by the way. The management clearly does not waste any money on installing an appealing décor.

The pork fried dumplings were a little bland on their own and the ginger dipping sauce they provided was overwhelming, so again I used a little Mongolian sauce.
