Pho was a cute spot but that's all it was to me. The staff were friendly but not very knowledgeable about the food itself. For appetizers, we ordered the morning glory and both the crispy spring and summer rolls, with the nuoc cham and peanut sauce. The morning glory was good, but a little weak on the stir fried sauce, and the sauce for the rolls were also not really amazing either. However, their chili oil was actually pretty good. For mains, I got the Pho Tai (Steak) and my sister got the Spicy Chicken Pho. I tried the Spicy Chicken, and it tasted like somebody just put a bunch of chili oil in their chicken pho and wasn't as spicy as we hoped for, but the Pho Tai was alright. I'm a big believer that a good pho place can be judged based on their broth first and noodles second. So for their broth, it was kind of cloudy, and not as hearty as pho normally is for me. I thought the choice of noodle was a bit odd as well since I'm used to vermicelli noodles instead of rice noodles in the shape of fettuccine, so I wasn't a fan of that. i'm vietnamese, so i've had my fair share of authentic pho. this place's pho was pretty good!! my family and i were pleasantly surprised. we ordered the chicken, brisket, and beef combo pho. my mom, who knows how to cook pho from scratch, complimented the homemade meatballs that were in the beef combo pho. the broth tastes pretty authentic as well, and they used the good pho noodles (yes, there are bad and good ones!). the only reason i couldn't rate it five stars was due to the service. they were very nice, but the pho took a little but of time to come out. not a huge problem though, since the ambiance to just chat and spend time is very homey and cute! read more

The Pho here is amazing. The broth was very flavorful, I got the Pho House special. They use wide rice noodles vs the traditional rice noodles and it has less sodium. I will admit customer service is not the greatest, it's Asian and in London... speaks volumes.. British people are generally rude, and then you have Asian on top of that... so it's what you can expect. You have to wave them down for everything. But if you want good Vietnamese food and are tired of fish and chips, this is a good spot. The restaurant has limited seating and there are tons of people constantly waiting on a table. read more

Awful. Just awful. Please go elsewhere. Went here for dinner before my flight due to the glowing reviews here. We figured we couldn't go wrong with all the 5 star ratings. Unfortunately, the service we received fell well below expectations. Not only were we seated after people who came after us, but I had to get up from my seat several times to ask for service. We eventually had someone come to our table after I had to explain that we had a flight to catch and could not wait another 20 minutes to submit our order (or event get a glass of water) and was rudely dismissed and asked to sit down. We finally got someone to take our order and get us glasses of water after 25 minutes of waiting. The waiter assured that we would get our orders promptly. Well, that again was not the case. Those who submitted their orders after us received their meals first. They also provided 1/2 of our dishes with me again having to hail someone and ask where my meal was until the waiter told me they messed it up and had to remake it... Would they have told me this had I not asked where it was? Also the restroom is horrid. Only 1/2 was functional and still awful... My goodness. After all of that, they had the gall to charge an optional 12.5% service charge on our bill. If you're looking for quality food, a good atmosphere, and quality service to match, then please go elsewhere. read more

Was going to give Pho a one star rating after waiting over 30 minutes for any food (it's a fast food type restaurant on the outskirts of Covent Garden). In addition, waitress was extraordinarily inattentive. However, manager came over and offered complimentary drinks due to the long wait. Food finally came and was pretty good. Would have given it a three star rating overall, but appreciated the managers acknowledgement that they were falling short on their service which goes a long way with me. If no stars could be given, that would be my review. My mom, sister and are vising London on vacation. It's a bank holiday and most places are closed. We are Vietnamese and wanted to try out the Vietnamese cuisine offered in London. PROS: - It was the only Vietnamese place open at 8 pm on a holiday. CONS: - Waitress was extremely rude. Brought our pho to the table, stared at us and said "steak". Confused, as we all ordered a variety of beef pho, we said "excuse me". "STEEAAK" was the response. She then proceeded to get testy with us and try to explain to us, including my 72 year old mom who is clearly Vietnamese (who was speaking to us in Vietnamese when the waitress arrived), how to eat pho. Guess we should have expected that type of treatment as none of the staff were Asian. - Whatever they served us was not pho and was not Vietnamese. Pho should have a distinct fragrance of star anise, cloves, cinnamon, etc. The "pho" we were served resembled instant broth and had no flavor or fragrance. The beef slices (which should have been finely sliced) were thick, roughly cut, chewy tail ends of some unknown part of the cow. - The bo vien in the "pho" was disgustingly mashed up meat, rolled into a ball, and plunked into the broth. - The egg rolls were....I'm not even sure how to describe them. Greasy fried frozen sticks of "pork"? OVERALL: Disappointed with the food and service and saddened that people are deceived into thinking that this is what Vietnamese food tastes like. read more

I have been to this restaurant several times over the years pre-pandemic, and it was good. But a post-pandemic visit on evening of 11 May, 2023 has made me swear NEVER to visit this place again. I went to get some takeout but the woman with an Eastern European (?) accent who was taking my order was so rude and snippy that I eventually walked out. I ordered chicken pho but as I am on a keto diet I asked if they could give me more vegetables instead of noodles. She said they don't do that and I would have to order vegetables separately. OK I was prepared to go along with that and asked for lotus stems (which is on the menu). She rudely said we don't have that; then I asked for morning glory (also on the menu) and she said they don't do that for take out. My wife asked for the Vietnamese pancake and the woman said they don't do that either even though it's on the menu. She assumed we knew that Pho had several restaurants around town and I should know that the Covent Garden branch doesn't do pancakes. So I asked if there was another branch nearby. She said it was in Wardour Street about 15 minutes away and implied in her unpleasant manner that maybe I should go there. But actually at this point her obnoxious and unhelpful attitude were so off-putting that my wife and I gave up and walked out. On my way out I told her she was very unhelpful and she just turned away as if I did not matter (which on the basis of her attitude was probably her wish). I am not sure who is the manager of this restaurant (on Long Acre) but I would be ashamed to have staff like this, who treat customers with total disrespect (is it because I am not white like her?) and offer no help at all to someone who wants to spend money at her establishment. I would now definitely avoid this Pho restaurant place (and I visit London about four times a year). By the way if anyone is in Paris and wants a bowl of pho, I highly recommend Pho Passion, rue de la Roquette, in Bastille district. They gave me substitute vegetables for noodles without extra charge and with no fuss. And it was tasty and good value too! Much better than this dump. read more

With an extensive menu ranging from dumplings to stir fry to pho, Pho can satisfy any guest. I really enjoy the Chicken Breast Pho with 3 mushrooms. Admittedly the service is a little slow from time to time, but the ambiance of the restaurant makes the wait enjoyable. The scene is warm and dimly lit with dark wood tables and a full bar. It's fine for a casual first date (however it feels rather embarrassing to slurp down noodles in front of a new love interest) or for lunch with friends. I will say this, and take it with a grain of salt: after eating here with a group of 4 people for lunch, we all return to work together and our stomachs were GROWLING at each other from across the office for hours. But, only 2 out of the 4 of us actually experienced stomach pains (mine lasted for two days). Either way, I would argue the pain is worth it, simply because I always love a big bowl of pho -- and this place delivers that! read more

Ok my usual 3xS pho review: Space: not a hole in the wall but set up with a certain hip vibe. Clean and friendly staff. Would be great to have AC since it was a very warm night. Soup base: beef - very good; chicken - also very good Starters: had the Vietnamese crepe. Great quantity of stuffing but a bit salty. Still yummy. BIG surprise: a kids menu! Pho nam rom aka fungi pho (Enoki, shiitake & button mushrooms), normal price £7.95 was OK but the soup was not thick enough. The soup was watery and thin and lacking the aroma of spices. Nevertheless £5 was worth my first Pho's pho. Nem hai san (large crispy spring roll of tiger prawn, crab & pork) with dipping sauce £4.00 was good, worth trying. The service was excellent. My love and craving for pho are the only two things keeping me coming back to Pho. Every time, I'm disappointed, unfortunately. The portions are generous, but the actual ingredients aren't as fresh as they could be. I have to pick out a few herbs here and there that aren't good to put in the soup, and the noodles aren't soft or chewy. They taste like they've been packaged for a while and pulled out into broth. You're much better going to one of the places along Pho Mile in east London. If you're having a craving for pho, it's definitely worth a trek! read more

I love it here- only just reading other reviews now and I'm really surprised. The staff are really friendly and laid back, and service is fast. I don't think it's possible to leave hungry, but the flavours are light and delicious so I haven't ever felt too full in a bad way!! (Haven't been able to finish a bowl of pho yet though..) Great AC too.... don't know if that's a new development, but was definitely nice and cool inside while other places in town were sweltering in 33° heat or whatever it was today. I do get what people say about the broth, which seemed to have less flavour than other pho, but i love it- you can taste the vegetables, and can add fresh chillis and extra herbs to taste. read more

Came in and sat down communal style at one of the long tables for 8. No where to put our bags so on the ground they went. Had a bubble tea with me and was told i wasn't allowed to have it in the restaurant with no follow up or comment as to what can be done with it. I just put it under my foot until after lunch. So with a meeting taking me through lunchtime, I knew I didn't have a lot of options near work. So I figured, I'd try out Ubereats for the first time. Being a long time Pho fan, I thought I'd use that as the basis for the first attempt at using the service. I didn't opt for the soup, but instead went for a noodle dish for a change. Ordered online using the app, which was pretty simple. Initial estimate of delivery time got dragged out a bit, but then had the fun of watching the bicycle courier dot on a map as it came down from Covent Garden towards the St James Park area. Courier was perfectly polite when it arrived, and it came well packaged and hot. Very happy with the service. Food itself was good, and I like that the sauce came in a separate container which kept the food fresh and then I could add as much or as little as I liked (I added it all!). The chicken in the noodles was well cooked, but still moist and the noodles were very flavourful. I ordered extra pak choi, and that was particularly good. Would happily order from again, although I do feel guilty that I got someone to cycle all the way from Covent Garden! read more

This review is for a take away beef pho. The broth was very good. But I only got a little serving of noodles and a more hearty serving of dry beef. So it was really more like beef soup with a suggestion of noodles. Not sure if this only happens for take away pho, but was a bit disappointed in the amount of noodles I got for my pho. Best vegetarian pho ever. My wife was sick and only wanted soup so we ate takeaway three nights in a row. The veggie pho with tofu and mushrooms and added park choi was so good.
