This is the worst experience I have ever had with a Doctor. She is always a minimum of 45 minutes late. I have been calling up to 3 times a week trying to get help with a medication that my insurance was denying, had to cancel 2 follow ups because there is nothing to follow up on. Sometimes i would receive a text back but they don't reply to my replies. I switched to emailing them and still barely got a response. Its now almost July and they told me I need to do new labs because mine are from February... They seem to just want to collect your co pay for appointments and then ignore you. Scammers! read more

Dr. Chaychi is a very good endocrinologist. She was great about adjusting medications and reviewing lab tests with me very thoroughly. However, like other patients have stated, this practice is intolerable when it comes to running behind. One morning I was scheduled for the first appointment of the day. I waited for an hour and ten minutes before I approached the front desk. They promised they would take me "right back." Another thirty minutes and I told them I was leaving for work. The front desk said they would charge me a no-show fee. I told them I would send them an invoice for my hourly rate for the time I waited and was not working. I then informed them I would not be returning to the practice. If I'm already paying for insurance and paying my doctor, I shouldn't also have to lose money by having to wait for an 1 hour and 40 minutes to see the doctor. read more

I love Dr. Chayhi, she ordered detailed blood tests, step by step I'll get there to find out whats wrong with my hormone, diabetes, if producing too much hormones, etc. It just need to be patience waiting in room for almost 30 minutes, she is very busy doctor. However, she is very knowledge and worth to see her, easy to talk with her also. Office staffs very nice, easy to communicate and work with, they understand things easy and helpful. read more

She is my mom's endocrinologist and my mother trusts and loves her. I take my mom to every visit. This physician is very busy and is running around and sees everyone. She is knowledgeable and knows her stuff. She has a kind bedside manner and really is patient focused. You are in good hands with her and she is advanced doing clinical research and trials. The only con is that this office is always busy and you wait for appointments, but when you are there she spends the time with you. However, I do feel rushed only bc she is such a dynamic personality that she is a fast type of person- I am like that as well so I understand, except at Dr visits lol I like it a bit slower paced. I told my mom since Dr. Chaychi is a bit far for her and her primary is just down the street that we can just have one doctor take care of everything! She absolutely refuses bc she loves Dr. Chaychi and trusts her care! So I make that extra trek for her as long as she is happy with her- and that is saying a lot lol bc my mom is hard to please and critical of most people, so that in itself says a lot about Dr. Chaychi! We love her staff as well as they are very kind! Only thing is it is hard to get through on the phone! read more

I would not recommend this practice for multiple different reasons . The office is EXTREMELY disorganized- it's very hard to get your medication refilled on time , lab orders tend to be delayed . I was told by the office staff that the lab orders would be faxed but when I actually did go to the lab the next day, there were no orders faxed. I tried calling the office but of course no one picks up the calls. With respect to appointments - the wait time is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable . I have ALWAYS had to wait for AT LEAST 45 mins for my appointment - I have tried both virtual and in person - doesn't matter , they are always running behind .During virtual appointments , when super delayed the office staff do not even have the courtesy to call and let you know that Dr. chaychi is running behind - they always say she will be with you " soon " ( whatever that means ). They rarely answer phone calls and mail box is full most of the times. During pregnancy, needed adjustment with my thyroid meds and to be able to get to do that via phone was so so so hard . I had to call multiple times and this made it extremely stressful . I have actually just driven to the office to get stuff done cos they don't accept phone calls or just don't follow up . And a few months ago, I received a call saying Dr. chaychi would like to see me that same week as my blood sugar is high and it's concerning . I told this person multiple times you have the wrong information , I can see my results on the app- my A1C is within normal limits . But she did not give up and repeatedly said that I have to make an appointment . It took almost 4 calls to sort this out . I wish I had something better to say . I was referred to Dr. Chaychi to gain some insight about me and to help manage my weight .I wish I had better things to say about Dr. Chaychi. But her appointments left me incredibly frustrated and disappointed. First of all, she's seemingly always late. I've had several appointments with her across various times of the year, she was late each time, often having me wait for over 30 minutes. For my intake appointment, she had me wait in the lobby for a half hour and had me wait another forty minutes in the patient room. Over an hour of my time was wasted just waiting for her! Secondly, her appointments are incredibly brief. My intake appointment was just under ten minutes, and that's the most I ever saw of her! I had to wait over an hour just for that?! She rushes through the entire appointment and doesn't really explain anything, even when I ask her for more details. Like she tried to put me on weight loss medication at one point and didn't justify why it was necessary before rushing off to her next appointment. When I asked my PCP if she thought I needed to be on the medication, she told me that she didn't see any reason why I needed to be, as I was just slightly overweight. Third, I really can't get over how disorganized her office is. Chaychi ordered a lab for me once and the lab order ended up being incomplete, so I had to redo my blood test. Bills often also come several months after the appointment, and bill notifications keep coming even after I paid it. I tried to get them to stop sending the mail notifications by calling them, and nobody picked up. I had to call multiple times at different times in the day before they finally picked up. Thankfully they sorted the billing out so I didn't have to deal with any more junk mail from Chaychi's office. The entire experience with Dr. Chaychi's office was just incredibly frustrating. I'm also incredibly disappointed because I paid her quite a bit of money, yet I feel she has not made any improvement to my health. read more

Dr. Leila Chaychi is incredible. Knowledgeable, sensitive, informative... I immediately felt at ease - and felt confident in my receiving expert medical care. Not only has she taken great care of my health, but also she is lovely to speak with at every appointment. It's rare to find a doctor that combines such personal touches and care for a patient as a person with outstanding quality of medical care. Staff was great, too. I can't say enough great things about Dr Chaychi. I first met her working with a critical patient - she was knowledgeable, kind and worked great with him, staff and family to save him and get him well. Years ago when I was having problems with my old endo I went to her for a second opinion. She listened to me, put me on the right track and I have been very happy with my care for my complex case with her. She uses a scribe service so she doesn't bury her face in a computer the way some others do so she can better listen and answers thoroughly. I have referred many to her and they are all very happy with her care though sometimes it can be hard to get a new appt- but it's not as bad as many other specialists in the area! As a nurse I am not an easy patient but after today's appt being such a relief - so many questions answered, I had to write! read more

If you can handle the interminably long waits in her waiting room (45 minutes to one hour after your appointment time) and another 20 minutes in the exam room it is probably fine. She is competent but it left a bad taste in my mouth having to wait so long after my scheduled time and I don't seem to be an outlier. read more

There are several issues with this practice. One is that Dr. Chaychi is always running behind and rushes through appointments. She doesn't take time to connect with the patient and ask questions, she's usually looking at another screen and telling her assistant what to put in notes. She regularly forget who you are, your history, and is clearly just skimming results when she gets on the phone with you. That brings me to the technology problems - they send everything via snail mail. You have to wait for lab orders, when most practices just call in orders to the lab and you can go right away. What's worse is that Dr. Chaychi calls you on Facetime for your appointment, which is not HIPPA compliant. When she's done with the appt she barely says goodbye and starts walking to her staff, with the video on. You watch choppy video of the cieling as she walks, and then she puts the phone on the desk, presumably for her staff to close out (attached photo of being left on table). Someone comes on after a few minutes and orders testing/meds. Overall, this practice feels unprofessional and it's hard to get what feels like individualized care. read more

Dr. Chaychi could be the best doctor in the world but the administration challenges have made her impossible to work with and for me to trust her with my health. Pros: (1) Quick appointment availability. You can book her typically within 1-2 weeks vs. the 1-3 month wait with other endocrinologists in the bay. (2) Her office gave you a visit summary detailing diagnosis made and next-step to do, which I find helpful. Cons: (1) The office shows NO respect for patients' time (e.g. significant wait times & cancelled appointment with no explanation). Across three visits, I experienced a 20-minute wait on the first visit, one-hour waits on the subsequent in-person visits, and an hour on a virtual visit where she eventually didn't show up. I also receive no explanation & follow-ups on the third appointment. (2) Limited Patient Care time: While Dr. Chaychi provides adequate diagnoses and will answer questions during the visit, the brevity of the sessions (5 to 7 minutes) leaves me feeling rushed and unsure about some medical concepts. I don't think all of my lab results were explained to me clearly (e.g. she has ordered comprehensive metabolism panels test which is super expensive and we had literally never talked about). It's challenging to assess whether she is efficient or simply aiming to move through patients quickly. (3) Office Support Challenges: Over two months of visits, my pharmacy and lab have not yet received any prescriptions from her practice. I had to rely on prescription medication from my previous PCP and lab order printouts provided during office visits. How difficult is it to get those details right? read more

Lab orders forgotten to be sent, voicemails unanswered for more than 24hrs (if their inbox isn't full), forgotten pharmacy authorizations, mistakes between in-person and online appointments ++ the almost guarantee that your appointment will not be on time. I've been a patient of Dr Chaychi for the last 5 years (since my diagnosis) and could not be happier! She has a huge heart. I tend research many things on my own ahead of visits and then typically have a lot of questions when trying to understand how various medications (new types of insulin), technology (CGM, pumps), or food/exercise can get me in tighter control of my condition. Dr Chaychi is very patient and generous with her time - something that is not common in our healthcare system these days. Based on one of these discussions, we ended up adjusting my insulin (to Fiasp) and saw my A1C improve a half point. Through COVID, I've been doing a lot of the visits virtually. The office's flexibility has been a great help. In either case. If you are looking for an endocrinologist that really cares, you'll do well here. read more

I have been her patient for over two years and couldn't be happier, and am grateful to Dr. Hoff who referred Dr. Chaychi to me! Worst Dr. EVER. I'm pushing 70 and never fired anyone in my life, until now. You should not have to wait 7 weeks for the results of a biopsy, and find out only when you call them. She also forgot to wear a mask during the procedure. Dr. Chaychi's office schedules 2 patients for each appointment time slot, meaning if you don't beat your appointment competition to the office, you need to wait for the next slot, which puts all the other patients behind as well. It's very difficult to reach the office by phone; my call was only ever answered on a Friday when the office is not open for business. For the 2 times I left a message and my call was returned, the person who called spoke with the other staff members in the office for more time than she spoke with me during the call. I have had difficulty with receiving the proper prescriptions from Dr. Chaychi - 3 times I have needed to contact the office to correct the prescription submitted to Walgreens. In addition to Walgreens attempting to contact the office without success, Due to the difficulty in reaching the office it took 2 months after my first appointment with her to straighten out my prescriptions, which does not work for someone who depends on daily insulin. I was very fortunate to have some in reserve. I would recommend choosing a different endocrinologist. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Chaychi for the past 5 years when I requested a specialist for my thyroid. Was on the same dose of medicine for 15 years with no changes. As soon as I saw Dr. Chaycia she made immediate changes to my medicine. She also has done ultrasounds and a biopsy because my previous doctors just kept to the same old program. Dr. Chaycia is a very knowledgeable, kind and considerate person and I am so lucky I have found her. I have been going to Dr Chaychi for almost 4 years. The Dr has taught me so much about my metabolism, which you wouldn't ordinarily learn from a PCP. The Dr ensures that we test everything as a preventative measure. I believe that I am more aware of how to take better care of myself and am healthier in general, in the care of Dr. Chaychi. The Dr takes her time with you and is sympathetic to your needs. The Dr is also a wealth of information, so I would highly recommend going for a visit. 5 STARS!
