The principal is amazing, the staff is great and the PTO puts together great events. My son and I loved our Mother & Son Bowling night, and my daughter simply loves getting all dressed up and going to the Daddy Daughter Dance with her father. They are very welcoming, yet also keep the building secure. There's a lunchroom/cafeteria, where they also serve hot lunch each day (this is something I didn't have when I attended schools -- at least not until I reached high school). It's reasonably priced (I think it's $2.50 for the student meal) and it gives the kids a few different options to choose from each day. They even serve breakfast in the morning as well! The grounds always look nice, and the building is always clean. This shouldn't be a surprise because even my kids know the janitors. So their presence within the school is well noticed.

The teachers helped make my transition into the school go as smoothly as possible. Even though I was at Kingswood for a short period of time I made very strong friendships. If you're child has special needs I suggest hiring an Education Advocate to help you because the school isn't proactive in helping these challenged students. My daughter has dyslexia and they did not advocate assistance even after we paid to have a psychological education profile done by an outside educational psychologist. Unless your kid is a mess in school, they do little to help. Getting her first 504 was a battle because she had "good grades"

Classes began in September 1952, with first- and second-graders attend ingold Schaumburg Center School at Schaumburg and Roselle roads; third- and fourth-graders attending Sunderlage School on Higgins Road; fifth- through seventh-graders using an Elk Grove School District facility on a tuition basis, and eighth-graders attending a Palatine District 15 school on a tuition basis. In December 1952, a special election gave the Board of Education approval to purchase and construct a school site for District 54. Schaumburg School (now the Early Learning Center) opened Jan. 10, 1954, with three teachers teaching 87 students in first through eighth grade.
