They work tirelessly to support and guide them in order to help them gain meaningful knowledge at their own pace. In short, this school is a hidden gem tucked away in North Aurora road and all parents who want their children to experience authentic Montessori method of learning in a school, should definitely visit and explore this school. I only wish their organization had a prominent website that was solely dedicated to the school and shared their curriculum, vision and mission. We get weekly update emails from Ms. Belinda, photos and occasionally videos of our daughter doing her work, a folder of her work for her to show off to us every Friday, and absolutely no homework. The school also has early drop off and late pickup which is perfect with our work schedules. I wish I could have gone to this school as a kid and I am so grateful that it is here for my daughter.

Once middle school starts, the environment shift's drastically. I have also learned most teachers here aren't qualified. Parkview teaches their own perspective of what a Christian should be, and quite frankly, that is very unprofessional. The lower campus is growing mold, the upper campus sells expired sodas, chips, and other treats. Last year was parkviews downfall after they hired a principle by the name of Kerri mccastland. The principle only showed up about 5 times a month, if that. The days she would show up, she would yell at students at a voice not even a mother could scream at her child with, and the way she would try and "resolve" problems was very inappropriate for a principal. She would bring the student into the office and talk to them in a tone so unprofessional, it was as if the student was talking to their peers. At the end of the discussion, there was no discipline, it was as if she just wanted to yell at them with the student getting no point across, just getting yelled at. When students tried reporting something, instead of resolving it, it would be a one sided argument. They're was a front desk employee named Mary Ellen West, she was always gossiping with the principle, locked in the office, and often times students would sit in the lobby, waiting for them to finish gossiping. We've been to several other Montessori schools and we loved the teachers, there were some things that weren't pure Montessori, where this school is. I describe it as a Montessori home school on a farm. The benefit of the multi-age classroom really shows, he wanted to do work the older kids were doing so, my 6-year old is writing his name and date in cursive, as well as the date in Roman numerals, he has been motivated to read (which had been a struggle before) and is doing "math timings" with addition and subtraction daily. I love that they go on a field trip every Friday and I truly appreciate the parent involvement. We toured Carmel in the summer of 2019 (precovid) as well as several other elementary Montessori schools and we are so grateful he could go here this past year (and will continue for years) and have a more than normal year. The music program is excellent in all areas, choir, orchestra and band... the athletic opportunities are strong (although if you are a casual player, you may not make Varsity or JV)... the clubs can sometimes fill up too much and they have to have try-outs.
