Pretending to be Lemongrass Chicken...cause there was barely any taste of lemongrass.

The food is horrible. Just look at our pictures and you'll see. Chicken was salty and rice undercooked. Vegetables were missing in action. For $14 this is not acceptable.

I ordered ahead of time via website and picked it up. I arrived right before they were closing up for the night. They offered and gave me extra egg rolls from the newly fried up batch they made for me. The food was really good and I would definitely return to try more items. I love their really sweet and nice energy they gave me in small talks. Customer service is excellent! I followed their Instagram page to be able to see when they return back to SJ flea market location.

Solid meat and rice. The egg rolls were nice and crispy. For the price, you get a good amount of food compared to other food trucks. They also get the food out quicker than other trucks as well.

Can't say anything with regard to authenticity as I have limited exposure to Cambodian food, but I'm pretty sure the beef slices in lemongrass beef shouldn't be pink in the center (as you'd get with a medium steak.) The lemongrass sauce was decent and flavorful, but the meat had that weird half cooked texture. The portion was pretty much the standard portion as seen in the picture on the side of the truck, plus another full load of beef! Uhhh, the spring rolls... Pretty good deal, 6 giant spring rolls for $7.50, but they were lukewarm, greasy and had zero crunch. The filling was tasteless and required the much needed spraying of that sweet and sour sauce. They were more than generous in plating but should probably focus more on the quality of the food.

Got to try this place when they came to the flea market and I ordered the beef plate. I didn't get any of the carrot salad thing like in the pics and got just salad instead which was fine. It comes with a lemon grass sauce which I felt it tasted a little off but that's probably Just the lemon grass. The meat and rice and portions were a good amount. Pretty simple so if you are looking just for meat and some rice this is a place to go. They were also fast and friendly service !

I lived in Cambodia for 6 years and I've never had Loc Lac that tasted traditional until I tried Lemongrass Lane. They season the beef perfectly!! You can add a spring roll for $1. They're yummy and crispy. Highly recommend to anyone missing Cambodian food. Their website is super easy to use & they are very friendly!

Picked up this bomb sandwich now that I work out this way... The meat is super juicy and tender and the bread is very soft. The size is decent but I'm a big man I could had a little more but still a great sandwich. I also had the egg rolls, which were very good as well. Definitely a spot I will be back at

Step up your game. I wouldn't order from here again. Long line to get disappointed. Maybe make things before hand. Just saying today was a bust.

Lemongrass Lane catered my kids birthday party! It was our first time using a food truck and it was the best! They worked with me to create a kids menu- chicken tenders and fries and all the adult food. Communication was easy and smooth, setup and service was great! The food was delicious and everyone at the party agreed! These ladies were so great. I highly recommend you hire them for your event.

The portions are serious, the chicken is juicy, and the breading has a great crunch. What really sets them apart for me is the spice. I've had levels 3, 4, and 5, and they're not simply the same seasoning with progressively more heat. Each level actually has a different pepper profile and flavor. Level 3 brings cayenne and Thai chili, level 4 moves into Thai chili and habanero, and level 5 adds habanero and ghost pepper. You can taste the difference, not just feel more burn. The seasoned fries are great too and they definitely don't skimp on the portions. It is a little pricey for a chicken sandwich and fries, but when you see the size and quality of what you're getting, I think it's worth it. Scratch is easily one of my favorite hot chicken spots.

We ordered the Texas chicken sandwich and chicken strips. Portions were generous, and the sandwich was super tasty. The strips were fresh and flavorful, but be careful with the spice levels! We ordered level 1 and it was flaming hot. Even level 0 has a kick, so I'd recommend going one level lower than you normally would. The curly fries were also great. Overall, a solid 4/5. The only star off was for the spice-level calibration. Great food and portions, and we'll definitely be back!

It was pretty calm during the day and didn't seem to get a crazy amount of foot traffic, which I actually enjoyed because we were able to sit down, relax, eat, and enjoy the atmosphere without it feeling crowded. Between our food and drinks we spent around $46, so I would say it's moderately pricey, but everything we had was good. I had a birria taco from Mi Lindo Apatzingán, my husband got four tacos, and we also got rice and beans that we really enjoyed. Our food came out pretty quickly, definitely in less than 10 minutes. We also got sour apple drinks from Las Cherry's. The drinks took a little longer, over 10 minutes, but there was only one girl working at the time, so it was completely understandable. The drinks were refreshing and I definitely want to come back and try more of what Las Cherry's has to offer. I really like the whole concept here because there are so many different food trucks in one place. There's plenty of covered outdoor seating, TVs to watch while you eat, and colorful decorations that make it a fun but still calm and chill place to hang out. Even with some of the trucks being closed, there were still plenty of options. I would definitely come back, especially to try more from Las Cherry's and the potato food truck that caught my eye!

Whenever I'd hear about a food truck back in the day, the first thing that would come to mind is prepackaged food. However, those days are long gone! At this particular location, the trucks only come out on Friday night, with 9-11 different trucks to choose from. They also provide live music and fun games for the family. They do provide 5 gallon buckets that are used for seats, and a couple of planks/boards that can be used as tables while you are scarfing down your food. I finally decided to give it a try after hearing about the restaurant from food reviewer Dave fiore text. As someone who absolutely loves tacos and is always on the hunt for great local taco spots, I was excited to see how this place compared to some of my favorites. I ordered four different tacos, and overall, they were pretty good. They weren't bad by any means, but they also didn't quite blow me away. The meat was cooked well, the tortillas were fresh, and the tacos had good flavor. The salsa was decent too, although I personally prefer something with a little more kick. Everyone has different tastes, so this is just my opinion. One thing I really appreciated was how clean and organized the restaurant was. You can tell they take pride in keeping the dining area nice and welcoming. The staff was friendly, and my food came out quickly. It's always a good sign when a restaurant pays attention to both cleanliness and customer service. I've eaten at a lot of taco places throughout the Bay Area, so I naturally compare every new place to some of my favorites. While El Halal Mexican Restaurant didn't make the top of my list, I still had a good experience and I'm glad I finally gave it a shot. Not every restaurant has to be your favorite to be worth visiting. I also like supporting family-owned businesses because I know how much hard work goes into running a local restaurant. They deserve credit for creating a clean, welcoming place and serving quality food. Will I come back? Maybe. If I do, I'd probably try something different on the menu instead of the tacos. Sometimes a restaurant's best dish isn't the first thing you order, and I'd be interested in seeing what else they have to offer. Overall, I'd give El Halal Mexican Restaurant a solid 4 out of 5 stars. It was a good experience, I'm happy I finally got to try it, and if you're in the Willow Glen area, it's worth stopping by and deciding for yourself.
