Can't say anything with regard to authenticity as I have limited exposure to Cambodian food, but I'm pretty sure the beef slices in lemongrass beef shouldn't be pink in the center (as you'd get with a medium steak.) The lemongrass sauce was decent and flavorful, but the meat had that weird half cooked texture. The portion was pretty much the standard portion as seen in the picture on the side of the truck, plus another full load of beef! Uhhh, the spring rolls... Pretty good deal, 6 giant spring rolls for $7.50, but they were lukewarm, greasy and had zero crunch. The filling was tasteless and required the much needed spraying of that sweet and sour sauce. Got to try this place when they came to the flea market and I ordered the beef plate. I didn't get any of the carrot salad thing like in the pics and got just salad instead which was fine. The Lemongrass Lane food truck was in front of my hotel when I got there after a long day of training. Because I had a lot of work to do, I figured I would just grab something quick from the food truck and it would be another mediocre meal on the road. I ordered the beef and rice, and a chicken spring roll. First off, the two ladies who were working the truck were absolutely adorable. They were very sweet, and I chatted with the one who took my order for the three minutes or so that it took to prepare my meal. Big plus for actually engaging with customers! Now, imagine my surprise when the meal that came out was not just some little appetizer-sized meal. It was huge! The beef was cooked perfectly. It was moist and tender, not overdone and tough. The beef was not overly spiced, so I got a perfect experience of the savory meat. The egg roll was nice and crispy, and absolutely delicious. If you have any concerns about Cambodian food, you can forget them. It's similar to other southeast Asian foods. It had a nice serving of rice, and was served in a bed of lettuce. It was not super spicy at all - I added Sriracha because I like spicy food. My spice averse kids would have no problems with this food. When I stopped by on the way out of the lobby to go to my room in another building, I told the lady in the truck how much I enjoyed it. She just beamed. It was so cute! I ordered their beef sandwich and it changed my life. The bread was toasty and had this magical orange sauce on it. The beef was juicy and perfectly cooked. I came back to order the beef plate and ask for more of the magic sauce. They gave me both a lemongrass sauce and an orange mayonaise sauce. Both were mindblowing. The lemongrass sauce was even better than the orange sauce -- it's an oil base with 5 herbs in it. To my surprise there was a truck event going on and right next to the taco truck was Lemongrass Lane Food truck. Cambodian food! I was so surprised because I've never seen a Cambodian food truck. Even though I bought tacos I left it with my boyfriend on the bench and grabbed some lemon grass chicken and beef sticks I was so happy because it tasted just like my moms cooking. I stood in the long time for than 30 mins only to find out the food that I wanted had been sold out. They should have put up a notice or something as soon as they realized that. After ordering a tofu rice plate and a stir beef rice plate, I waited for another 30 mins to get my orders...The tofu was so dry and the beef was lukewarm. It didn't seem that they made the food upon order. I was so excited to try a Cambodian food truck. Especially in the Bay Area which is rare to find. However, after ordering my food and trying it, I...I honestly did not like it. The beef was flavorless and very chewy. The pickled vegetables were not crunchy or fresh tasting. My plate was very sloppy, and the rice wasn't...it wasn't fresh. The rice taste like it had sat in the pot for half the day or wasn't cooked all the way, like a mixture. I don't think I'd be giving this a second try, for 2 beef sticks and rice it was approximately $10, but for that price I really wished it was something to brag about. The 2 stars are for them being very friendly and nice. It pains me to have to write a bad review, but I've had Cambodian food and this...this isn't close to the flavor of good Authentic Cambodian Food... flavor just isn't there. I tried this place today in Pleasanton, it's a part of Food Truck Mafia. I had the curry chicken dish, and it was pretty terrible. It was $13+ and came with an egg roll which was alright. But the entree itself was cold and extremely bland. The chicken was moist but the sauce it came with was so watery and honestly tasted like plain unseasoned chicken. I was looking forward to some new flavors by trying Cambodian food for the first time, but this food truck is awful.
