When I heard there was a halal taqueria, I had to check it out! I drove from Sacramento to give it a try, and it definitely didn't disappoint. The tacos were amazing, perfectly seasoned and packed with flavor. The rice and beans were just as delicious. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere was great, with both indoor and outdoor seating available. I can't wait to come back!

The food was average my main complaint was the barbacoa. It was highly recommended but if i can be honest it was so tasteless it had no real flavor that gave it that wow factor. I recommend maybe the nachos but the barbacoa is overrated. The tacos are also dry & overrated. Not trying to be a harsh but thats just my honest opinion. Overall its overpriced and not worth the hype.

Not sure if it's because we came on a Tuesday or what but the place was pretty empty and service was so off...they kept bringing us the wrong order (even though we had our number at our table). And they walked our tacos all the way outside and back inside before we had to go over like hey those are ours and it was the same girl who took our order. The $2 taco Tuesday is a great deal! Next time I would ask for no pineapple (personal opinion) it just over powered the chicken.

Parking can be challenging if you try to find close by on the street (we were lucky and we got it right outside) though there happens to be a big parking lot pretty close that can address this easy. Absolutely finger-licking good food paired with some of the warmest hospitality you'll find. The hosts were welcoming, and genuinely friendly, making us feel right at home. We had a lot of questions and they were incredibly patient and happy to walk us through everything, which made the experience even better. The place itself is nice and cozy, with a comfortable vibe that's perfect whether you're grabbing a quick bite or sitting down to enjoy a full meal. Now let's talk about the food because wow. Everything we ordered was packed with flavor and clearly made with care: Birria Plate: rich, deeply flavorful, and cooked to perfection Super Burrito: generously stuffed, well-balanced, and incredibly satisfying Nachos: loaded, fresh, and impossible to stop eating Every bite was bold, comforting, and downright delicious the kind of food that makes you pause and say this is really good. Highly recommended, and definitely a place we'll be coming back to.

    Chicken, brisket, asada tacos

We visited on Saturday for the Cinco de Mayo $2 taco special. Our order included chicken al pastor, brisket, carne asada, and horchata. Overall, the flavors were excellent, with the brisket being a particular standout. While the chicken al pastor was somewhat salty and the carne asada was a bit under-seasoned, the horchata was perfectly balanced, not overly sweet or powdery. We also enjoyed the Jamaica drink, which we believe is hibiscus, as it was refreshing and not excessively sweet. The cashier provided exceptional service, kindly reprinting our receipt when we returned to purchase a churro, which, to our pleasant surprise, was complimentary with a receipt. We can't wait to come back and try more stuff on the menu.

Seriously so good! I got the 3 taco plate with pollo a pastor and the brisket barbacoa. I love regular al pastor but try to not eat any pork and I love this pollo a pastor even better! I also tried their strawberry dragon fruit agua Fresca which was so refreshing. Not too sweet but packed with flavor. I ordered online for pickup and my order was ready when I got there. Restaurant was clean from what I saw. I'll definitely come back!

    Barbacoa taco!

Head chef personally introduced himself to every single person visiting his booth and made sure to explain their process of preparing their tacos. Appreciated that they had vegetarian options but truly loved the "8 hour slow cooked" barbacoa! They had a line at their booth the entire night! So much fun to learn from them! You can really tell how much love they put into their food and the love they have to share their food! Loved the vibe, energy, and enthusiasm throughout the night!

    Crispy asada taco
    Stacy C.

The tacos are amazing! Best in Willow Glen. I ordered a crispy asada, soft asada, and mahi mahi taco and they were scrumptious. My favorite was the soft asada. I love the way they season the meat, and I love the generous amount of onions on the tacos. The sauce on the mahi mahi was too spicy for me, but the taco tasted good after I removed it. Next time I'll order it plain. I also ordered a side of chips and pico. The pico was SO good. Again, lots of onions. Unfortunately, the container was tiny and there was only enough for a few chips. I should have ordered three of them. The chips were good, too. If you've been thinking of trying El Halal Amigos, I encourage you to give it a try. Best tacos I've had in ages.

    Nar-chos w/ Pollo al pastor ($18)
    Rachel L.

I've loved El Halal Amigos since the first time I dined at their brick and mortar restaurant. Originally, I thought their food during their food truck days was just okay. But they seriously have improved tremendously! Everything is deliciois; from freshly made quesabirria sundays (I watched it being made outside), to their famous loaded narchos, and so much more. And the chile relleno burrito is something I've never had but I'd highly recommend it! It was so flavorful, meaty, melty, and filling. The Nar-chos are a must-get every time, and I love their taco plate as well. Never had a dish here I didn't enjoy! The only thing I think could improve would be their agua frescas. While the prices are on the higher end for Mexican food, the portions are huge! Service is attentive and extremely friendly even when busy. Love sitting outside and enjoying the surroundings.

But the sambusa has a better structure, holding its shape after multiple bites. the Dough is softer but still crispy. it came with beef , chilies and other vegetables. so so good. the perfect appetizer for us. it came with a spicy green sauce that seemed to be the common sauce for every dish then the stars of the show. The sizzling hot beef plate served with veggies, rice and a salad was unbelievable. add on a lemon and some more greens sauce and you're in for a treat. the rice alone was so flavorful and it tasted like there was meat drippings on top. the beef was so tender and fell apart in 1 bite. I was blown away with the dish the chicken wrap... man. I'm not sure what kind of bread, pita was used but it was fantastic. a huge wrap with lettuce, onion chicken, sauce and other veggies. It was so messy and hard to eat with your hands so we resorted to eating with a fork and knife. Unreal. Unreal. massive portions again which are a theme here. But holy smokes this was so good. The chicken has a nice char, but is also juicy and saucy. the spongy pita neutralizes the bombardment of flavor from the meat, and the veggies compliment everything with some crunch and texture. Service was great and very helpful. They were extremely friendly and a delight to talk with. We will be back 5/5
