I've come back from afar and wanted to dine again, on their bulalo and voila, the crowds descended like hungry wolves which made my trip, more interesting and exciting. The huge one sized bulalo was to die for, bone marrow was salivating, meat was super tender and the soup reminds me of honey in some sense. Their dinakdakan was sliced and presented in its usual sense, aromatic with the spices and pork fat that to me, defines what truly was an epicurean Filipino classic dish. Their "grilled squid" was sliced perfectly and tasted like no other, chewy but tasty, squiddy but came with a combination of spices that reminds me of the sea. The tilapia was mainstream, grilled perfectly but and with fresly cut tomatoes and onions which enriched the usual restaurant menu. I can go on and on but the beauty of Tagaytay was in its View To A Kill, mist laden but as the sun came to slowly diminish the fog, a paradise of sorts appeared from the front of the restaurant like a gods was of Athena on a bright morning day. So, if you're in the Philippines, head to Leslie's Restaurant in Tagaytay and mix in with the crowd who come from all over towns and countries to enhance their culinary experiences in a nation of maikling and happy people. A very welcome change is the complex built by Robinson's Land collectively called Summit Ridge. Aside from the hotel, it's a very convenient stop as the shopping or mall area has several restaurants like Gilligan's, Razon's, Shakey's, Hap Chan, Starbucks, etcetera. There are also specialty stores at the second level for other needs. What I like most about Summit Ridge is that there's a supermarket (Robinson's, ofcourse) where we can get last minute or emergency stuff we fail to bring to an out of town trip. There's also several stalls (tiangge) in the open area selling an assortment of items from clothes, shoes, souvenir items and even delicacies. For those who do not necessarily intend to purchase anything and just need a toilet break, you'll be glad to know that theirs is quite spacious and kept relatively clean most of the time.

While Balinsasayaw Restaurants have been around for years in the area, I've never tried any of them. Thanks to a work engagement, I was able to visit the newly-opened Balinsasayaw Bed & Breakfast in Tagaytay. It was actually a surprise -- a pleasant one. First of all, it didn't look anything like the restaurants, which was all individual native huts. This one was a modern white structure on the ridge side, giving you wildly beautiful views of both the lake and the surrounding areas. Second, this one is a bed and breakfast -- they have 6 rooms that can take 12 people, they have a small events hall, and a pool, too! I didn't have to check in for work this time, but we were able to use the rooms that they had for a research group set-up, and they were pretty spacious and well-equipped. As for the food -- and this one is always critical for me haha -- it was quite flavourful, and the servings were huge for the price. When you're looking for a place to stay in the area (and we all know that tagaytay can get quite full nowadays), look them up.
