Checked out this local brewery in Lena of course. It certainly is one of the highlights around here. Lena Brewing Company has beers but also food to fatten people up. A pretty busy place with locals and people from other areas. There's about what's expected on the menu it seems. Before even coming in there's a smell of barbecue. It's got a pretty full menu. There's a bar in the middle surrounded by plenty of tables. Beers are the main thing of course. It's about $7 a pint. Best one we had of these was the Coldstream Lager. This is a full bodied Bavarian style. A lot of the food is meaty. Brisket and that kind of stuff. Among the appetizers is the Cowboy Caviar. One of the few vegetarian options. This is a mixture of beans, cilantro, corn, jalapeños, red onions, and tomatoes. It's about $16 for the Tex-Mex Bowl. This has avocado, cilantro rice, Cowboy Caviar, marinated cucumbers, pico de gallo, and Thai sauce. Of course an option is to get it with meats added. There's plenty more things including burgers and pork belly tacos among the livestock based foods. For around here it's one of the better places for big crowds. It's got beers and barbecue along with some healthier options. They're closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
What a beautiful place to be! I have been to this brewery several times but it was at their old place. They had moved to next door. I love it. I love it of how I come in and they explained so clear of how to do it. You go up and order from the bar for beer to food. I had flight of beers and I love them all. I love their food. I had brisket mac and cheese wrap. Oh it was so good! I love the taste of smokey brisket. The bartenders were so nice and make sure I was okay. I was blown away that they do make beer for dogs only! (Dont worry, it is Non-alcoholic). My dog love it. I will definitely come back to visit when I am in town for family time.
Wanted somewhere to stop that was dog friendly on our way into Galena. Lena's not only is dog friendly but encourages people to bring their furry family members. The inside of the bar was relaxing and low-key. They have a wide selection on tap and offer cocktails for non beer drinkers. We loved the cheese curds too but overall we're happy to bring our dog inside.
We stopped for lunch on the way to 'The Territory' and we really had a good time! Good food and very good beer. We had burgers, bar-b-que pulled pork, the famous chicken sandwich, and a couple of flights of beer. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food and beers. You seat yourself, place an order at the bar, and wait for the food to arrive. For beer, you get your order right away. The hefeweizen and DrunkelBerry (a dark wheat fruit beer) were very popular. Lager and Irish Red beers were very good as well. The Oktoberfest and Drunkelberry were so highly regarded a 6 pack of each was purchased for later. We got there on a Saturday just before noon and the place was pretty busy within a short time. This seems to be a highly regarded establishment in Lena! We don't get out this way too often, but we'll happily recommend it to friends heading to the Galena area.

Elevated bar food with a lot of bbq type offerings. I personally don't love having to order food at the bar and having to close your tab on the way out when we didn't sit at the bar or order any drinks.
Awesome place beer and food are both terrific! Also it is great place for kids. It also has amn amazing patio! Shout out to Cody!

I went here on the way home from Galena. The ambience is very nice and I love the fact that this restaurant is very dog friendly. You order your food at the counter and then the restaurant next-door called The Rafters who partnered with them deliver the food. My black cherry Dreamsicle cocktail was excellent. I was told the beer sampler was also good and there's ample beers to choose from. The bbq brisket sandwich was fresh, tender, delicious and amble for two people. I upgraded the side and got the loaded mac & cheese. That was very good too! This is my new favorite spot near Galena. I will definitely be back next time I am on my way to Galena!
Great place to stop on the way to or from Galena. Employees are awesome - I think they all love their job and make me love this place! Beer is great! We ordered beer & food at the bar and they brought our food to our table. Lots of merchandise for sale. Dog friendly, Harley friendly. Bathrooms had a beer tap as the faucet. Very rustic. Great place over all!
The wife and I stopped here on a road trip and thoroughly enjoyed the beer. She ordered a flight and I had a couple of pints. You can order food from an adjacent restaurant. We ordered the homemade potato chips and and cheese curds. Both were good. Equally importantly, the bartenders are nice and funny. I enjoyed listening to them banter with each other and the regulars. I will happily stop here again on another road trip.
My husband is a redhead so we had to stop at this rooster-themed location with drinks. Large selection of beer, atmosphere was comfortable and open. This is still my favorite hoodie. If you're in the area, highly suggest you stop by for great service. The staff was friendly, educational on selection and helpful.
Will definitely return!! Amazing patio, delicious beers and bloody mary, and great staff.

My husband and I stopped here on our way to Gelena, IL and cannot say enough great things about this place. We were greeted with a warm welcoming smile and got a quick run down on how everything worked. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Had a variety of draft beers to choose from and a menu with plenty of food options to pick from. We decided on the BBQ Nachos added the pork...delicious! Ordered two flights (4 in a flight) of beers so we could try a bunch. I'm pretty picky about beer and the beer here did not disappoint...nothing tasted artificial! The descriptions of the beers were spot on. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area! read more

We ordered the Sip Art Dip as our appetizer, for our dinner we ordered the 3pcs. Fried cod. All of the meals we saw being delivered looked wonderful. All the food was great and and filling. We did split it between the two of us. As the restaurant had a wait time, we chose to eat at the bar, great choice. Our bartender Chelsea, took great care of us and all the other guest with great skills. Good place great food and bartender. We will be back and would recommend this place. read more

This is the perfect place to stop for a lunch and recovery beer after experiencing the most epic baseball game of all time (Sox-Yanks Field of Dreams Game). Great service. Great beers. Good food. Incredible views of Illinois farmland. Riding the Rooster is an absolute must. If you're ever driving through the cornfields of Illinois after witnessing pure euphoria, this is the place for you. read more

Ok, so who doesn't love a place that you can bring your dog into? They even have a doggie wall of fame. But seriously. This place is adorable. Such a great atmosphere and incredible people working. A flight of beer ($10) is the way to go then you get the chance to try a few different options. Everyone is so friendly here and the cute bar just makes you want to post up for hours. It's kind of in the middle of nowhere but it's definitely worth the stop if you are anywhere in the area. Put this brewery on your list to visit. read more

On our way to Dubuque we came across this brewing company. We had some time so we decided to stop in. Its a cute place, decorated very nicely and has really cool bathroom fixtures made out of kegs! We didnt see many cars out in front but when we walked in there were a ton of people. We were shocked. Where did all these people come from? Turns out it was a tour group that had stopped by for some tastings. They must have hid the tour bus in the back of the brewery where there is extra parking. Our server was super nice and gave us a sheet of the drink list to order from. They offer flights of 4 for $10, 8 for $20 and 12 for $30. We opted for the flight of 8 and my favorites were the carmel pecan coffee stout and the drunkelberry. With our tasting we also received complimentary pretzels. I'm hoping one day they will bottle that drunkelberry. It was delicious! If you are ever in the area definitely check this place out! read more

Been coming here for years. Love the dog friendly areas. Got to have more Pog Mo Hein on draft. My favorite. Food is from a selected menu from Rafters. All good. Winter boredom? Stop here. Their ante room is bursting with sun. read more
Came across this place on our way back to Milwaukee. Such a cool brewery. Love the giant wooden rooster that you can sit on. Great photo op! My boyfriend got a flight and I got a Bloody Mary. We sat on the indoor/outdoor porch area. It was a lovely Sunday afternoon and the weather was amazing. They also offer food as well. If you're ever in the area definitely check them out!!! read more
Driving ol' westy way from Chicago. If you are headed out toward the Mississippi River (I really just wanted to write Mississippi :) ) your probably headed to Galena or Dubuque, or maybe even further. Either way, you or the people in your car are more than likely in need of a pitstop. Lena Brewing is just the place for you. And they are super dog-friendly, so let Sparky out to play here. As for the beer, it's always been filled with great selections, so I would recommend bringing a growler to fill up so once you are done with your road trip, you have a nice treat to relax with. The food is pretty good, nothing that will blow you away. The brewery is connected to a restaurant that serves everything from breakfast to dinner so no matter the time, this is the pitstop for you. read more

This review is from my husband as l don't like beer, but he wanted to visit since we were in the middle of no where. Beer was good, so good he got a growler of the coffee stout to take home and share with others in our group. It's was a great brewery and glad we had the chance to visit. read more

Let me preface this by saying that I had the following two beers while I was here: Caramel Pecan Coffee Stout and Chocolate Covered Strawberry. Both beers were spot on and lived up to their name. They also had a good dozen other brews on tap that looked inviting. The brewery itself is a piece of genius. The indoor bar area features regular tables, bar seat tables and a regular bar. They also have a patio with Adirondack chairs..great for warmer temp days. When you walk in you'll also see a wood stump with a hammer. Be sure to read the instructions and ask the bartender for a couple of nails. The folks here were so cool that they even allowed my kiddo to tap his own nail in. A couple other cool things, guys..be sure to check out the urinal. It couldn't be any 'truer'. And as an "I spy"..see if you can spot the original 1980's Star Wars lunchboxes. My son and I are Star Wars fans and got a kick out of them. Last but not least, be sure to grab some of the iron puzzles sitting on the window ledge. Good mind teasers, especially when you've had a few drinks. Good conversation is useful at any brewery and the folks who where here yesterday were just that. Both bartenders were knowledgeable and eager to talk to their customers. Lena is off the beaten path from us but I'm glad we trekked out. Be sure to add this one to your 'to-do' list..great beer, great brewery, great people. Cheers! read more
Awesome brewery right in the heart of Lena! My friends and I came here on a Friday night for some beers before heading to our lakehouse. Enjoyed the flight and the spacious outdoor seating. Friendly staff and good beer selection on draft. Definitely plan on returning soon read more
