The "Dont Risk It" Platter: The brisket was dry and not edible, so that stayed on the plate after one bite. The pulled pork was good, until later in the day when I didnt feel that well. Fries were the best part of the meal. The Cole slaw was definitely from a food service container and had that distinct mayo flavor. The picture you see posted is what was left on the plate. So it's cheap for what you pay, but not worth at any price. Overall: Not sure what they do well, but we're not coming back to try.

Speaking of the specials, that's what I sounded good to me. It was difficult to choose, but I went with the Meatloaf and mashed potatoes. I can't say a lot about the presentation... but honestly I don't care what it looks like because I'm going to eat it. It was real mashed potatoes, with two thick slices of a delicious meatloaf. It was absolutely delicious. My girlfriend had the Black & Bleu salad. She was very please with it. For desert we got the deep fried Oreo Cookies. Okay, yes they are a carbilicious, deep fried sugar bomb... but they where so very good. The nice thing is that they are just the right size to satisfy the sweet tooth, but not so much as to make you regret it... too much. I had the mushroom Swiss burger. I really should remember to ask about the mushrooms before I order one. These mushrooms were canned- which can be fine if they are sautéed or warmed in a mushroom sauce. These 'shrooms were not. And - while I should have expected it - the "Swiss" cheese was a slice of Kraft processed Swiss cheese. This from a place that is 23 miles from Monroe, Wisconsin - the Swiss Cheese capital of the world! Note to my friends who are OCD - do not sit in the first set of booths when you come in. These booths were all moved forward a few inches during a remodel - but the booth numbers on the wall and the lights above the table - which used to be centered - are now skewed to one side of the table. While Landmark was an acceptable lunch spot - we will not be adding it to our rotation of places to stop on our way to Iowa.

We were a big fan of the all you can eat broasted chicken on Sunday nights, until the health issue tonight. My wife is still feeling queezy and very upset after her experience there today. The chicken came out and one breast looked like it was broken open as a test and the other was upside down. She took a couple bites of the broken apart one and thought it was a little cold. She then wanted to try the other breast and flipped it over to see that it was a fully eaten breast. She almost threw up at that point. No one every apologized for giving her some other customer's left over pre eaten food. She just went back to the kitchen, then came back and said they had to cook more and someone had given her the table next to us left over trash. She only apologized at the end for making her wait for her meal. No apology for giving her nasty pre eaten food. This makes me and my wife SOOOOO angry we will never be going back. read more

I have to say I was very disappointed the last visit. My husband already reviewed it for this place and has had several people say that it has to be BS. NO it is not-I received someone elses' half eaten chicken turned upside down on the plate and unfortunately did not notice at first. I took a bite of the untouched potatoes on the plate and then turned the chicken over to find CARCASSES!!!!!! I have never had this happen to me ever and that this place had eaten food next to where they delivered fresh food is unclean and definitely a health concern. The waitress did not apologize and just blamed another worker for putting the plate on the counter where they picked up their food. The only BS I call is they did not offer to take it off the bill or any apologies whatsoever, which makes me think they do not care about the health of their customers. Me and my wife went and ate with our 2 kids. So me and my wife got soup so we were sharing it with our kids. Then my wife takes a bite and she like what the heck. She pulls a screw from her mouth. Not one but 2 screws in a CUP is soup WTF. And the owner gave us 25$ off that's ridiculous everything should have been covered plus more. Do not eat here this place is terrible. See RT 20 keeping going. Rather eat at McDonald's. We gave waitress our number and said we want the owner to call us days later nothing still. Great ownershipWill NEVER eat here again. read more

They're all over the chart with service and food. Steak is so-so. Decent for the price, which is relatively cheap. Chicken is excellent. I've had fish there twice, and it was barely mediocre. McDonald's fish sandwiches are better and fresher tasting, if that tells you anything. Service is highly variable. Sometimes, they are very efficient and handling crowds and attentive. Other times, we walked out after waiting over an hour and never got served (after our brilliant waitress wrote our order on our hand). Sheesh! read more

They make the best burgers in all of NW Illinois. You have to stop and try this place out. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and they treat everyone with respect and kindness including first timers. The place is clean and the locals love to meet first timers.
