It's been over a year, and I've had time to reflect. While hospice care should center on compassion, communication, and trust, our experience fell short in several critical ways. Our family often felt unheard, with key decisions made without fully including all family members with decision making authority. Communication lacked consistency and transparency, and at times we were given information that later proved to be inaccurate. There were also concerns around professionalism. Sensitive information was discussed in ways that felt inappropriate, which further eroded our trust. Additionally, clear family wishes--particularly regarding the timing of certain medications--were not consistently respected, and explanations around those decisions were conflicting. Basic care expectations were not always met. Equipment that was promised was not provided, and safety measures that should have been in place were absent, leading to a preventable fall incident. End-of-life care is one of the most vulnerable experiences a family can go through. It requires honesty, coordination, and deep respect for both the patient and their loved ones. Unfortunately, our experience did not reflect those standards. It is not surprising that Endless Journey's nurses received probation and fines for misconduct in July 2026. I share this out of concern. No family should have to navigate this type of added distress during a time of grief. My Grandma was an amazing woman and I am grateful for the time that I got to spend with her.

But certifications only tell part of the story. Reliability You Can Count On: Tonja worked 12-hour shifts, four days a week, and was unfailingly punctual. She was always willing to pick up additional shifts when we needed coverage, and she never made it difficult - something that gave our family enormous peace of mind. This consistent communication meant we were never in the dark, and we trusted her judgment completely. When challenges or emergencies arose, she handled them with calm, care, and concern. From day one, she quickly grasped our aunt's unique needs and personality. What truly set Tonja apart was how she treated our aunt like her own family. She took her on afternoon drives to break up the routine of assisted living. She planned "ladies lunches" that gave our aunt something to look forward to. She did in-home manicures and foot rubs - those small acts of care that brought real comfort and dignity during a difficult time. Going Above and Beyond: During our aunt's final days, when care became especially challenging, Tonja's dedication truly shone. Keeping our aunt hydrated was a major priority for our family but was often difficult to administer at end of life. Tonja worked tirelessly and patiently to ensure our aunt stayed as hydrated and comfortable as possible - attention to this critical detail made an enormous difference in her quality of life right up to the end. Most importantly, she provided genuine companionship and love when our aunt needed it most. A Family Recommendation: We all worked together to manage our aunt's care, and we are unanimous: if you're looking for someone who will treat your loved one like their own family, who brings both professional skill and genuine heart to their work, and who understands that quality care means both safety and joy - Tonja is that person. We would trust her with our most vulnerable family members without hesitation. Tonja deserves credit for the comfort and care she provided - we are forever grateful.

She befriended them right away, and my parents really enjoyed seeing her come and go. Tonja was incredibly conscientious about the food preparation. Was it good enough? What did their favorite things? What could I do better etc. We unfortunately had to move mom and dad into an assisted living. At that point, we really didn't need Tonja's help. It wasn't until the very end when mom and dad started to decline heavily. We decided to see if Tonja could come back and care for them. It was incredibly helpful for them to have her come back easily into their lives. It was comforting for us to know that they were comforted by having her there. Up until they're dying day Tonja was with our parents. She was loving caring, and giving I would recommend her highly to anyone who is luck enough to get her.

Today, I visited MD West One for a second opinion regarding a work-related injury affecting my…read moreright shoulder, arm, and hand, including symptoms of pain, swelling, purple/blue discoloration, and numbness. My goal was to gain clarity on my condition, as I previously felt I was not receiving clear answers--only recommendations for procedures--despite the impact this injury has on my ability to perform my job. The check-in process was efficient and professional. After being called back, I was weighed and taken to an evaluation room. Approximately ten minutes later, a nurse practitioner entered. She was friendly and took the time to ask detailed questions about the incident. She conducted an evaluation and asked whether my original provider had performed an X-ray of my hand or only a visual assessment. When I explained that only a visual evaluation had been done, she expressed concern that imaging had not been completed. She also stated that, based on her review of my chart, I did not have carpal tunnel syndrome but instead may have a rheumatoid autoimmune condition. This was new information to me and had not previously been communicated by my original specialist. I did note that my primary care provider at Methodist Hospital had once mentioned the possibility of an autoimmune issue but had not confirmed a diagnosis. The nurse practitioner indicated she would step out to conduct further research and return with additional information. Approximately fifteen minutes later, Dr. Jeffrey Tiedeman entered the room. He asked questions that I had already addressed and referenced my visit to the emergency room due to loss of feeling in my right hand. At that point, the experience shifted. He examined my hands and stated that an X-ray was needed to confirm a carpal tunnel diagnosis. I asked whether this could be performed during my visit, and he instructed me to follow up with my current provider instead. I explained that my current provider had not recommended or ordered an X-ray. I asked again for assistance, and my request was declined. It became clear to me that my concerns were not being fully addressed, and I did not feel supported in obtaining answers about my condition. Both the doctor and nurse practitioner then left the room without explanation and did not return. I waited approximately fifteen minutes before realizing the visit had concluded without closure, guidance, or next steps. This experience was disappointing, as I sought a second opinion to better understand my condition and receive appropriate direction for treatment. Unfortunately, the lack of communication and follow-through did not meet those expectations.

My sisters and I were involved every step of the way. After meeting my mom they decided which caretakers would suit her needs and personality best. The care was extraordinary and my mom (who can be difficult to please at times) had a great experience with each person. Together, we set a schedule so that she usually had the same caregivers which helped on days when my mom's dementia was at its worst. She especially loved Kendyl!! My mom, sisters and I are grateful we were recommended The Key.

When I explained what was going on to her and told her I've been to two different ERs and had the nastiest tone in her voice saying she didn't know what I was talking about and said she needed records of that. As if my pain isn't real. I'm really considering going somewhere else but I love my doctor. I'm really offended by this nurse. If she wasn't there I would praise this clinic with my whole being.
