They have a workout area & large TV room on each floor. Their dining room is on the main floor with a menu for every day items and then you have a choice for the special of the day. If you are a visitor, you can purchase a lunch ticket to join your family or friend. They have different events going on every day to keep people busy & active. They have a popcorn room that also serves as a coffee room. They had free vital checks with weight, BP and oxygen checks . Another day they had a hearing test. They keep their tenants up-to-date with any changes with newsletters that go out. It seems the care quality here is top notch. There's plenty to do in the Legacy block area if you want to get out & shop or walk around.

The facility is lovely, big central atrium with tons of natural light and a small live bird aviary. Her apartment layout is simple and smart, allowing for a living area and kitchenette as well as a common dining area we've often used for family meals. She has control of her own thermostat and we bring her dog over several times a week for visits. I still haven't figured out what everyone's job is, as there are sooo many employees.regardless, all staff are friendly, efficient and patient. My own patience with mother and her fellow residents has improved with their example.

The activities available are numerous and to see would keep anyone busy most of the day and are fun to participate in. during my recent 10 day visit with my parents and staying here with them I am confident they are in the best hands possible. I came in as agency staff (CNA), ready to work and treat residents with the respect they deserve, but instead of being welcomed, I was targeted. One particular med aide went out of her way to provoke me throughout my shift, nitpicking and creating issues where there were none. She eventually ran to the DON with a completely false accusation about my attitude, even though I followed every instruction she gave and made sure residents were well cared for. Her behavior was unprofessional, unwarranted, and ultimately reflected more on her than on me. Before I left, I still toileted the residents who needed care because at the end of the day, they are the reason I show up. I also spoke with my agency and another CNA, and both confirmed I wasn't the first person this had happened to. What got to me wasn't the workload--it was being disrespected for doing my job right. That kind of energy says a lot about the toxic culture there, and unfortunately, it's the residents who suffer most, like being left in soiled clothing for hours and completely ignored. There are a few kind and hardworking staff members there, but the lack of teamwork, compassion, and accountability overshadows the good. Families deserve to know that a nice building means nothing without safe, respectful care behind it.

The staff at Elk Ridge is -- mostly -- very nice, particularly their on-staff nurse; however, just…read moreremember, they're still a business and their business is to make a profit. (I always felt like the truly helpful staff members were doing their best to make up for the staff members who were consistently less than helpful, notably the maintenance staff, the surly receptionist, and the operations director.) If you're in an apartment that's been renovated, you may enjoy living here. However if you're in an apartment that has NOT been renovated, go somewhere else. The prices are the same for the renovated apartments -- prices that predictably increase every year -- and the incompetent staff won't permanently fix anything that's broken in the non-renovated apartments, for example, a perpetually leaky faucet; a stained ceramic sink; a perpetually broken disposal; a refrigerator that produced no ice; and cheap vertical blinds that also often broke. These were all very basic things that greatly would have improved my parents' quality of life, but Elk Ridge refused to replace these items which, in the grand scheme of things, are relatively inexpensive. In the winter, they also inexplicably do not put down salt on the sidewalks -- it's Nebraska in winter...Putting down salt should be a daily SOP. While walking, I slipped and fell straight down on my shins and kneecaps -- several witnesses, thankfully, and thankfully I only sustained severe bruising that lasted ~three weeks. Elk Ridge is lucky I didn't break anything; I would have sued, no question. One of the residents told me she moved in, in circa 2019, and has watched the quality and level service decrease steadily, which is unfortunate. I got the sense she was strongly considering moving. Overall, I would not recommend. Live there at your own peril.

On the second day of my husband's stay at the Heritage at Sterling Ridge memory care, he was…read moreinjured. Two staff members grabbed him and forced him into a bathroom while he was resisting. When they let go of him, he flew against the wall, fracturing three ribs in his back. One arm was injured by the staff member holding on and it ripped a 6" gap in his skin; the other arm was severely bruised after hitting the wall. He also hit his head on the wall. No ambulance was called. I took him to the ER and he was admitted to the hospital, where he stayed for two weeks and then spent another two weeks in rehab care. Staff needs much more training and compassion. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS MEMORY CARE!

A nice place with high a risk that your loved one will be in danger. Several instances on nights and weekends where Dad was suffering and no one came after calls. There is constant staff turnover. If you care about your loved ones, you owe it to yourself and to them to stay away from here. My Dad died before we could move him out of here. He begged us to make it happen.

The facility goes against everything I stand for so I chose not to finish out a shift. Instead of just walking out, I made her aware at 8am that she could keep me until 3pm but would need to find me a replacement 3pm-11pm. She refused. Around 9am I ended up clocking out, now she refuses to give me the pay owed to me. Facility is very understaffed so residents definitely are not receiving the care they need. I would not recommend for work or to place a family member in their care.
