The market is laid out nicely with several covered, but open air buildings and then an indoor space where the restrooms and other shops are situated. Another great thing about the market is it is a designated stop on the KC Streetcar, so getting to and from is a breeze, especially for those not familiar with the area. Also, it's fairly close to the river front, and is connected via paved pathway. Overall, great little market to spend some time wandering through, whether you have an agenda or just looking to experience a bit of local while in KC.

It is also home to some of the most delicious tomatoes you will ever have in your life. I'm being serious here. There's this guy. He sells them out of the back of his truck. The busiest stop by far was Nitchals Farm, where nearly 25 people were already lined up at 7:30 a.m. waiting for homegrown tomatoes and fresh produce. Not wanting to miss out (a little FOMO never hurts!), we joined the line ourselves. While we waited, several people couldn't stop talking about how good their tomatoes are, so it felt like we made the right choice. Another favorite was Bazaar Spice, which offers an impressive selection of spices available by the scoop or in bottles. We picked up two bottles for $15 and chose the Italian Blend and Salsa Blend, both of which smelled amazing. Every vendor we visited was welcoming and friendly, and there was an incredible variety of high-quality products throughout the market. It's easy to see why this has become such a popular community destination. We're already looking forward to making it part of our weekly summer routine. Hot tip: the best berries seem to be in the middle. A flat box runs you $0.75 and the berry price is a bit over $5/lb. If you just can't stop picking, then you'll fill a flat quickly and you're rewarded with maybe $40 worth of strawberry goodness. These berries are so worth it! Clean, sweet, and just ripe for the picking! Gieringers does other berries (blackberries, blueberries, etc.) but those are best picked well into the summer.
