While there have been some positives, the overall direction, especially in recent years, has been disappointing. The biggest issue is a clear decline in customer experience. The Metro Development Group management team seems to have lost sight of what made this place successful in the first place: its residents. The very people who built the Lagoon's reputation are now being treated like an afterthought. One example is the entry process. Residents used to have a dedicated entry and bag check, which made sense and showed value for membership. That has slowly been phased out, leaving members stuck in long general admission lines. For a paid membership experience, that's simply unacceptable. Even more frustrating is the constant rollout of new systems that feel unfinished. Instead of leveraging existing member data, residents are repeatedly forced to re-register as if they're brand new. This creates unnecessary confusion--for both members and staff--and leads to avoidable issues. This past weekend, I watched a longtime "legacy member" family of five get told only the father existed in the system. The rest of the family had been removed and would need to enter as guests. That's not just inconvenient--it's embarrassing and unacceptable for a venue of this caliber. I had a similar experience myself. I used my membership card to check in and purchase a drink with no issue. Less than an hour later, the same card suddenly "didn't exist" in the system. I was forced to go through the entire setup process again. There's clearly a lack of consistency and reliability in their system. At this point, it feels like this location is being used as a testing ground for new processes rather than being properly managed. If that's the case, there's little evidence that feedback is being implemented or that improvements are being made for this community. Metro needs leadership with real hospitality experience--someone who understands how to run a high-quality, member-focused venue and deliver a consistent experience. If management is reading this: please remember what made this Lagoon successful. Invest in your residents, fix the systems, and bring back the level of service this community deserves. This was the first Lagoon in the U.S.--it should be one of the best, not one of the most frustrating.

Now it…read moreis $20 Friday through Sunday, and Monday through Thursday $10, and starting May 25th every day that you go and are a non resident is $20. This does not include the water slide, obstacle course, and the kayaks. Those are additional. When I went there was quite a bit of seating. You can bring your umbrella, and if you want shade, you better bring your umbrella. If you want a cabana, you better expect to pay a pretty penny and if you do that penny will only be an hour. It's not worth it. What will be cool later will be the swim up bar and the adult pool, but it was not open when i went. It is very pretty but the actual swimming area was not very big. It was more of a wading area and there was more space for the kayaks. It's nice to have an option, but for $20, i don't think it's worth it. For $10, I say it is. It would be very cool if they had festivals here, and July 4th and holiday fireworks. That would be so much fun. I would go for that. There is food but it was minimal. Two vendors with cuban sandwiches and hot dogs, and a stand for alcohol until the bar was complete. The bar is really cool and also it it where you can sit inside or sit on the side of the bar in the water. That will be a cool spot! Epperson lagoon is very pretty. It does look paradise like. It's super convenient for me and you can really feel like you are on a getaway, but price wise I'm still leaving towards my number 1 Clearwater Beach, but nothing can compare and they are still apples to oranges!

Every person on staff was super nice to my friend and me. Very helpful and they tried their best to keep the love bugs out of the water. We rented an umbrella for $15 plus tax, and it was totally worth it. The weather was perfect, but I did not want to get burnt. You can tell they are still under construction, but the view was still lovely. There really wasn't much room to swim, and the deepest the water got was maybe four feet. They have sections roped off for the kayaks/paddleboarding. I think those rentals and the slide were an additional $15. We opted out because there wasn't much room to paddle, but it was fun watching others try it out. Noodles are permitted. I can only imagine how packed this place can get on the weekend. Outside food and drinks were not permitted, but they had a bar and a food truck type trailer on site. They'll check your bags as you enter the gate. My friend and I got a mimosa for $5 and split a "Tampa Cuban" for $9. When it was time to pay, the guy said it was really $12. Extra taxes and self-inflicted tip? The sandwich was a little fatty, so I would recommend that you pack a cooler, get some Publix subs and chips and eat them in the AC of your car when you get hungry. Would I come back again? Heck yeah, at the $10 entry cost. However, according to the website, they plan on increasing the prices next month. It was the perfect day with my best friend and our 2 children…read more We rented chairs in the VIP section, which was an extra $16.00 dollars each and honestly it was SO worth it! They had a full bar in the VIP section, and actual swimming pool and reserved areas for chairs (with umbrellas), cabanas, etc. There was a beachy area a little ways outside of the VIP section and it was perfect for the kids to run around and play in the water/sand without us thinking they are going to drown (wiping sweat off of my face as I type). There is a food truck near the VIP section that had hot dogs, nachos, chicken, fries, and a hamburger. You can only bring in water bottles to the Lagoon- but they did allow us to bring in food for the little ones since they need special food (gluten-free/dairy-free). They didn't ask any questions and there was no hesitations! The park was under construction which was fine- it looks like they may be building an actual house entrance which will be really nice! I would like to see them add additional food options too. If I'm in town again I'll definitely be back!
