Then I was told I cannot under any circumstances tour a Lennar home without my realtor present. I was "graciously" told I still could but it was a huge no no. Let me tell you, the homes they showed me had massive issues all over with tape pointing out issues to be fixed including massive gaps under window sills and between doorways. Then when I toured the agent followed at my heels and asked me in every room what I thought. THEN because I said I'm looking for a first house and a decent price range that amenities will outweigh the price of the home at Lennar. THEN wouldn't give me any paperwork or home prices or booklet. If my husband was with me he would have given him a piece of his mind and this agent completely turned us off to Lennar. Plus showing us the homes you're trying to sell as the "model" homes with issues at every corner. Incredibly unimpressed and can only imagine how dealing with Lennar was going to be. I would have LOVED a follow up call to give this guy a piece of my mind.

My kids are buying a new townhome and we went out to the build site Saturday. The entrance is ridiculous, it makes me laugh just thinking about it. 3 million dollars of huge fountains to bring you into this expansive North end of the village. The South end is already developed and best known for the "Lagoon"- open for the public to enjoy for a fee, residents have great access to all the facilities. Beaches, swim up bar, restaurants, inflatable slides, kayaking and more! The North end is also building a lagoon that will be even bigger. It was originally slated to be finished this fall, and pushed to spring and now looks to be completed next summer. I hope the kids townhome doesn't get too delayed. I know supplies and workers are both having shortages. Right now- it looks to be on schedule. Very exciting time for them. Impressive doesn't seem grand enough for what is being built here.

We are in the midst of having a Maronda Home built in the new Mirada community. I am super…read moreexcited to be a part of the newest lagoon community. My husband and I signed a contract in October and are in the earliest parts of new construction. I wanted to share our journey along the way. So far, there have been good and not so good experiences. I really like Kyle, our point of contact from Maronda Homes. We were able to choose an array of options for our new home, including color scheme and kitchen and bath upgrades. Kyle patiently went through all of the options with us. (Tip: Make sure you get a listing on paper of all of the available upgrades! We were not told upfront that for an additional cost, we had the option to add blinds on all of our windows. When we later found out that was an option, they wanted to charge us an extra $500 change order fee.) We have asked that the extra fee be waived and are waiting for a response. My rating at this time is a bit low because disappointingly, there have been some delays in build out due to the wrong trusses being ordered (twice) and the frame not passing inspection. We are waiting for a status and to find out how much of a delay this will cause. If you are considering buying a Maronda Home in Mirada, feel free to reach out to me. Bozzi Builders built my home several years ago and at first I was so happy with the results, it was…read morejust as I imagined. Now that I have settled in, my opinion has changed. I'm not that happy anymore. I have found mistakes, sloppiness, and places where they used cheap materials. Some of the mistakes I found include tile work and the grading of my lawn. The tiles throughout my home are not even around the edges and they used extra grout to fill in large gaps. The grading on my property was angled so that instead of rain water being drained away from my home it is angled toward my home on the west and south sides. To emphasize that error, there are 2 downspouts that come down in this area. My lanai floods each and every time it rains. This is going to expensive to fix. Having a house built was expensive enough but now I am facing a huge expense to repair the lawn. There are grout stains on my bathroom ceiling and even chunks of grout on the guest bathroom ceiling. The molding on top of the kitchen cabinet was cut short so there is a gap. After finding all these mistakes, I am also finding that they used cheap materials on the both the exterior and interior of my home. They used Styrofoam to surround the windows outside. I have found that there is no tile under the dishwasher. They used Styrofoam above my front door and as the material for the decorative exterior touches. The last place they used styrofoam is under the granite counter top in my kitchen. The styrofoam is easily dented by bar stools and the kitchenette chairs. These were all just a few of the mistakes, sloppiness, and substandard materials makes me question everything I can't see. I would NEVER use this company to build a home or fix a sink hole.
