I last reviewed Lenox Hill Radiology in another part of Brooklyn a number of years ago . This location is downtown and underwent a renovation a while ago . Who remembers years ago when these spaces had lockers with keys to put your stuff in? Well I do and it's awful now because there's a room to change and that's it . So make sure you bring your own plastic bag to put your clothes in . Went in for my yearly mamo and it's always jammed packed . Wait time was about 40 minutes to be seen . The space is bigger and you must check in before they call you . I find that they are fully staffed and have most don't wear masks if that bothers you . You can fill out your check in online so you don't have to fill out forms once you get there . Once I was seen it took about 15 minutes to take images. Make sure to check if your doc is on file that you want the images sent to . Not sure if all day is busy but my appointment was at 3:30PM . The one thing I absolutely hate is their online system for trying to make an appointment . While I don't like talking and calling don't waste your time trying to make an appointment online with Lenox Hill Radiology. You will get every location other than the one you want especially if there are no more appointments on a particular day. Just call . The service was good the technician was pleasant and actually chatted with me . read more

I want to give this place a negative star! I had a mammogram and sonogram scheduled at this location. HORRIBLE!!!!! I believe the only people working there were not successful in their medical studies. The receptionist was on her cell phone and was not interested in the patients. I was seen for my mammogram and was waiting to be seen for my sonogram. I waited and waited and waited in the hallway until I asked if the technician was going to see me. "Oh, let me check." They came back with, "We reached out to someone, and they may take a while to get here." I put my clothes on and left. Staff EXTREMELY unprofessional. NEVER, EVER, EVER will I go there for anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JUST HORRIBLE!! PATIENTS SHOULD BE HANDLED WITH COURTESY AND RESPECT! read more

I am sad to read negative reviews on this Radiology place. I had a positive experience. When I walked in I was greeted very professionally and registered without any issues. My waiting time was less than 30 mins no problem. I went to get my bone density text the technician was lovely explaining everything to me. I felt safe and the test was fast. The facility was clean, one still has to wear a mask for Covid protocol which is fine with me. read more

I did not have a good experience here. Though most of the front desk staff were very friendly and professional, one was particularly annoying and passive aggressive. Reminded me of a tattooed, brunette Nurse Ratchett from "One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest". Long wait times due to not having enough technicians working to accommodate the crowd. The technicians were very nice but obviously overworked. I didn't like the vibe here so will not be back. Too many nearby radiology centers to have to settle. read more

Terrible! Went to 2 walk in places and neither had technicians. Then went to a third and they said they didn't take walkins

I had an appointment here a few years back, maybe 2022. The told me I had a $300 something odd co-pay for my breast exams. I thought this was strange but I paid it & promised myself to look into my insurance. Forgot about it until I received the co-pay amount sent to me in the form of a check 6,7 months later. I was puzzled but glad to get that money returned. When my nxt appointment came up, they charged me a copay of over $400! I was enraged. I paid it and had to get back to work. However, I didn't forget to call my insurance provider this time. Come to find out that breast exams are required to be fully covered by law by insurance companies and that those bastards were charging a Pre-pay but telling gullible folk like me it was a co-pay. When I called their finance office to confront them about their intentional dishonesty, the person on the phone got snarky and rude insisting that it was my responsibility to find out about my coverage. True. Then, her job must be to mislead & take advantage of the unfortunate women who come there to get assured they are healthy. Not to worry. They never have to worry about me coming there again. I know they continue to trade in this trickery from other posters. Probably time to get the AG's office involved. read more

The check-in process is terrible!! I've been coming here for several years as the location is convenient. But, I will be looking for an alternative location after today. They require you to fill out information and send pictures of your insurance and DR. referral prior to your appointment. Silly me thought this would hasten the check-in process. It made absolutely no difference. The ladies at the desk as usual moved like molasses!! There were at least 5 ladies sitting at the check-in counter, but only 2 seemed to be really doing any real work. Lenox Hill Radiology needs to have a Supervisor or someone to assure that these ladies are working as sufficiently as possible. There is absolutely no excuse for what I experienced today. My appointment was for 8:30, it is now 8:52 and they haven't even called me to check me in yet!!! I want to add in all fairness that the young lady who finally checked me in was wonderful!! When I called to schedule my appointment I let the scheduler know I needed two different sonograms. I gave her the information several times and she seemed a confused. I wondered if I was speaking to a trainee and kept repeating myself and confirming the appointment and tests needed. I was asked to upload the referral into the portal, which I did. After scheduling the appointment, I received daily texts reminding me to arrive 15 minutes early and I did. My appointment was at 4pm (I arrived at 3:45pm) and I was not seen until 5:45pm, so I waited for 2 HOURS! I asked the front desk staff twice about when I would be seen (first at 5pm and then 5:30pm) and they were very dismissive as though I shouldn't be concerned about my appointment being so delayed. When I finally saw the sonographer she asked why I only scheduled for one test when the referral said I needed two. I told her that is what I requested from the scheduler and that I had also uploaded the referral into their portal right after scheduling. I was only able to complete one test. I followed all of the instructions, but this place is so disorganized and chaotic that it doesn't matter. I will NEVER go back here. Last year, I had a terrible experience at another Lenox Hill location (mainly the very rude staff) and my conclusion is that they don't really care about patients. read more

I would give zero stars if I could, because that's what I received...ZERO SERVICE! Come here if you have time to waste. When I entered the lobby it took 20 mins to get checked in because they were dealing with another upset patient who actually DIDN'T have an appt. There were about 7 people waiting to be seen which surprised me because it seemed the place was closing as the custodial staff was mopping and sweeping over our feet. The office manager then allowed this woman with no appt. to skip all the people waiting. I was patiently waiting lin the lobby, but at this point 30 mins passes. So, I ask the desk how much longer I would have to wait, and she tells me that there are people ahead of me and I would likely get in by 9pm. Check-in: 6:50pm (I was told to come in this Appt. Time: 7:15pm. Waits in Lobby until 7:45pm THEN I am told I need to wait another hour and 15 mins to start a 40 min procedure. A 2 hour wait is unacceptable any way you put it! On the plus side, the the waiting area looks clean. This is good to know because the majority of your time will be spent there. Arriving 30 mins earlier- which they ask you to do numerous times via spammy texts, emails and calls- will likely result in spending even more time in the waiting room. read more

This isn't my first time at LHR, but today, i came in for my routine mammogram. You're asked to arrive 15 minutes early for check-in, which i was in compliance with. The lovely woman who checked me in was friendly & full of energy. There was only one other person waiting ahead of me- so I thought! Apparently there was only one mammogram tech on duty, as one called out. Therefore, they were severely behind with appointments (5 women were actually ahead of me). This pushed my appointment back over an hour. This would've been great to know beforehand as you're not supposed to wear deodorant to your appt. Imagine commuting in NYC to an appointment that you cannot wear deodorant for only to have to wait an extended period of time an hour after your appointment because they're behind-in the SUMMER!!! I understand life happens, but no one called/emailed/texted me prior alerting me of the delay. Nor was I told anything upon my arrival. I didn't find out until I asked 15 minutes after my appointment time (30 minutes AFTER my arrival). Needless to say, I'm not a happy camper. I'm big on communication and extremely understanding, but some common courtesy should've been given. Marie, the mammogram tech, was such a lovely & professional person. Unfortunately, she was overworked. Normally this office is busy, loud and delayed due to overbooking. I only come here because it's the closest location that takes my insurance. I'll be back in a few days for a sonogram, so hopefully the service will be different. Otherwise, I'll be looking into other locations or a different option altogether. read more

I came for a mammogram/bone density and my experience was less about the employees, who seemed overworked nice people, but aboout the facilities. They will charge my insurance $1,500 for a regular exam but they can't give us a proper area for changing clothes? We need to be in stalls like horse and get out to the waiting area with our boobs hanging alongside other women. They charge the price of a luxe service and give you poor quality experience. One wonders if it feels the same in the Upper East Side or if they are treating us as cattle just here in Brooklyn, with more people of color as clients. Whatever they are doing, don't come here. The whole process from top to bottom was terrible at this location. The website said this locations take walk in for xrays. Front desk said nope, i had to make an appointment. I explained the system will not let me make an online appointment or an account at all and the telephone scheduling only refers you to their website. i said ok, I'll come back, please help me make an appointment. i waited over 55 mins for some one to help me make an appointment. I have had two great experiences at this facility in the past two weeks--such polite, caring staff! Efficient, gentle, and professional. For years, I stepped to the UWS for my mammas. No more! One year later & still 5 stars. As soon as I walk in I had a young lady take my temperature. Then Maria helped me. I had to have 4 things done. A abdominal & vaginal ultra sound & a mri on my right & left knee. I got called for my mri first but since i had started drinking i wanted the ultra sound first. The lady in the mri room understood & said i can get that done first. About 5 min later they call me for the ultra sound. The tech checked my bladder & said It was good & she did both ultra sounds. Once done I sat & waited to be called for my mri. I get called & had to put on the gown. I get comfortable on the table & the guy gives me ear plugs & headphones for the noise. I also asked if i can use the rest room after first mri. It took 15 minutes & the machine was telling me how long inwill hear the noise for. When the tech came back, he did ask if i need the rest room but i said ill be fine for another 15 minutes. Once It was done I also spoke to Maggie since I need to get a mammogram next month & she said she will do it for me again this yr. read more

Their billing department is a disaster. Every time I go for a scan, they try to charge me a co-pay even though I don't have one. They overcharged me yet again on 5/27. I received the EOB from my insurance showing that they paid in full and I did not have a co-pay. I have tried calling their billing department to request a refund of the amount I was over billed. I have been on hold now for 47 minutes (this is the second time I've called - no answer last time). I have sent two emails with the EOD and haven't received a response. read more

The office is clean but no structure when it comes to x-ray There is no appointment just walk in which is chaotic and leave people feeling less than a dog. I was there at 9 Bond Street at 4:20pm. The clerk took my script process everything along with my Co payment only to be told 20 minutes later the tech cannot see me. What kind of mess is this? First, the appointment intake person got my appointment wrong and so they made me switch locations, and reschedule. Then, when at my rescheduled appointment, they made me wait an hour because they have an incredibly unclear check in set up and are understaffed and busy. When I asked for help after waiting, they told me the doctor had left half an hour into my hourlong wait because she always leaves at 4, no matter how behind schedule they are, and so they couldn't see me today, but they could "squeeze me in" tomorrow. Infuriated, I accept, because I am here because I am in pain and they take my insurance. Then, I got here today for the third try, waited an hour and a half to get a mammogram (from a very good tech, sadly overworked-seeming but overall quite efficient and kind). I'm waiting what looks to be another hour for a sonogram. I feel I am in purgatory. I don't know when I will be able to get to work. Nothing is being communicated to me. I suspect it's "nobody's fault," but it doesn't mean it isn't terrible. I don't know how people are expected to keep a job when their healthcare looks like this. I don't know why the check in is unclear and why this place isn't run more humanely and effectively. I wish I could avoid this place. I wish I wasn't here. I wish a lot of things. It's not just me either, I just heard another person defend herself, asking why she's been here three hours. She is justifiably angry. The staff, I am overhearing now, are saying stuff about how this patient needs an attitude adjustment, that it doesn't work like that. It shouldn't. I've now been here three hours and am just discharged. My suspicion is a lot of the problem is management of the call center and how flagrantly they mishandle scheduling. I've wasted 4 total hours of my life not including calling and being on hold at this institution. The techs are fine. The place is truly dysfunctional and upsetting. It's so inefficient feeing to write a Yelp review but I hope someone sees this and avoids this place, or inspires them to change (doesn't seem likely). My mother had a Treadmill Exercise Appointment body test refer to her doctor here this past Monday. Unfourtnely Gyms are closed due to the COVID 19 epidemic, I would take my mother to my gym so she can exercise the treadmill ( My mother walks the Track and Field park every single morning near her residence so she can exercise). I love this location better than the Brooklyn avenue and Snyder avenue location in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn, don't get me wrong the Brooklyn ave location is ok. but this one is bigger dough. Wow this place is a disorganized mess. I had a 6pm appointment and signed in. There were several people in front of me in line who were upset because their appointments had been cancelled and they weren't notified. I wasn't even seen by the front desk to check in until 35 minutes later. I filled out my paperwork and was sent to a second waiting room, where I waited for more than an hour additional. At this point the radiology tech brings me in, tells me that someone else got slotted into my appointment slot on the machine and that "if all goes well" would be another 60 minutes until I could go in. It was nearly 8pm at this point and I didn't feel like spending another hour (at least) waiting around, so they gave me the option to come back in the morning. The receptionist assured me that all my paperwork was now pre-filed into the system so I could "just check in and be seen ASAP" in the morning. As you can probably guess, this was not the case. I showed up for my 10am appointment the next day and the morning receptionist looked at me like I was crazy when I informed her of what I was told the night before. I had to go through the whole process again. I had to fill out all the same paperwork again, plus spend 35 minutes with reception while they tried to refund me the payment I made the night before so that I could re-pay the same amount that day. I know they have procedures that they're required to follow, but the whole process was time consuming and bananas. After that I spent nearly another 90 minutes actually waiting to actually be seen. To top it all off, I waited an extra 30+ minutes afterwards because they'd forgotten to burn my CD. In total, not even including the time for my actual exam, I spent FOUR AND A HALF HOURS in the office waiting. Needless to say, I'll never make an appointment here again. read more

I am so happy to see all of these negative reviews because I see that a lot of people agree with me. This place is awful. It is located downtown Brooklyn where the majority of patients are minorities. This place is always jam packed and the wait is intolerable. I've gone there twice and each time I've waited at least an hour and 45 minutes, if not more. Both times the receptionists told me the wait was because one of the technicians called out sick and they only had one working. Both times???? Maybe they should hire more RELIABLE technicians. The last time when they told me one of the technicians called out, an older woman who was also waiting yelled out to me, "Sweetheart they always say that." I happened to look around and noticed there were a lot of older people waiting and many had fallen asleep. All this year they were calling me to schedule a mammogram and I finally told one of the representatives about my experiences with Lenox Hill. I told her in my experience whenever these type of businesses are in minority neighborhoods the service is lacking. They act as if that's all the people in the neighborhood deserve. I told her that I even voiced this to a white woman who was also waiting and she agreed with me. I told the representative to remove me from their call list because I am never going back. I have been here occasionally, and thankfully always received positive results. Since my last visit, they have undergone a name change (formerly Doshi Diagnostic) and are now known as Lenox Hill Radiology. As soon as you walk in, expect a packed waiting room. There are several ladies, about four to six at the reception desks (yes, two) to handle the amount of foot traffic. After 15-20 minutes, I was called up to provide my referral, ID, and insurance card. A manager, I assume, announced that they were running behind and apologized for the long wait time. Once I was finally called to prep for the exam, the staff of women moved with an extra pep in their step. I truly appreciated that there was a doctor on-site to screen each x-ray to ensure that it was clear enough for diagnosis, if any, to avoid callbacks. No one has time to return two or three times to redo the same exam. I know the wait time can be challenging, but I would prefer that the technicians take their time to get it right the first time. The facility itself was huge and the bathroom is waaaaaaaaaaay in the back. No complaints about cleanliness or professionalism. Keep up the good work! read more

I was just here about an hour ago. I witnessed a health care person come out to the public waiting room in full view and full hearing of everyone and tell a senior citizen that the doctor wants to take additional views of her breast because there is a suspicious mass, and that a small are will be compressed. The health care person twice repeated it in a very loud voice. Everyone in the waiting room looked around in disbelief. I immediately left. This is not a place i want to have anything done. Was satisfied with the process and care here but it has been terrible. My MRI was cancelled twice due to no tech on duty. I was just given another date which I had been told when I booked the original date that it was my last option before having to get new authorization documents from my doctor and/or insurance. I could only call the call center not the specific location. The person who answered the phone tried to help but did not understand what my request was so told her manager something else so the manager did not convey the correct information to the Bond St site. I asked to speak directly to the manager and was on hold for 30 min and then disconnected. At the moment I am on hold once again trying to get help. Maybe you will see my review and contact me. It is impossible to contact you. When someone calls you to cancel it is from a number you cannot call back. Probably sitting at home when the rest of us who work in real health care services have been at work throughout the pandemic and really do not have time to wait on hold for 30 - 40 min. read more

There was a mixup in my appointment time: I wrote down in my calendar 15 minutes later than the scheduler did. I'm not sure whose fault that was but I'm happy to take accountability. But I was not happy when it took the staff at the Bond St. location 50 minutes to tell me that because I was late, my appointment was automatically cancelled. They offered to help me reschedule but had nothing to say about the 50 minutes of wasted time except "Thats our system." Very politely, I said "Perhaps you should consider changing the system so that no one ever has to wait 50 minutes before being acknowledged." But she didn't seem to understand my frustration saying"Look, I'm trying to help you by rescheduling. You were late." To be clear, my frustration was not having the appointment cancelled. My frustration was that I was not informed immediately of this issue. It took 50 minutes before anyone even noticed I was there, even though I signed in promptly. Even people who were on time seemed to be waiting eternities. During my wait for nothing, I watched 2 names get called while the waiting room remained filled with people. It represented a colossal waste of collective time and showed that this location does not sufficiently value its patients' time or safety (since a crowded waiting room in COVID feels like a bad idea). read more

They made me come three times for an MRI and they could not do it. Either it was a different machine, or the machine was not working or the technician was not there. I had an appt for a mammogram today at 7pm. I showed up at 6:45pm. The woman at the front desk, Stephanie S. was nice. She said the technician was trying to leave for the night, so we rushed to fill out all paperwork - insurance, background heath info etc. Once we were all done (before 7pm), she gave me the form I needed to give to the technician. I sat down. A couple of minutes later, Stephanie told me that the technician decided to leave for the night and there wasn't anyone else to see me. I asked the tech's name - she told me it was Vanessa. Just to be clear - she left BEFORE my 7pm appointment, while I was there and she KNEW I was there. It was shocking. I'm going to have to agree with Noah here. Why did I have an appointment? I was given a 10:00 appointment but told to arrive at 9:30 as there was paperwork to fill out. I arrived a bit earlier, around 9:15 just to be on the safe side. I filled out the paperwork which took all of 3 minutes to complete and the lady told me I had to drink 2-3 cups of water prior to my exam. Anyone who knows me will tell you it will take a good hour for me to finish that much water. I drink slowww. But it was nearing my 10:00 appointment time so I took one for the team and chucked it down. 10:00, 10:15, 10:20... okay.... I'm about to pee myself. I thought my appointment was at 10:00! What is this? I go up to the counter and ask what the deal is, and she says that they call people in the order that they came in. So my 10 o clock APPOINTMENT meant nothing? Okay Marla, try not to get upset. Gotta control those sphincter muscles. smh The actual exam went pretty fast with an INexperienced but very friendly tech. Hope to not have to return again! read more
