So the store undergoing a renovation and should be back bigger and better it seems. They are still open normal business hours but their showroom is reduced to a smaller section while construction is in progress. So i ordered my glasses with script + all the bells and whistles. The process was overall pretty easy, they can compare in store promo and your insurance coverage if it applies. Once compared you can choose which method saves you the most and go with the better deal! The good thing about going in store is being able to have the frames tried it on, then when you find the one you gravitated to, they'll make sure your PD measurement and alignment of the lens to your eyes are at the proper level. So we got the pair ordered and i was told about a week (now i know it's usually 1-2 weeks). 2 weeks pass by i hadn't received a text or call. Waited until 3 weeks, still no signs. Called in and spoke with the store manager who was very nice over the phone and she would personally look for them as they were marked as delivered to store yet, unfortunately nowhere to be found at the moment. I was told we'll get a call back. Didn't hear a word, so a month goes by and i stopped in to check in person. Staff told me it was delivered somewhere and was lost, so they actually ordered a replacement to be shipped out. That's cool, just wish i was going to get a text or update as i was sort of in the dark. Week 5 roll around and i finally got the text they are ready. I was in dire need of new pair with the premium anti-glare and polarization for work. Manager felt a bit disconnected at the time almost felt like a "man let me get this case done and sent" but anyways i know things get busy and hectic i suppose. Anyways helped adjust the frames once, she also gave me a prorated discount cash back for the inconvenience and sent me on my way. I'm glad they did do something to make up for the 5 week turnaround time. I appreciated that. Especially since they weren't cheap but also bought the insurance for a year (which starts once you pickup not when you buy, that's a plus) Anyways may get a second set in the near future since insurance has started a new year again. Lens Crafters offer "luxury" eyeglass wear & prescription sunglasses. You can find brands such as Gucci, Prada, Burberry, Cartier, and those similar here. The staff isn't the most friendly or not that I've experienced at least, but I find it peaceful to be able to look at glasses without being bothered constantly. Many of my glasses have been from here in the past & I favor the LensCrafters inside Macy's more over this one in the mall. They're located across from the food court at SSP. read more

Absolutely unacceptable quality and customer service. I purchased frameless glasses from LensCrafters in October and treated them with extreme care. In under three months, the lens cracked exactly where the arm attaches -- a textbook failure point that strongly indicates defective materials or poor workmanship. LensCrafters reviewed photos and still refused to replace them, claiming the glasses were "out of warranty." Let that sink in: a premium eyewear product fails in under 90 days and they wash their hands of it. Their idea of "customer care" was to offer a $100 credit toward buying another pair from them. I declined. I will never shop at LensCrafters again. This company does not stand behind its products, and Luxottica's dominance of the eyewear market makes this behavior even more disturbing. I'm a fan of this LensCrafters. They have an optometrist on site so I usually get an exam and glasses ordered the same day. The staff here is kind and they know what they're doing when adjusting your frames. I had the last pair of glasses for 10 years so it's long overdue to have a new prescription and new frames. It took a few weeks for my glasses to come in, but worth the wait. I have AAA and that discount is usually the best discount on frames. read more

They took me right away as a walk-in, so that was good. From there, some negative things. I asked if they took my insurance and what the copay was. Desk person said $10, same as I had seen online for my insurer. Saw the first person for an eye test. I could hardly read the scratched screen until she finally shut off the lights. Saw the doctor. After doing his exam keeping my eyes wide open with lights, he said, do your eyes feel dry? I said no. They are fine. He said he thought they looked dry and gave me some eye drops. They knew that my order was canceled on 7th? They told me to come back to their Braintree store location and pick a different frame. I said thanks but I'm going to a different store. I would advise everyone to avoid this location. My experience was with Claudia who is supposedly the assistant manager of the location. I went into this location and only bought lens replacements for my glasses during this time I declined the protection plan. Claudia said it was added but let me do this for you. She acted like she gave me a discount to add this but what all she really did was put through my insurance. I noticed this but rather than create an issue I was going to report to their customer service. Before I got the chance to do that my lenses came in so I went back to the store. I handed over my glasses for them to put the replacement lenses in. So after a few moment the rep Jennifer came back saying she broke my glasses. Now I do not have backups because I've never needed them. Now they are scrambling around trying to find away to replace my frames which them ordered but never gave me any information on when they would come in. I asked them to do something but all they said was I don't know. Great thing to hear, so I had glasses to wear all they did was put tape on them. Great look for a business professional. Shortly after this my glasses fell apart because of the half assed attempt to put them back together. So I went back and asked them to fix it. During that same trip I wanted to bring up the deceitful practices they displayed when I declined the protection plan. Claudia was the one that came out. I confronted her but she was trying to say that I was essentially lying which upset me. I know what happened and when I said I was going to report you to customer service she accused me of being deceitful. I got to say this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had at any place which prompted me to write this review to warn people of this. Claudia will add protection plans without your knowledge so please be careful. I would also say I did get an eye exam here and the people were lovely. I have been to three LensCrafters locations in the last couple weeks. I started out at this location, as I have bought a pair of glasses from them before. In general, LensCrafters locations are simply understaffed. You walk in, and the employees are juggling several customers. Good luck getting their full attention, if you get it at all. At first I was looking to just replace the lenses in my glasses, however I had walked around for a bit and ended up really liking a new set of frames. I went to the front to inquire (there had been a line), and I was told the system/lab, whatever, was down. No further assistance or explanation was given. So then I asked "Ok, so come back another day?". I overheard him tell the next people that it could be one day or even three days until they were up and running again. I read one of the reviews below that said to go to the LensCrafters in Macy's and they were completely right. I went to the Macy's location and two employees were sitting there ready toassist, it was quiet and they had no customers. Emily was amazing. If this was a review for Macy's it would be a five star review. First, she adjusted my old glasses that hadn't been adjusted in years. She gave me affirmation that she loved my new frames and educated me about blue light. Unfortunately I needed the glasses ASAP, and if I ordered from them, they use the same lab as upstairs. So then, Emily called another LensCrafters in Plymouth who put my frames and lenses prescription on hold for pick up the next day. When I went to LensCrafters in Plymouth the next day, my frames and script were ready and waiting for me. Again, they were understaffed juggling multiple customers. The lady at first told me she had nothing on hold for me, but I saw my frames in a basket behind the desk, thank goodness. They kept bouncing back and forth between all the customers. They did a decent job of it, but the bottom line is they're overwhelmed with not enough staff and it seems to be a systemic problem. Do they do appointments? It might help. Definitely go to the Macy's location where you can have the uninterrupted help of super knowledgeable staff. read more

So glad I came here for my new glasses (back in March - still trying to catch up on writing reviews). It's not a WARM/welcoming place like Cambridge Eye Doctors was when I got my lat pair back in 2010 (at least that was my experience) BUT the techs know what they are doing and they do it well. They are very helpful, and I now have a beautiful pair of glasses on my face :) I also want to say that my dark pink plastic Ralph Lauren glasses have been thrown across the room/swiped off my face by a ToddlerMonster and they have held out well. Claudia waited on me and checked right away to see if it was possible to have new glasses within 24 hours. Because my prescription was minimal she assured me that I would be able to have them the next day! I picked out new frames and as we chatted I explained that I didn't feel comfortable driving without a new prescription especially at night. 50% off lens when buying a frame lured me in. They have a wide selection of frames to choose from. Much more to choose from than Cohens downstairs. The managers and sales were helpful and friendly. I thought it was pretty cool that they use the computer to do measurements now. Managers were knowledgeable - I asked what does all those numbers in the script mean. I'm happy that I'm not blind as a bat, just a normal eyeglass user! Now I just have to wait a week to see how good of a job they cut the lens for my sunglasses since I repeatedly told them my concern for polarized lens warping the lens or come out too thick on the edge. read more

My wife needed glasses so decided to come here since we live close by. As soon as we entered we were literally approached by 5 different associates asking if we know what we need/looking for. Literally felt like we were surrounded by a group of hyenas...felt super uncomfortable and told them that we have an appointment and that we want to just browse.... My wife picked out a frame and sat down with one of the people there to order the frame and the glasses. She kept trying to upsell which is fine but one of the things she convinced us to get was one of the options to make the glass lens less thick. It was only like $20 more so we said yes...week later she picks up the glasses and the lenses are super thick and not slim at all...she brought it up and their response was like it was because of the frame that she chose.....THEN WHY DID YOU MAKE US PAY EXTRA $20 FOR THAT SLIM OPTION???? Response was dismissive and we just decided to just forget about it. $20 is not the issue. It's the the way they do business here. Dishonest, pretentious, and try to squeeze every $$ out of you. Lenscrafters in house eye lab Braintree Eye Associates wrote up a totally wrong Prescription. After having it filled, my eye vision was very blurry, I then had another eye exam in Boston and that Dr. told us the prescription that David Herron OD is "Way Off" Stay Away and just read all the bad reviews on Yelp before you use Braintree Eye Assoc. & this Lenscrafters. PS I called Lenscrafters Headquarters In Mason, Ohio and they told me they will do a full investigation. More calls to them will hopefully improve the services in Braintree Ma. read more

My boyfriend went here for a fresh new pair of eye glasses. As soon as we walk in, we're greeted (which is normally a good thing) with a sarcastic employee, which we found out later he was the store manager. We browsed for the frames and was really only interested in getting new reading glasses to use up his FSA before it expires. We told the manager what we were looking for, basic reading lenses, he gave us an estimate of $500+ for just the lenses. After that ridiculous estimation of basic reading lenses, we said we'd still browse the frames and soon enough we were handed off to Vanera (another employee). Vanera was very courteous and her customer service seemed more sincere than the first employee, which I regretfully did not catch his name but was able to see on his badge he was the store manager. After selecting the frames of his choice, we sat with Vanera and went over the costs. After we informed her we were there just for basic reading glasses- her manager kept rudely and annoyingly intruded her sale (when he was not even asked upon or even needed). He was already with a customer but still eaves dropping with our check out with Vanera. The store manager's side comments of my boyfriend's preference of lenses and frames were not necessary nor needed at any time during our visit. The phone rang and Vanera excused herself to get the call and to our disadvantage left us with a view of the manager and his unwanted opinion on our purchase (he kept talking even when we didn't respond to him). He was annoyingly so rude and aggressive with his opinions we walked out while Vanera was on the phone and said to cancel our order. The rating of 1 star is for the store manager, if you're looking for a rude and disrespectful store manager, you'll find one at this location. Vanera gets a 5/5 stars, her customer service was superb, if anything I would have thought she was the manager for her sincere and respect towards us and willing to make a sale while the current manager seemed to push out customers by his attitude. This location has the worst staff. I've made the mistake of coming here twice for 2 pairs of glasses. Both times my lenses were made incorrectly and when I mentioned they didnt feel right I was told that I just needed to adjust. I had to bring my lenses to a different location for them to tell me they were made incorrectly. People spend a lot of money on glasses and its ridiculous that the staff dont pay attention to doing their job correctly. Two weeks later they still weren't ready and when they finally came in, they were the wrong glasses. Since we were moving at the time we then had to ask for a refund because we would no longer be in the area. Management took over an hour while we waited in the store to refund our payments. They couldn't have cared less throughout this process and had to absorb over $1,000 for their incompetence. Staff is a mess and consists of people with next to no knowledge of optics. I was treated very poorly at my old eye doctor when getting contacts. I called LensCrafters and was able to get an appointment very quickly. Everyone was so friendly when I got there. I was very apprehensive about contact lenses. The tech sat with my and told me not to worry. I never felt rushed or that they were irritated with me for being anxious and taking a long time to get the contacts out and in myself. Dr. Arsenault was so nice and comforting and told me if I had any problems at all to call and talked me through all my worries about the contacts. Great place! So happy I came in! read more

TOTALLY REDEEMED THEMSELVES.... I haven't purchased a new pair of glasses is about 5 or 6 years, but I had an infection in one of my eyes and my Dr. Suggested wearing contacts less often and wearing my glasses more so I decided to get a newer pair. I came to this LensCrafters and without getting into the whole long story my initial experience was a total nightmare, anything that could have possibly gone wrong with my order did, and even after my vision insurance kicked in I was about $500 out of pocket. I mean I was real pissed.... In comes Andre and Jason. Andre is one of the techs in this location and they guy is just awesome at his job. He empathized and I could tell he was genuinely concerned with what had happened to me. He took the time to explain every process that goes into making the special lenses I need, and how they are fitted into the glasses. He even custom fit me for a free pair of sunglasses that LensCrafters threw in to try and make the whole thing up to me, and then argued with the lab tech that yes, my Rx would fit the lenses is wanted and he was right. Jason is the store manager and somehow this big ordeal never got on to his desk until it was too late. Sometimes there's nothing you can do when your organization provides bad service but the true character of a person is what they do to make it right. Jason had done nothing wrong and was completely attentive, took the fault as the manager (as any good leader would do) and personally took handle of my order. I was refunded every dime I spent out of pocket, got a free pair of Rx sunglasses and Jason personally made each follow up phone call to me. To make thing even better, once the infection subsided it literally added an astigmatism to my eye and then it went away! So now I had to reorder my lenses a month after picking up my new glasses and Jason personally emails me to follow up on my order. Moral of the story.... Anyone can make a mistake but a true professional will make it right. I will seek out Jason for any pair of glasses I ever purchase for as long as he's in the industry. read more

I've been a LensCrafters customer for many, many years. I've used several locations because of their convenience and the quality of their glasses. I mostly use this location now, primarily because I LOVE the doctors and staff at Braintree Eye Associates--the optometrist office attached to this location. My LensCrafters experience here has steadily gone downhill. I absolutely echo other Yelpers who've stated that the customer service is horrible. Not all of the staff members are bad--some are terrific--but my experience with the managers has been beyond terrible. I'm not even sure they know what they are doing. When I went in a week ago to update my prescription, my fitting was interrupted twice by the manager who had to keep asking my optician questions about what to do. This was after I waited a good 20 minutes to speak with an optician in the first place. Last night, after work, I went to pick up my glasses (no 1-hour glasses for me based on my wonky eyes. I've learned to accept this). Per usual, they were understaffed and they asked me to wait. It also seems like this location has woefully poor technology. There is one computer for what, at the time, were 3 opticians. They actually formed their own line behind the counter to take turns entering information for each of their clients, and to take payment. Why do they not each have their own laptop or tablet to do this?? After sitting for 15 minutes with no prospect of speaking to a human any time soon, I asked for my glasses. These were bought and paid for and they were even my old frames. I didn't need a fitting. Worst case scenario, there is another LC location near where I work so I could go there for an adjustment. They asked me to sit again and that someone would be right with me. I admit, I got a bit frustrated at this point. I just wanted to pick up my glasses and go. Finally one of the other opticians handed them to me and told me to come back if I needed a fitting. There is nothing about my two most recent experiences that makes me ever want to come back. As I said, I've stayed there because I love my optometrist but I'm rethinking my loyalty to LC at this point. Also, no wonder Warby Parker is taking all of your business!! read more

This rating is for the retail store. Everything went okay with the eye exam. The nurses and desk staff were all normal quality. Not excellent, but they did their jobs correctly and I didn't wait very long. The eye doctor was really cheerful and nice. It was decent service overall. When I walked into the retail area, no one acknowledged or greeted me (this happened twice: once when i came in for the appointment and again when I came out of it). I couldn't see a thing since my glasses were broken, so I wandered around looking lost and trying to figure out who worked there. I had to intercept a woman who was helping someone else. She told me that they don't take my insurance, but showed me which brands had a lens and frames deal, then walked away. I'm nearsighted, so I could see that the glasses pretty much all looked the same; It was simply a question of which brand name I wanted stamped on it. I looked around to ask about prices for other frames, but again, couldn't see. I walked around hoping someone would use basic customer service skills by offering to help or saying they'd be with me once they were done with the person they were helping. That did not happen. Eventually, I just left and got two pairs of glasses at Cohen's, which is right downstairs. read more

So now that my days of wearing contacts has been pretty much kiboshed, I needed to get a pair of prescription sunglasses. Since this particular location is attached to my eye doctor's office, I figured this would be the easiest of options. There is a huge selection of frames and the staff (well, most of them) seem to have some comprehension of sunglasses. Since they were running a special of 50% off frames, I figured I would give it a try. I finally picked out a pair and then practically had to chase someone down so I could start getting them made. Their sales tactic works like this: once they know they have to you sold on a pair of glasses, they quickly move to the next soul walking through the door to sell them. While you traverse the frames, it is clear that as the customer, your responsibility is to find someone to throw money at them. Grrrrr! So I picked out a pair of Ray Bans and started the check-out procedure. I will give them credit that they did several calculations as to what would yield me the "cheapest" out-of-pocket cost to me since insurance would only pick up so much. Really, that is the only shining moment. An hour and a half later, I come back to pick them up. I bought a pair of tortoise shell glasses with the amber lenses. When I picked them up, the lenses were practically yellow and one could see through the lenses right to my eyes. They looked like something straight out of the 80s. All I needed was a pair of acid washed jeans to go with them. When I asked why they were so "light", all I got was, "Well, that's the way they are." It would have been REALLY nice to know that before I spent a decent chunk of change on them. Two days went by and I finally had enough of them. Fortunately, LensCrafters has a really good return policy and I was able to pick out a new pair, with a new lens, and even try on a "sample" with the prescription lenses. Bottom line: it took a lot of aggravation, a lot of back-and-forth, and a lot of money to get what I wanted with a lot of subpar customer service. Consider this as a disclaimer. If I were to do it again, I would have bought the frames from LensCrafters just based on their selection and work with an independent lens shop to have the lenses made for what I needed. read more
