Tom, turned out it wasn't that my distance vision was poor it was my chronic dry eye causing my eyes to fuzz up.

I brought back a pair of glasses because they seemed wonky and the gentleman fixed them while I waited, they were improved but still wonky. I figured maybe it was me, maybe I wasn't giving my eyes a break while viewing a screen when I was supposed to so I kept using them. At my next eye appointment (I go somewhere else for medical reasons) I asked them to check and see if the glasses matched the prescription and they said they were way off, that because of astigmatism it's important that they be centered correctly. So, I called and asked for the owner to talk about the error in the glasses. She did not return my call for about a week and when she did she seemed really defensive saying that it is not possible that the glasses left there with a flaw. Then said that they had to special order the frames because I wanted old frames which I was very appreciative of and thanked her again for. She then said that it had been a year since I got the glasses to which I replied I think it's been 9 months but thinking, who cares, I wasn't asking her for anything. I was calling to let her know that the person working on the glasses may need some more training on centering glasses. And to order new glasses with the new prescription I just received (that I did Not expect free at this point but was hoping for a discount due to driving cross-eyed-ish for 9 months). She finally snapped "you'll need to bring those in." Obviously. I don't think I'll ever go back there, she obviously cares more about not being wrong than she cares about her customers.

I was seen within five minutes of my arrival, the newer services were explained to me which I really appreciated prior to going in to see the doctor, so I knew exactly what was going to happen, again the doctor was knowledgeable and informative and overall, she was really laid-back and supportive. The fact that it's very close to my house it's just a bonus. I would certainly recommend right after I told you to make sure you go ANNUALLY!

It would be great if For Eyes had a larger selection of petite women's frames, but that seems to be the case everywhere. What I REALLY love about the For Eyes in So. Weymouth is the service, and I want to give a special shout-out to Cynthia (Cindy) the optician! A while back when my mother and I were glasses shopping, Cindy gave us good feedback on frame choices then looked up our separate vision plan benefits and took the time to price out our frame and lens selections (with insurance, without insurance, with For Eyes' current specials, etc.). She was also perfectly lovely when I wanted to exchange one of the pairs I bought because I wasn't feeling a love connection. But yesterday Cindy took customer service to a stratospheric new level! I had shown up at the store shortly before closing time with my mum's glasses which had been damaged in a fall, hopeful they could be fixed but mentally prepared that it could be a wasted trip since they were bent in a couple spots and a side arm had broken off. Cindy did her best to fix the glasses but it was a lost cause. Undeterred, she checked the inventory and found they still carried the same frame (hallelujah!), so she popped the lenses into a new frame, adjusted them based on the bends in the original pair and created a perfect "new" pair of glasses for only $24 (the price of the frame) that I could then bring to my mother so she could see again. Mind blown!

The prep person apologized, but what good was that? After my initial exam, I waited another 20 minutes for the optometrist. I was there to get contact lenses. I was told that I would have to make another appointment for that? Never mind. The office was pleasant, but I'm not gonna go through this again, another appointment? to be fitted for contacts? Very poorly run office. I certainly wouldn't recommend it. I will go to Family Vision instead. I don't wait for over an hour and have to come back for my fitting. They do it all at once.

I could wait for another one but nobody could say when. I had to get back to work. The receptionist gave me an appointment at an office half an hour away, over a month out. The doctor came in and rushed through a few questions. As she walking out the door, I asked her if my prescription for close up had changed. She looked at me quizzically. "You wear bifocals? Uh-oh, wait a minute." She had no idea. Then she left quickly. As my eyes were dilated and it was a very sunny day, I was blind on the road. I went about half a mile and gave up, turned the car around and went back to the office to wait until my eyes went back to normal. I asked at the desk why they don't have those temporary sunglasses that real optometrists have. They did have them, but they just weren't offering them to patients. When I got home I looked at my prescription; it is useless, obviously wrong, printed incorrectly. Every single interaction I had was sloppily mishandled, a chain of incompetence culminating in a giant waste of time, money and energy. Nielsen Eye Center has no patient survey to fill out after your visit, no follow-up, no method for feedback at all. I can't contact my "doctor". Patients are the very last priority for this arrogant, money-grubbing machine. It's been almost six months since I started dealing with this clown show, and I still have no prescription, my eyes have only worsened.

I have seen her 2 years in a row now. As for their eyewear, yes, they are expensive because they sell luxury eyewear. The assistant manager (Stacy) spent a lot of time finding the right pair of glasses that looked good on me and fit me well. She never made me feel pressured and was patient with me while I visited other stores before making my final decision. In addition, I had brought a pair of progressive glasses that I bought 6 months ago from For Eyes that I never had liked because I couldn't see well through them. Stacy immediately determined that the lenses weren't properly fitted and she fixed them for me! I am so glad that I used Lunette for my recent progressives. Not only did I get beautiful Chanel frames, the lenses are far superior than the lenses in my older 2 glasses. Significantly better! I will definitely continue using Lunette for my exams and eyewear!
