Worst ever. Extremely unprofessional. I had to follow up 4 times to see when my contacts were coming in. I'm sure they forgot to order them. When I finally got an appt for the fitting, the guy just gave me a pair, and basically left me there. The dr was behind schedule. The contacts were exactly what I had previously, only more expensive. Called the store after visiting asking for my PD because it was not filled out on the script. The person who answered the phone was incredibly rude and spoke down to me. I understand 100% if it is the law and they are unable to give me that information (even though it is my own medical information), which she said on the phone. But the way she said it was condescending. She continued to cut me off and would not let me speak. I do not recommend this store at all. The office that is located within the office is great, Dr is very friendly as is the Dr's staff, just the lenscrafters and the associate that was unnecessarily rude. I was waiting for glasses for my daughter that she desperately nreds and no one called or text to let me know they were ready. On the 10th day I called and the rude guy said they don't call people they text but I didn't received either and there was no simple sorry just straight rude. DON'T SHOP HERE If you want good service or a good product! LensCrafters made multiple mistakes and won't make good on the last one! My first pair of glasses were made with the wrong color frame. FIRST MISTAKE! They remade them during the first wave of Covid. I called and asked if they would hold my glasses because my husband and I are seniors and we were not going anywhere. They said absolutely, but when I went in to pick up my glasses, they could not find them. SECOND MISTAKE! They had my phone number, so they should have called me before they got rid of them. They made me a new pair in a different frame. I paid extra for the new frame. The new lenses have etchings in the lens in my line of sight. THIRD MISTAKE! There are four etchings in each lens The etchings are Annoying. I see them all the time! They admitted that I should not see the etchings, but they would not remake theses glasses unless I paid for half of the ridiculously expensive full price. Every remake was because of Lens Crafter's MISTAKES. So, since they already made Three MISTAKES they expected me to pay for their last mistake! THAT WAS THEIR BIGGEST MISTAKE! I called and asked to speak with the manager. I was told a manager would call me back. I gave them a chance and waited 6 hours for them to call before I posted this review. They Never Called! For the last 10yrs, me and my wife have been with Dr. Vaccarella and my son had his exam in 2021 with him. This year, Dr. Vaccarella does NOT see patients (been on waiting list for 4 months now) because he's busy setting up 2 new stores in NY. Making more money is much more important than helping patients ! The optometrists he brought in are eager to talk your ears full, push you to get new glasses / contacts even if you don't need. 2 of them prescribe high eye prescriptions that 'force' your eyes to adapt ! Absolute top notch service. I scheduled my annual eye check up as my old script needed. Staff were attentive. The appointment scheduled was satisfied on time. The physician was also attentive and detailed. Afterwards, I sat down with a Sales's Associate. She (Sales Associate) was incredibly patient and assisted me in a thoughtful manner. I am very pleased with my overall experience. My lenses despite being a Bi-focal along with a sun lens arrived ahead of schedule. In a nutshell, I had a very positive experience. read more

Update: not only is their customer service awful, but the prescription they issued me was wrong! I had to go back to a different optometrist to received a correct prescription. Awful experience, absolutely would never recommend. Probably the worst customer service experience I've had. Went in for new glasses and an annual eye exam and from the optometrist to the sales staff, they were alternating rude or dismissive. They also push hard for the laser retinal scan, over dilation. I will definitely pick a different location for my next exam, and would definitely recommend going elsewhere for glasses purchases. This location told me it was illegal for them to provide a PD measurement without purchasing glasses first, and said it was NJ law, which seems odd, as it's the board that does not require for them to provide it, not "illegal" to. (I get it, you don't want your customers buying cheaper glasses online at Warby Parker etc, but citing a state law that doesn't exist is stupid.) Had an amazing time picking out glasses. I was able to pick out all of the pairs of glasses I wanted to look at from there 100+ per selection. The staff was super attentive and patient with me trying 20 pairs of glasses on. They took my eyemed insurance and glasses arrive in one to two weeks. Fantastic service! read more

I accompanied my friend here once, and she had outstanding service! Which lead me to believe these guys are great! My experience was the latter! Had a 4:20pm appt. no clear direction in the place where the reception desk is, it's actually all the way in the back hidden from plain view. So I'm there at the front door where they have a counter "I guess to pick up your special order glasses" waiting... and waiting... as the guy goes back and forth does not even bother to acknowledge me and ask if I needed assistance. I had to actually holler over and ask where I need to go as he points over lazily to the back. Upon walking to the reception desk, seems like the staff were all on a break or having a party, as everyone were disengaged from their job function, everyone seemed out of their element. By the time I was seen it was some 20 mins. After my appointment time. On a good note Dr. Manasse was beyond exceptional! She had a remarkable aptitude for dealing with people. Probably the only one in that place that had any level of customer service skills. It's because of her I even give 2 stars. Otherwise to that it would've been 1. Saw a doctor right away, Dr. Sherman was great. My only complaint is that they don't have a lab on site so I bought frames and am taking them to another location. read more

We always get our eyeglasses here. Unfortunately when we pick/order our eyeglasses, I forgot my wellness card that I can use to pay for it. With the assurance of the store manager that they can revert the payment when we pick-up the glasses, we proceed to order it. Comes pick-up day I asked him of the promise to revert it- he started by saying just wait then he comes to me to tell me that i can just submit the claim for reimbursement- to cut it short he is starting a run around! Went to the LensCrafters inside Macy's, seems like a fairly new place. Terrible service!!!! I was one of the two people there and this was my second trip to finally order a new pair of glasses. The associates barely knew how to work the iPads that were given to them. Had to put in my information a total of 4/5 times. My associate had to ask and confirm with his manager everything that he was doing which added a lot of extra time. I already knew which frames I wanted and had all my insurance info and my prescription- went in at about 4:30pm and ended up leaving at 7. I've been to other busier LensCrafters locations and managed to make it in and out within an hour. PLEASE save yourself some time and go to a different location with people that actually know what they're doing if you are looking to just order a new pair of glasses. No complaints with the eye exam; it was prompt and courteous. The problem is with the sales team. Two major issues: the sales staff is not very knowledgeable AND the pricing is borderline scam. First, when a customer asks about different options or alternatives about insurance discounts, it's not a good idea to insinuate that he/she is trying to commit insurance fraud. Second, I admit it was my mistake for relying on a national chain to price their glasses relatively competitively. Even with my insurance discounts, I ended up paying not 2x, not 3x, but close to 5x what I would have paid at Costco without any insurance discount! Awful experience both times! The first time I scheduled an appointment in 2014 I thought it would be great because I scheduled an appointment online; however, when I got there and checked in at the front desk I was then told to go wait in the back, which I ended up doing for over 90 minutes! I had an exam with Dr. Paul Isaac, who was really nice, but he went to write my prescription, but he had another appointment, so I waited another hour just to get my prescription. The secretary at the front then asked what contacts I wanted to order, but I told her I'm going to order them online (which I've always done and is a LOT cheaper), so I asked for a copy of my prescription. She then got really snobby about it and upset that she needed to go to the copy machine, and she said ordering online is not good because they're not real contacts. In 2015 I went back for another eye exam; however, when I get there the secretary was snobby from the get-go saying "You didn't get my message!? You can't make an appointment before a full year from your last exam." I never got a message because I made an appointment the night before online, after the store closed, so you never called. I was only going to do 1 exam I called my insurance after and they said I can make an appointment less than a year since my last visit, since it's in a new calendar year and they had in the system my last visit was 51 weeks prior anyway. Even the insurance lady on the phone was shocked by the secretary. I ultimately made an appointment with a different eye place where it was a lot less stressful. I feel bad for the doctors here because they're nice, but the staff up front deters customer retention. read more

I have gone here every year since I've moved into the area, and I have to say that the service and selection are great. They have an eye doctor in the back and they help you select what you need up front. My wife needs glasses and contacts and you can order everything you need here and they are quite helpful and nice. The only minus against them is their prices are high. This is a national chain and you will pay for it all. read more

As I said on another reviewer site, I don't understand all of the negativity. I had a first-time Lens Crafters visit on a Monday evening; I was filling a prescription from my ophthalmologist. I was greeted by two staff members, and an optician helped me select new frames. I had maxed out on my insurance allowance but the staff was happy to work with me on reduced pricing, and the glasses were ready as promised the next day. I'd recommend to friends and family, and will return if I need glasses in the future. read more

This place put a hold on my insurance benefits after we shopped there and were not able to find glasses for my son. They don't tell you this. You only find out when you try to file a claim at another eye glass store. This is such an unscrupulous practice and forces you to go back to them while you waste time and money. Don't go here and don't give them your insurance information. Also all their glasses take 7 days or more when they advertise glasses in an hour. I wish I could give them 0 stars! read more

The actual doctors, who are educated and have been trained in both their field and customer service, are great. It's just a shame that the hired help at the front desk is disgraceful. Like their doing you a favor doing their job. How many reviews say the same thing yet I go here out of convenience but it might have been the last. Nobody wants to spend their day off being huffed and puffed at by incompetent assistants who are absolutely miserable. They look at you like you have ten heads and don't want to be there. Once again, a shame Bc the doctors are wonderful, very pleasant and know what they're doing and talking about. Maybe they should get receptionists who are happy to have a job. We walked in and were greeted promptly. They have a great selection and designer frames that not all places carry. Prices are reasonable and more competitive than a private optical place. Only had two hiccups. We got my daughters glasses very fast but the first attempt they didn't do a good job so we sent them back without any issues. We got the second pair quite fast and all seemed great until we were getting ready to leave that the optician wanted to keep my daughters old frame. She was very stern that it was an exchange and she had to keep her old pair. The reason was because the first attempt they stamped the paperwork "exchange". I just got glasses for the first time the other day from here. Great selection, many to choose from, I found a great pair that I really like, was able to pick up my prescription the very next day. But I am writing this because I am really bothered with their customer service at this location. Not only does their service need work, the employees that I dealt with were rude and non approachable. I work as a customer service rep, when someone comes up to your desk or into your store, you greet them and ask if there's anything you can do to help that person. I walked in and started trying on glasses, which I expected to do on my own, but having someone approach me and help me as a first time glasses buyer would have been appreciated. What bothered me was people who came into the store after me were approached and I felt ignored. After deciding on the pair I wanted, I felt like I was annoying the employee by telling them I was ready to buy and fill my prescription. I kept getting "hold on a sec", "hey Nicole, can you help her?", "hey, Lisa, she's got a question." I felt like I kept being pawned off onto different people and none of them wanted to take care of me. I was helping them make a sale here! So the next day when I came to pick up my glasses, I simply went to the desk and told them I was here to pick up. They said okay hold on, the girl who's on the phone will assist you. No problem waiting but when she got off the phone she went over to sit and assist another customer. Feeling ignored twice is not acceptable. What should have been an easy process took a lot longer than expected. Its going to be close to 2 months, i still have not received my prescription glasses. This is the most horrifying experience ever for me. Hope you take some action. Very disappointing. read more

We just had a wonderful experience here - we were on a trip in New Jersey and my wife lost her glasses . We stopped at this LensCrafters and they were able to measure her eyes and send the information to another lens crafters in the next city we were visiting. We didn't purchase the frames or lenses here, but they were willing to give us excellent service in spite of that. Bravo! read more

Gave me an okay discount on my new frames. Was told to come back in two hours. Came back in 3 hours and they still weren't done. While picking out frames I waited 25mins before anyone helped me. Mind you there was only one other person in the store and 5 employees chitchatting away. I'm disappointed with the service. If I'm spending $500 on glasses I don't want to be waiting around all day for the people to get their act together. Also, the guy doing the inspection on my glasses told me that I was the second set of glasses bought today. Super slow. Also, they yell across the store to each other and to customers. I wish I did not have to write a bad review but...I work with mentally disabled individuals. I took a client to get his eyes checked. Everyone was great, except for one particular employee named Sydney. My client is afflicted with autism and occasionally becomes loud if he is uncomfortable. While we were waiting for his exam, Sydney kept laughing with her coworkers every time my client started getting upset. At first I thought, she could be laughing at something else. It became clear that she was mocking my client after I heard her say, "they shouldn't take those kind of people out in public." Nodding in our direction and giggling. I'm obviously horrified and will not go to the Bridgewater location again as long as she works there. My client deserves more respect despite his disability. read more

Not the same level as other Lenscrafters. My pair came in more than a week later than originally promised, and they were all done wrong. One side of lens came off and the sun glasses company logo was cut out by the lab. Although they offered $50 store credit but totally unhappy with my experience at this location. I ended up canceling my order, and now I have to wait for my EyeMed insurance record to be straightened out. read more

I have been going to this specific LensCrafters for many years. Although they do have pretty good customer service and were helpful with suggesting which frames looked best, I wasn't informed my glasses would take 10-14 days to be ready until right before I was asked to pay. In all the years prior which I have gone here, they did same day pick-up. I'm not sure why that changed, but I am now waiting on day 16 for my glasses. I would recommend going somewhere that returns glasses faster than LensCrafters, because 16 days is not okay. read more
