I had previously chosen another doctor but cancelled after speaking to Dr. Nowain because he was head and shoulders better. He was extremely patient, knowledgeable, and reassuring. I had several other friends that highly recommended him. On the day of my procedure, Dr. Nowain was punctual and very comforting as he could tell I was nervous. He has an excellent bedside manner to go with his skills and credentials. The procedure went perfectly, and the doctor was right next to me when I woke up to discuss the results and share pictures with me. All in all, this was an amazing experience with an excellent doctor and I'm glad I did it. I highly recommend this doctor to everyone else. I have very high standards and I'm extremely picky and Dr. Nowain met and surpassed all my expectations. To everyone over age 40, please get colonoscopies. A 30 minute procedure could save your life. And better yet, get it with Dr. Nowain. The research I did showed he was much more effective at catching cancerous polyps than his contemporaries.

Dr. Nowain is super kind but his knowledge or recommendations have not helped me improve. The guidance that I have received has caused a lot of confusion, months of pain, and inconvenience. My colonoscopy could have been catastrophic. Their front office emailed me instructions that went to spam and because they were "sent," they did their job. There is no care to follow up. Thankfully, the colonoscopy went well, or so I thought. My symptoms did not improve, they worsened. The probiotics that were recommended made things worse. I called to let them know but did not receive a call back and was told to be patient. How are you supposed to improve if there is no guidance or dialogue? You have to rely on the internet and other people for that. They simply make appointments, charge you, and move you along. No real care, just process so they can get the next person in and charge them. I hope everyone continues to get excellent care, I'm in more pain than ever after trying this place. I will be seeking treatment elsewhere.

Before meeting him, I had visited five other doctors in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills, and they all told me that I had a pre-cancerous condition. He's compassionate and cares and has knowledge beyond his seemingly Dorian Gray genes... I mean does this guy ever age? Anyway, his eagle eyes found two hitchhikers in my colon that could have become dangerous, but lucky for me, he's the best and I'm on the mend. The office answers questions via email very promptly and are on top of everything. The worst part of a colonoscopy is the prep and even that is made easier with Dr. Makhani's guidance and care.

I came to him after having wiped my GI microbiota from taking oral antibiotics and am currently suffering from SIBO / SIFO where I experience bloating, gassiness, headaches, nausea, combined with insomnia due to my discomfort. Dr. Rahbar has done a great job of listening to me, providing a comprehensive plan, and has a wealth of knowledge and is able to explain his plan and methodology in detail. He has great bedside manners and has an exceptional wealth of knowledge ranging not just strictly in the GI areas, but as well as expertise in the other organs and systems of the body. He has also helped to answer my calls numerous times when I had urgent health inquiries, even during off-business hours, without any complaint. Without him, I would be completely lost and hopeless with my condition. Though my treatment has not been quick and easy, he has helped to provide a clear plan forward to getting me back to health. This was the worst experience our family has had with a physician. We are furious and very…read moredisappointed. My mother reported ongoing stomach pain for approximately three months and repeatedly sought help. During one of her visits, she specifically asked about her pancreas and whether everything looked okay. She was told it was "fine" and was prescribed antibiotics because she had SIBO. No imaging was ordered to further evaluate her persistent symptoms. Months later, she was diagnosed with what appears to be advanced pancreatic cancer. I understand that not every patient with abdominal pain has pancreatic cancer, and I know hindsight is easier than diagnosis. However, persistent symptoms deserve a thorough evaluation, especially when a patient continues to express concern and specifically asks about her pancreas. We were left feeling that her concerns were dismissed rather than fully investigated. I hope this review encourages the practice to listen carefully to patients, take persistent symptoms seriously, and consider appropriate imaging or specialist evaluation when the clinical picture doesn't improve. No family should be left wondering whether an earlier workup could have made a difference.

After months of turmoil, I ultimately switched doctors after being told by Dr. Tabib that he didn't go to medical school to be on the phone with my insurance company for hours. I had started a biologic treatment and there was an abundance of miscommunication following my initial treatments regarding my maintenance treatment. Dr. Tabib was the ONLY one that could straighten it out with my insurance company. I put in hours and hours on the phone with them as well doing everything I could to facilitate resolution. During one phone call he made it clear that once this was worked out and I had my medication straight, if *I* wanted to part ways, he would understand. Ms. Theo (front desk) was a big part of the miscommunication happening on their end, and when I tried to talk with her about it, I was met with abrupt rudeness, but that was never addressed either. Dr. Tabib refused to discuss it. I was in tears, by the way, as I truly felt abandoned by people I had trusted with my health during the most vulnerable moments of my illness. Once we parted ways, I thought we were done. I received a bill or two after that, and paid them. It had been a tumultuous several months, and I was relieved for it to be over. And now I'm suddenly getting calls from a collections agency months later. Very disappointing ending to this story.

After about 5 minutes, one of the receptionists finally turned around and asked who I was there to see. I gave her my name and the time of my appointment and she started to act annoyed about my paperwork saying I never filled it out. When I told her I had filled it out that morning, she said she would look into it and to take a seat. After waiting another 10 minutes, a nurse took me into a room to take vitals, but gave no other details. Shortly after, the PA Ali Shahi saw me. He was attentive and polite and explained everything to me very clearly and gave me an opportunity to ask questions. He said he wanted to start with a couple of tests and that we would go from there. He left and no one ever came back to see me. After waiting in the room for 15 minutes, I went out into the hallway and no one was available to speak to. I walked back towards the exit and could not find the nurse. At this point, I had been in the office for almost an hour and had to leave. I told staff on my way out that I was leaving and would find another doctor. Ali was great, but unfortunately, his practice is surrounded by incompetent and rude staff. I have no interest in getting care from an office that treats patients like this.
