The place was easy to find. The clinic was clean, well lit, detailed with directions and not overly crowded. The nurse was very polite, friendly and down to earth. She did my vitals, verified all my meds etc. and did and EKG. Dr. Moraes and he was friendly, kind and very professional. He was patient, sympathetic to my situation, he listened and most importantly he did not rush my appointment!!!! He really made sure I understood what the goal was and the treatment plan he was putting in place for me. He answered all of my questions and reassured me that we were going to our best to nip this in the bud. I was very pleased with my visit and I would recommend him to family and friends... until my next visit lets see how this heart monitor and DASH diet goes..

The nurses and doctors at LCA would not return phone calls. Their switchboard is over loaded and generally it takes about 15 minutes just to get the operator on the line. The line will drop without warning. Once you get the operator and ask for the nurse, you are place on hold again or get the nurse's voice mail. There is no point in leaving a message because they have not given me the common courtesy of a return call. Since that did not work, I tried their web site and sent several messages. To date, I have received ZERO responses. I do not think anyone checks the messages. For something as serious as cardiology care I cannot understand the absence of timely, professional communication. I would not and cannot suggest anyone use this clinic. The level of professionalism is abysmal. Look elsewhere for your cardiology care.

Something that I didn't feel comfortable enough talking to my oncologist about, or my family physician. They both have an air of arrogance and a "better-than" attitude... Anyway, so I tried this guy. I was unsure at first as I read his other review, but I wasn't drug seeking, I was desperate for help. It didn't matter to me what he did in the past, or what happened. What matter was getting the help I needed. The only drs that took my insurance had a wait of at least a month. So when I started calling around - most drs wouldn't accept self-pay if you have insurance!! Baton Rouge Clinic was the only other one I found and they wanted to charge 367$ just to walk in the door. That didn't include labs or anything else. I was astounded and desperate. So I decided to try what seems to be the only self pay dr in BR. He met me at his office. He is semi-retired. So no nurses or med assistants. This dr logs all of your vitals and info his self! I've never met a dr that does that! He weighs you himself, does medical history himself and does a short physical. No need to fill out endless paperwork! Yay! As soon as he asked why I was there. I unloaded. Tears and all. I was so comfortable, I felt like I was talking to a family member. It melted my heart and just cried tears of frustration, depression, and relief. I then felt his compassion in the way he spoke with me. He knew exactly my symptoms and started calling them out - he wanted to help me! I was so grateful! I just cannot express enough to give this guy a try! Even my husband just went to him this past week. Ignore the negative review and get off that conveyor belt of insurance sponsored health-care. This drs. rates are incredibly affordable. Definitely so grateful that I took this initial step and am building a relationship with a dr. like this. I recommend him to everybody I know and will continue to do so until he fully retires.

This office is not aware of what insurance plans they cover. They performed services without…read morenotifying my mother that her insurance plan was not covered and she would be responsible for all payments. Further - she was later told that the bill was taken care of when it was not - then sent the bill to collections. My mother is an elderly patience, she was taken advantage of and treated unfairly. I strongly recommend not using them. Any reputable doctors office should understand what insurance plans they are contracted for and notify the patient of their responsibility before performing service.
